  1. My biggest knock on Cano is he seems really streaky. He's either absolutely destroying it or in a slump.
  2. It's nothing concrete
  3. I don't see the need to jump a guy right away from AA. It's ST. You can't judge if he's "ready" or not by these games. Especially in the first week. Pitchers are almost working exclusively on FB's. It's very easy to guess right in ST. There's no reason he should start out in AAA for a couple months. And when your talking about the possible CF'er of the future who looks like he could be a game changer, you don't shave a year of control off him for an extra 2 months at the start of a season. I don't care if your KC or not. If he is as good as we all hope that would probably cost the team an extra 20M in the long run(5M estimate for Super 2 status, 15M for the year of control they lose at the end). LAA and WAS both teams with plenty of money started Harper and Trout in the minors to start the season to save a year on control.
  4. As a bench player for 3B and maybe 1B he would be fine. But they might as well see what they have in Overbay, Carp, and Nava for a few weeks. Not like teams are beating down Rolens door.
  5. Why would it shrink? I could understand if you said the offer won't increase. But I don't see him signing for less then 7/171M now. That's the risk in trying to extend a Boras client. They now have given him a floor to work with. If they seriously wanted to extend him they should have tried last ST(maybe they did? idk for sure obviously). Boras isn't going to walk away from his favorite way of doing business when they are so close.
  6. It's pointless to start his service clock now. They can bring him up in May/June and not lose a year of team control. Some decisions are not all about the "now".
  7. 7/171M is the rumored offer. I said he get 7/175M, he's probably going to get more now if that's really the Yanks first offer.
  8. Looks like the Yanks are trying. I will still be surprised if he signs before testing the market, unless it's some absurd offer from the Yanks.
  9. It's the first week of an extended ST. And and all bumps, soreness, ripping of scar tissue should be handled carefully. There's no reason push it now. I'm not saying he should be stopping baseball activities. He should continue to hit and field, but kept out of live games for a couple days. I don't think it's a huge deal either way if they play him tomorrow or later this weekend.
  10. Ya I didn't see why they couldn't give him a few days off. Maybe they will but they are basically saying its not a serious injury and if we wanted to he could play tomorrow. Not sure what context Farrell was using the phrase.
  11. They are saying he could play tomorrow.
  12. And who do they replace Ells with? Why not keep him for a couple months and dangle him closer to the deadline? There is no reason to move him now and promote Bradley.
  13. I'm a big Ellsbury supporter. But there is no reason to dump all that money on him. Ells is gone next season, everyone including my GF should enjoy the time he has left. I give him a %5 chance of being with the Sox next season.
  14. Tearing scare tissue is very painful. I have a player who is coming back from shoulder surgery and he's just getting back into throwing and hes had some scar tissue build up and tear away. Glad to hear Middlebrooks is looking better. I saw the swing when it happened last night and it look awful.
  15. It's quiet... Too quiet...
  16. I'm not 100% but I was pretty sure as a RHH he was hit in the left wrist. edit: Yup it was his right wrist. Not good at all. Bogaerts may be getting a shot sooner rather then later.
  17. He broke his left wrist. Looks like he just injured the right one. Regardless, it did not look good at all.
  18. And there goes Middlebrooks...
  19. It won't matter. If they aren't good he will say I told you so. If they are good and make the playoffs, they will have gotten lucky.
  20. I agree with Jacko. I don't think he is in Boston before June unless there is a splurge of injuries in the OF.
  21. This guy is extremely bored. 3 profiles in 3 days? Get a life dude.
  22. They wouldn't wait until 2019. By not bringing him to the majors this season it would delay his service clock. And because of that he would still be around in 2019 hypothetically instead of hitting the FA market.
  23. The trade and what they do with the money are separate from from each other. The trade was a excellent and smart baseball move. What they do with the flexibility gained in the trade will not make the trade better or worse.
