  1. I know Banuelos was coming back from TJ but that seems like selling low on him. Did he have no chance to remain a SP?
  2. Me either. I think Hamels will play better in SD. The only Ace scenario I like currently is the one where Scherzer goes to Detroit and they trade Price. I'd be more comfortable giving up pieces for Price and hope the Sox took a real stab at extending him(which I know will be difficult). But 6/150M would make him think.
  3. Just trimming the 40 man it looks like.
  4. I think they have been pretty smart so far but there is still a lot of time left for like you said the Steins to be silver tongued by Boras. If they manage to avoid bad deals the next couple years they will pretty much be able to get whomever they want after.
  5. Not sure why it's a bummer? I think he's a huge risk for anyone signing him. I'm not sure the Yanks are going to go stupid money on him even if they are interested. It seems like they are learning or finally learned about signing guys into their late 30's. I think Boras might be able to get a "stupid" offer out of the Nats.
  6. I've cold off a bit on Hamels. His history against the AL is spotty at best and unless he comes without giving up top prospects(unlikely) I'm not interested at this point.
  7. Let's not forget the it was Hanley that reached out to the Sox and offered to change positions. I'm not sure Hanley would be here otherwise. And that may seem like a lot for a DH but considering Vmart landed what 17-18M aav on his deal to be a DH, it's not an insane jump.
  8. That's awesome man congratz!
  9. Merry Christmas boys!
  10. I knew it was something shady
  11. How dare you disagree with me lol
  12. It's been pretty good around here this off season, no one wants any meltdown before xmas
  13. It's an internet forum. While it should stay reasonable, people are going to call you out on your "opinions", so you might as well get used to it. Yours and others opinions being considered "wrong or right" by other members is what keeps sites like this going. Not everyone is going to pat you on the back for every gem you come up with lol
  14. I'm ok with what they have now but would like to see them add a proven #1. Whether they do that at the TDL or next off season does make a ton of difference for me at the moment. I'm interested to see what this motley crew can do. I'm with Ex1, there is no one I trade Swihart, Betts or Bogaerts for. Owens would sting but I could deal with it.
  15. http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/54109/james-shields-is-a-risky Good article for those banging the Shields drum.
  16. I think it be great to see him, but from what I read 2015 seems a bit early.
  17. I was with you til the last bit. No way Hanigan is the starter. No way. This season will be a showcase for Vazquez for better or worse. Hanigan is Ross 2.0
  18. So you are saying iortiz sorts people by race? haha
  19. They even wear their socks different
  20. Porcello in the same basket as Capuano? lmfao Seriously dude, how do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you say s*** like this? I mean you have internet, so you can obviously look this stuff up. There is almost nothing comparable between the 2.
  21. Dice-K had 3 months stretches at "Ace" levels lol. Let's pump the breaks with Tanaka being an Ace. He's a good P but to be an Ace you have to do it on a consistent basis for seasons, not months. Calling Tanaka an Ace is a slap in the face to guys like Kershaw, Hernadez and Wainwright.
  22. At his age his reliability is at a point where it will start working against him at some point. His arm is high mileage and a crap shoot, too risky for a 5 year deal imo. Maybe he stays a horse the entire 5 year deal but I see him falling off as the more likely scenario.
  23. Reports are Yanks are not going after Scherzer still. One of the theories says the team is quietly going to rebuild with an eye towards 2017. I could see them not doing anything big this year but I'd be shocked if they really don't dabble in next seasons FA pool for SP.
  24. They could be setting up a deal for now tho. What were they at payroll wise? I thought they had some room and now an extra 8M might be enough for them to get Scherzer and not spend more then the 215M someone mentioned earlier? Or they really could be standing pat for the next season or 2 and letting the dead weight fall off before going big again. If they hold out the next year or 2 they will be able to basically get anyone they want for the next 5 years or so lol
  25. With all the health ? the Yanks have I think Prado will be missed this year. After that it could look ok depending on Eovaldi's progression. He was ML leader in hits last season so he has a lot of work. But having the big FB is a leg up. Can't teach that.
