  1. I think the reality of Ortiz retiring just hit me. I can't remember the last time I looked at a Red Sox lineup without a 30/40+ HR guy in the middle. Ever? Weird.
  2. Oh I hope you're right! Replacing papi with a platoon just seems foolish to me. EE is a perfect fit.
  3. I'm with you 100% that they should get Encarnacion, but with the Moreland signing, I don't think they are willing to spend the money.
  4. I don't understand why Billionaires would care about having to dish out a few more million $ to improve the team (luxury tax). An extra $5 or $10 million with a payroll close to $200 million is supposed to make you think twice?
  5. why why why are you bunting there with 2 strikes! Terrible.
  6. I like this team, I don't blame them for how the season ends. I blame Farrell and the FO. 99% of my issues has been with their decision making, not the players. I mean, sure, I hate Panda, but I hate it because of the stupid money they threw at him, knowing the issues he has and the fact that he isn't worth half of what he got strictly in production. I look forward to next year and seeing the kids improve, but it sucks Papi is gone. Really sucks. Bad. Farrell has to go though. I'll lose my mind if they let him stick around for next season.
  7. This whole team has looked incredibly tense the entire series. That is on Farrell. He has to calm these guys down. I mean, hell, they should have had no expectations coming in to this series. Forget that they won the division, no one was expecting them to make the playoffs this year. They should be out there trying to prove they belong, they aren't a fluke. They shouldn't be feeling pressure like they are the 90s Yankees and people expect a championship every year...
  8. The team got hot. It had nothing to do with Farrell. He let this team fall apart the last week of the season and has them playing scared. They had a 2 run deficit last night with the cy young winner on the mound... You're telling me the team thought that wasn't winnable? It's only looking so bad right now because they are vomiting all over themselves. If they had any composure whatsoever it wouldn't be looking so bad right now. It reflects on the manager. Fair or not, it's his job.
  9. Sure, the pitching has sucked, but last night was winnable. But the entire lineup has looked like the moment is way too big, ie Mookie swinging at 3 straight garbage pitches in his first AB last night. Again, it's on Farrell. He didn't get this team ready.
  10. Does it surprise anyone how loose and confident the Guardians have looked from the get go? That's Always been Titos greatest strength. The sox look the polar opposite. Farrell has to find a way to calm our guys down and instill confidence. That's what he's paid for... As for all the "it's tough team...", so are the Guardians...
  11. The manager's job is to get the team focused, but stay loose. The entire team looks tense. That's on the manager.
  12. Yeah, home field doesn't mean anything... Literally Porcello's only bad game of the year... in the playoffs...
  13. Texas lost so we now officially have the best record in the Al with a half game over Texas! Keep the train rollin'!
  14. Yes!! Ahahahaha. Britton :crying:
  15. It's the fact that this team can't push a sing run across. They are built for on-base and getting hits, not just HRs. They have the speed to steal and put pressure on on the base paths. One run shouldn't be an issue, even against great pitching. They just need to capitalize when they have any opportunity... But they just keep squandering them instead.
  16. This team can't hit good pitching. They can hit quality pitching and crush bad pitching, but great pitching, they can't do anything. Got I figure it out before october
  17. He's a mental midget. Stop giving him a chance, this is always the outcome.
  18. Back to bad Clay...
  19. Is Sandy slower than Ortiz? He looked like it there... Thrown about by a mile. Wow
  20. Second walk-off loss by throwing the ball away on defense. Just inexcusable. Where are the fundamentals with this team?
  21. Panda killing Farrell, then I'd be screaming from the rooftops! Two birds with one stone... One can dream...
  22. On the batter interference: Rules 6.03(a)(3) and (4) Comment (Rule 6.06© and (d) Comment): "If a batter strikes at a ball and misses and swings so hard he carries the bat all the way around and, in the umpire’s judgment, unintentionally hits the catcher or the ball in back of him on the backswing, it shall be called a strike only (not interference). The ball will be dead, however, and no runner shall advance on the play" So not interference in terms of the batter, but runners must return.
