  1. Yeah, but I think that's their only fan in the entire park...
  2. That looked like it hit dirt and then the foot. Is that not challengeable?
  3. You think Farrell would let him get ready for the start if there was a legitimate injury concern? The fact is there is always a risk, especially late in the season. Farrell sounded very annoyed with him and I read that he seemed to be doing fine. It's not a good sign when your manager uses "uncomfortable" and "nervous" as reasons a player scratched themselves. Farrell is an overly cautious guy as it is, for him to call someone out for it, that's really bad.
  4. This one is squarely on E-Rod. The team is going up against one of the best pitchers in baseball, on the road, and you decided to quite on the team the night before your start? He quit on the team, it's as simple as that. If he felt alright enough to go through his weekly routine, he can pitch. If TO can play on a broken f*cking leg, I think you pitch with a tight hamstring. F*ck, I often deal with tight hammys/quads/calfs mountain running... you know what I do? I shake it off and keep going. I'm totally with Schilling on this one. You want a pitcher with killer instincts, the guy who would run through a wall for the team, the guy who will pitch through pain, will want to make every start no matter what, the guy that has to be dragged off the mound kicking and screaming. You DON'T want the guy who asks to leave a game because "my muscles are sore!" and then f*cking quits the night before their god damn start. It's late August in a race for the division. You better be f*cking limping to miss your start. You at least give it a shot. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. But telling the team the night before that you are too 'nervous' and uncomfortable? F*ck you. If I was a team mate, I'd be livid at him. Everyone is dealing with soreness and injuries. Man the f*ck up. Erod is weak sauce. We've seen this before. Great stuff, but starts becoming injury prone, and doesn't have the emotional toughness to handle pressure, etc. Sound familiar? F*ck Erod.
  5. I think we just solved Joe Kelly's problems... too much Call of Duty...
  6. I don't think it's all Farrell's fault... but his job is to get his team to play to their potential, and he hasn't. Again, not necessarily his fault, but it's his job (and if you want to argue fairness, he's getting MORE than paid generously for it). It's getting to the point that this team just need to be jolted, things need to be changed up. They just are s***ing all over themselves when the pressure is on and that reflects on the coaching. I can't stress enough that it can be an impossible job simply because it comes to a point where the player just need to do their own job, but the coaching's job rely's on the players performance, fair or not. So yeah, I'm about to the point where I think Farrell needs to go, not just because he's completely to blame, but things need to change, they players need a fire under their ass, a change of scenery, ANYTHING. They are finding ways to lose, which, as mentioned by others, is the hallmark of BAD teams. Not the direction they should be trending towards...
  7. I'm surprised I haven't been called out tonight for being negative
  8. Oh f*** it, I think this team does need to be shaken up. Can Farrell and the entire pitching staff, minors included, pitching scouts, etc. Just start from scratch. Hell, they could do 1-series auditions with new managers for all I care at this point. Can't be any worse, and it would at least be entertaining...
  9. This game could literally be the game that cost them a playoff spot.
  10. Does Curt Schilling have any interest in coaching... Ok, i kid... kind of...
  11. Drop them off in the middle of the arctic with nothing but a jacket and riffle. If they make it back, they can get their jobs back... EDIT: on second thought... not worth the risk!
  12. Good god, i'd never get anything done if I worried about possibly offending someone with something I say/write. I'm a fan, I'm going to make some brash comments. If someone gets offended, too f***ing bad. Get thicker skin.
  13. The HP ump forgot that he had to keep track of the count. Ya know, those quality, overweight MLB umps. Look at an NBA, NHL, or NFL ref then look at an MLB ump... say's a lot about the differences in the sports....
  14. I think he does, but there's not exactly a better option sitting around right now when we are trying to make the playoffs. If this team misses the playoffs, I think there's Zero chance Farrell keeps his job. Even if they win the WS, I think his job will still not be safe... Just can't do anything now unfortunately.
  15. insensitive, lol. Yeah, because saying f*** these guys to half the team isn't insensitive at all.... Anyways, it's not really any different than telling someone to go back to Georgia or something... How many times do we tell a hick to go back to Texas, but that's all right? Japan, that's insensitive... Didn't realize I had to worry about being PC here...
  16. ???? Don't like gambling on Japanese pitchers. For every Uehara, there's a dozen Dice-Ks... Not worth the risk and money IMO.
  17. Everytime I hear Farrell start to speak I can't change the station fast enough. I honestly worry listening might someone lower my intelligence. Too many "that's seriously was your reasoning? really... That's it?" and he talks sooooo slow, as I'm sure it takes him a long time to figure out how to put together a sentence...
  18. Beni looks annoyed. He must be thinking "I'm in the big leagues, right? They can't even keep track of the count up here?"
  19. This team is not making the playoffs unless they get their heads straightened out. Do they need a f***ing motivational speaker and sports therapist to coddle their weak, chocking asses? They have the talent, but zero confidence.
