  1. They aren't missing, half the offense just has the day off ...
  2. When JBJ is batting 5th, you know it's going to be a struggle to plate runs... I hope Cora isn't satisfied just throwing away these last couple games before the AS break...
  3. So with Benintendi out on Bereavement leave and Devers on the DL, Pearce leg is really that sore that he can't play today? And where the hell is Moreland? Worst lineup all year.
  4. My only problem with this game is Cora leaving in Porcello way to long, when everyone could see he had absolutely nothing. Even Eck was surprised Cora waited so long to get someone warming. That's one situation you have full control over in the game.
  5. The bottom of this lineup really sucks.
  6. Would be enough if Cora wasn't sleeping in the 2nd and 3rd inning...
  7. Too many squandered opportunities...
  8. What the f*ck Cora. Why the f*ck did you keep him in so long? Why?
  9. I don't get this. You clearly see Porcello doesn't have anything and you wait THAT long to get someone warming? He should have been out of there after the single following the HR. This is insane.
  10. They need to Porcello out of there. Now.
  11. I wish they left him in. Let him eat the s*** hes thrown out there. I hope he blows his f*cking elbow out again, at least then we might have a chance for someone to step up in the clutch. This guy has more than proven he's as soft as they come
  12. Exactly. They should have never f*cked around when they had an Ace that proved he can play in Boston. Really hard way to learn that lesson. If the last decade with all the Crawford, Price, Agons, they better realize you have to be careful paying a player big bucks and putting pressure on a player coming from a organization that hasnt had success. If you have a proven player (Lester, Beltre, etc), you keep them, even if it means overpaying a little, cause odds are you wont get good return on the dollar going the cheaper route...
  13. Meanwhile Lester is 11-2 with a 2.25 ERA. #NENeverForgets Yeah, I'll never get over letting him walk. Home grown ace that 'had it' and was as clutch as they come. Ice water veins. Maybe my favorite Sox player in the last 2+ decades.
  14. Easy solution is trade Devers + for Machado. Sign him long term. Move Bogey to 3rd. Also I'm in favor of puttong Nunez on the DL and seeing how Lin can do. Screw the luxury tax, we aren't going to keep pace with the Yankees without being aggressive.
  15. They need to aquire an infielder and send Devers back to AAA, he just isnt ready. He has no clue what he's doing at the plate. 4 pitch walk before you and you swing at a ball 3 feet out of the strike zone? He just isn't MLB ready
  16. I think Pedroia is done. This would be my lineup: 1) Beni 2) Betts 3) JD 4) Moreland 5) Bogey 6) Devers 7) Holt 8) JBJ 9) Leon/Vazq if/when Moreland cools off, I'd move him to 5 or 6 and have Bogey/Devers 4/5. I think Betts needs to be in the 2 spot. Give him more opportunities with a higher OBP guy in front of him then the trash 6-9 and a chance to get a 2-run shot in the 1st rather than just a solo shot. With Beni, high OBP, has doubles power, good runner to so you don't worry about clogging the bases. JD should hit 3rd. He should get as many ABs as possible behind Betts. Then 4-6 can morph a bit maybe depending on whos hot. So for now it's Moreland-Bogey-Devers.
  17. To be fair we have no depth right now. Nunez is damaged goods, Swihart is useless, they released Hanley. All they really have is Holt. That's it. They need a piece or two. What do we do if Jackie gets cold again? Pedrioa can't be counted to stay healthy.
  18. Seriously, our bench is terrible. We need a real 4th outfielder or at least another bat that can DH and use JD as the 4th OF. And Holt needs to play instead of Nunez. He's damaged goods.
  19. Holy crap, I know Nunez has a bad knee, but good god, he looked like he was running in quicksand. Is that really as fast as he could run? He looked like he was about to stumble and face plant. Get him out of there.
  20. Who was looking for Morelands first HR? lol. I haven't seen the team this locked in since the end of '04 and '07
  21. Haha, the Twins were pissed with the bunt single to breakup a no hitter. Is everyone a cry baby now? No hitter are earned, not given. No hitter should go 'easy' for any reason. Don't want to get embarrassed by a bunt single... stop with the ridiculous over shifts. Teams are so soft today...
  22. I generally like the patient strategy to make the pitchers work... but it does get really frustrating when it becomes so automatic that guys are watching the first pitch go right down the middle of the plate; fat, hit-able pitches; then proceed to strike out on 3 or 4 pitches. I love working up pitch counts, but when you get a good pitch to hit, you have to swing at it. That might be the only good pitch you get all at bat, maybe even all game. While it's true you don't want to let a pitcher off the hook on pitch 1 or in a 3-0 count... you also don't want to let them off the hook by taking a fat pitch, begging to be crushed.
  23. If they somehow win this, it HAS to be Sale today. You can't trot out Porcello tomorrow or else you might as well just forfeit.
  24. Are you referring to Lenny DiNardo?
  25. Vazquez has been awesome this year, far exceeding expectations at the plate. What more do you want?
