    I just got home from our first outdoor training(it's been cold here), needless to say I'm in full baseball mood and am excited for today's game :thumbsup: Red Sox win 7-2, Bradley hits first career HR of RP late in the game to seal it

    At least Sweeney has been cut. I think that's something everyone can get on board with.

    Nava was probably not a favorite to make the team out of camp. I think when they signed Gomes the plan was him to be the everyday LF or possibly platoon with Kalish. Lots changed since December lol Kalish and Ortiz are hurt, Gomes GPS broke so LF looks shaky and JBJ has burst onto the scene.

    What? lol Bradley will be starting in LF while Ortiz is out. He's not going to sit around on the bench. Of course Boras thinks they can co exist, he wants Bradley's service time to start ASAP.

    idk I get the feeling Either will be a Yankee before long. Dodgers got that kid Puig that's ready to break onto the big league club. No one is taking Crawford and they aren't trading Kemp. SO while they may be down this season, I expect them to reload rather quickly.

    Ya I have to agree, I'm not sure any of the guys are worth those kind of deals. I mean it's one shoulder injury from being an absolute disaster.

    Ideally I would like to see Ells Pedroia Middlebrooks Napoli Vic Gomes Salty Bradley Iggy Middlebrooks is hitting the best at the moment, so that's way I'd bump him to #3. But I believe it will be closer to what User posted.

    The most productive thing Sweeney could do for the Sox is get cut and sign with the Yankees.

    Beltre turned down a 3 or 4 year deal from Oakland to sign a one year pillow deal in Boston.

    Ya I'm not gonna be too upset if/when they cut him. I find Nava to be a much more useful player.

    I wasn't directing it at anyone in particular, just these are the two responses I expect to see post Yankees series. If they win the series, it won't matter, if they lose I guarantee someone is going to start talking about how much trouble their in. I was merely pointing out that we may be over analyzing/hyping the Yankees series just a touch.

    Yankees win opening series- "Sox are boned" Red Sox win opening series- "Still have 16 games left against them, plenty of time for the Yanks to come back"

    But my whole point was in this moment right now it sucks being a Yankee fan with the teams situation. Previous playoff appearances don't mean jack crap for this current season. It's March, it's a time for optimism for your team and the season coming up. Yankee fans have pretty much lost that and it's not even April. Would you take the Yanks roster over the Sox right now just because the Yankees have made the playoffs the last 3 seasons and the Sox have not?

    I think Salty at most will be catching 3/5 of the rotation. The other guys will be playing(assuming health) almost everyday. While Salty's defensive prowess will hurt to some degree, I don't think it completely negates what defense the others will provide.

    Sox fans can bitch all they want about the state of the team, but a guy that just got cut by the Sox is an upgrade for the Yanks, being a Yankee fan sucks extra hard right now.
