  1. I'll be in Cleveland in a few weeks. I just hope we avoid those damn bugs.
  2. Suzuki is a better catcher than Napoli. Willingham has power and gets on base. Good guy to have coming off the bench. I thought about Blackburn being like Sonnanstine, but Blackburn's walks are up this year, and it really hasn't hurt him. Sonnanstine's walks are up, and he's been completely ineffective. He's also giving up the gopher ball at an alarming rate.
  3. Josh Willingham - Bench
  4. I was going to go with another guy for my 5th starter (I'll name him once someone else picks him), but his health is a concern. His last start was awful, and for whatever reason he hasn't been the same the last 2 seasons. I'm aware Blackburn will probably be panned by some of you because of his low K/9, but I like him. Obviously pitches to contact. Somehow, though, he gets the job done. He's 27, has good mechanics, and makes pitches when he has to. I think he'll be able to consistently give me around 200 innings a year, an ERA of 4.00 or under 4.00, and a WHIP around 1.3. And if that's the case, what more could you want from a 5th starter?
  5. Nick Blackburn - SP
  6. That's a little absurd. Mo isn't automatic anymore, especially if he has to go more than 1 inning. Has Hughes ever been automatic?
  7. Bob Costas agreed with Jacko. Still, you can undersand Jacko's frustration. 0-8 is a tough pill to swallow.
  8. Take the trade back, and you can also give your '07 rings back.
  9. And this is retarded.
  10. Two more players from my brother's team were drafted today. Brett Nommensen was taken in the 8th round by the Bay Rays. Jordan Kreke was taken in the 13th round by the Braves. IMO, this makes EIU's omission from the College World Series even more egregious.
  11. They failed to sign their #1 pick, Aaron Crow, last year. I don't think they'll make the same mistake. But with Boras, it's going to take forever to get this thing resolved.
  12. Wow, 51 total bases in the first two days this week. Adrian Gonzalez and Hanley had almost nothing to do with it. Go figure.
  13. f***, nice pick, Dojji. Versatility, thy name is Ben Zobrist. Makes my upcoming pick for my first bench player a lot easier to justify.
  14. Tyler Kehrer drafted 48th overall, from my brother's school, EIU.
  15. I'm not sold on this solid thing.
  16. If what we're seeing this year is the true Michael Bourn, that was a really good pick by Yankshater. Doesn't get as much hype as Ellsbury, but I think Bourn may actually be better - or at least has a chance to be better.
  17. This Bush-Meche debate is meaningless. If I get who I have in mind for my 5th starter, look out.
  18. You never know. You've got the pitching to do it now. Getting Bedard and Utley was huge. I know Dynasty was happy to get Mauer, but he really screwed himself over with that trade.
  19. Goddamn, I hate when daily roster moves blow up in your face. I think I lost 9 RBIs this week because I didn't start the right guys. 5 RBIs alone today. It's infuriating.
  20. And to think some of you were talking about moving Lester to the bullpen or sending him down a few starts ago.
  21. Conor Jackson, LF
