  1. Oh? So if someone doesn't massively over-value a defensively-challenged infielder with some pop he doesn't know about the system? Go figure.........
  2. Cop-out. Of massive nature.
  3. The Tigers sold high on Jackson. His peripherals are not pretty and suggest a regression next year, and not a small regression by any means. I believe your assessment on Schlereth is not quite right. He's a power arm with a fantastic fastball and a swing-and-miss breaking ball, the reason why he's a gamble is because he's not fully recovered from TJ surgery, but the stuff is there to be not a LH specialist, but a valuable bullpen arm. Granderson, however, doesn't seem like such a good idea, they sold low on him, and they probably shouldn't have.
  4. But now he has zero leverage. He'll have to negotiate on Seattle's terms if they want to sign him.
  5. A salary dump, by definition, is an instance where a team gives a player away to another team in exchange for salary relief and maybe a couple b-level prospects. The Braves got significant talent in the form of a player they have long coveted, a bullpen arm poised to excel in the NL, and high-octane, high-upside minor league arm. Not a salary dump.
  6. And Adam LaRoche shits the bed.
  7. Mlb.com agrees with fangraphs: Jon Garland: 1.18 career GB/FB%. Wang: 2.34 career GB/FB%.
  8. Jon Garland Stats Fangraphs. I'll believe Fangraphs.
  9. Then you were basically agreeing with the guy making the assesment, making an exception to snake your way out of ridicule, therefore, you do agree with the assesment. Therefore, you are yet again overvaluing a Yankee prospect. It would be fact if it was about Red Sox players. That's all i have to say about that.
  10. No offense, but you have no idea what you're talking about. Stop making assumptions, since a convincing package was offered to San Diego for Gonzalez, but they want to maximize their return to him by holding on to him, and who could blame them? You can't blame the FO for another team not wanting to trade their best player. This offense, as constructed right now, is still very much above average. Your saying it sucks denotes both ignorance and the defeatist nature of Red Sox fans who hadn't won a championship in over 80 years. Newsflash: Different FO, different team. All we need is a competent 1B to hold the fort until a better bat is found.
  11. You just agreed with me, so what the hell are you talking about? Just agree he doesn't have the projection you gave him. Stats tell you all you need to know about unsustainable runs. This is fact.
  12. I agree with everything on this post. Specially on the Melky part. Gardner simply has more tools.
  13. Willy Mo Pena used to get Manny Ramirez comparisons. Check out the adavanced stats on Joseph. You'll be surprised.
  14. Zach Duke would get absolutely destroyed in Yankee stadium. We're talking about a guy who doesn't strike out anyone (4.57 career K/9), and although he has some groundball tendencies, he's wildly inconsistent, and sported a 1.3 whip last year even with a .296 BABIP. In the NL central. Vasquez is a completely superior pitcher.
  15. Really? His AL numbers reflect success nowhere near either AJ or Lackey. Even if you account for his fantastic K rate.
  16. Unlike the link right below your statement. Which consists of a sample size that needed an entire site for its complete documentation. Holy stupidity, Batman!
