  1. Bradley is a year off, Jacoby will make an opening for him when he heads west next year. Brentz and Swihart are not sure things, but if they do make it, it won't be for at least 2 years. And at that point there will be openings in LF and Vic will have one year left. Vic was a good veteran signing in an OF that is getting ready to go through a youth movement over the course of his 3 year deal. You might not like that it's 3 years, but give the Sox FO some credit for getting him at 3 years instead of matching the Guardians 4 year offer.
  2. Yes but it's all short term money. If they had received the Marlins package it would have been a long term commitment with players marginally better then the group they just shipped off. It didn't make sense.
  3. I like watching it for the "tournament" aspect of it. I'm glad most of the important Sox players aren't playing though.
  4. Your better off trying to convince a stop sign it's green.
  5. Buchholz 150-160? He managed 189 last season with a DL stint. 173 in 2010. yes his durability is an issue, but even in seasons he's battling injuries he's going above 150. I don't think they will expect more then 160ish for Lackey this year.
  6. Rolen would be more useful. Especially when Ortiz comes back. But I wouldn't be against Thome. He's a class act.
  7. They were involved by Miami wanted Bogaerts and Bradley while wanting the Sox to pick up the entire bill(something along those lines). So it was an obvious pass.
  8. Garza is gonna miss the first month of the season. His name has been floated around here a lot the last year or so. That could have been a disaster.
  9. Ya but on the reverse side most Sox games don't start until 1am here.
  10. They have 5 ML SP. Again just like everyone else your complaining about, they don't need to make a spot for them now. There's no point. He's injury insurance. Chances are he will be on the team at some point this year. Relax.
  11. Yes it's been the same guy every time.
  12. Ya it was nothing spectacular at the plate, but some positives for sure. His defense was the best thing of the day. He made 3 or 4 really nice plays.
  13. Please tell me you called him "Mr. Cherries"
  14. No he doesn't. He's coming off TJS and needs to be brought along slowly. He will be on the team eventually just like Bradley and Bogaerts. And like in the case of those two. There is no reason for them to start the season in Boston.
  15. Speaking of the commentary during the game, I kind of enjoyed the 2 broadcast teams together. Having the career Al'er and NL'er, it was interesting to hear them talk about the different cities and styles of the two leagues. I mean most baseball fans would know the differences anyway but it was a good listen regardless. He could have gone out to give him a breather, but when it comes to a KB pitcher, there isn't much the P coach is good for.
  16. He just made another diving play to start a DP. Dude can play 3B Nos.nl for anyone who wants to try and watch the game online. He leads off next inning I think.
  17. For those who are interested Bogaerts has made a couple spectacular plays on 3B in the 4 innins so far. Diving play to start the game. 0-1 with a BB at the plate so far.
  18. I'm mad at myself for laughing at this
  19. Whats the upside in trading him now? Bradley has had like 300 AB's at AA. Last time I checked he wasn't Harper or Trout. So I don't see the need to create a spot for him when they really don't need to.
  20. If he has a good season Boras will price him out of Boston as weird as that sounds. Ellsbury has value right now but it's hurt by his injury history. It's best to hold onto him and hope he stays healthy and produces to increase his trade value. It's good for all scenarios. Jacoby good, Red Sox stink, they trade him to a contender. A Beltran type return is very possible. If Jacoby is good and the Red Sox are good, they keep him, offer him a QO and collect the pick from Seattle after they give him 100M+ lol. If they both stink they can trade him for whatever as they probably won't be offering a QO anyways. And Bradley comes up to replace him, giving us all something to look forward to next season. The other scenario is trade him now for probably lackluster return, rush Bradley from AA to ML and hope it doesn't screw him up.
  21. And there it is. I was wondering when your agenda would pop up. Your emotional tie up with Ells is whats not letting you see logic when it comes to Bradley.
