  1. I went to Astronaut High in Titusville, we played Merrit Island all the time... Just thought it was cool that I knew where your talking about LOL
  2. Eventually Moss will have to shut up and play or not play at all, hes getting up there in age and is on the wrong side of his prime. I think he will take that into consideration if he comes to NE. He can't bitch about the QB, because the QB has won 3 SB's, and if there is any coach in the league that might beable to get threw to Moss it is probably Bill. Foxsports.com in there mock draft(updated since the combine) have the Pats taking Meacham the WR from Tenn. in the first round, I cant remeber who they had them take in there 2nd 1st round pick. I still wish the trade about 4 or 5 picks to Oakland so they could draft C. Johnson. Dude is going to be a monster, and could be our #1 WR for years to come. Id trade both 1st rounders this year, and maybe another late round pick, and a couple late rounders in next years draft for him. Players like Johnson come around once in a blue moon. But thats just me....
  3. I have all the time to do that.... But they don't have the game here yet.... Thats one of the only things that I havent liked about living here, is we get everything later then you guys do.... But hopefully I will beable to get it within the next couple of months and maybe we can all start a league!
  4. I wonder why it is so hard for baseball games to get the contracts right. Madden does a pretty good job with contracts, why can't the baseball games?
  5. when the final rosters where done, matsuzaka might not have been signed, or they might not have had his permission to use his image ect. Just like Bonds is always some other name, but the LF is always a left handed hitting black guy. How are the contracts set up in the game? Is it alot of guys are signed for one yr then there FA? And is the game play harder with the new pitching( I read that the pitchers comfort level with a pitch helps or hinders its effectivness). Is the fielding smooth? I can't wait until it gets here, but i'm holding out for the PS3 version, it has a new mode where you plays from your created players persective on offense and defense no matter which position you play, and I heard its pretty bad ass...
  6. Besides Schilling just started that game company, Green Monster games or something, he wants to stay in Boston. He basically asked to see if he could get extended one yr( even he admits he knew it was doubtful), but the FO said no we need to see how you pitch this yr. He brought up the hole I will become a FA if they don't sign me now as the only bit of leverage he had, just incase they where on the fence and that might make them lean towards signing him, but the FO was not teetering, they where on the lets wait side already. He knew this was a possibility too and said this wont be a distraction, so lets take him on his word and wait and see what he does. If he switches gears and becomes a pain in the ass or whatever, or leaves in the offseason for more money or years thats on him. He said all he wanted was 1 yr and 13M.
  7. And if he pitches well, we win, and we offer him his one yr deal for 13M or so and he turns it down and goes elsewhere, then thats on him not the FO and theres nothing we can do about it. If he has a bad season and we decide we dont want him for 13M, like I said before, we would most likely be able to bring a kid up from the system to put up comparable numbers for a fraction of the cost. If he goes 12 and 12 this yr with a 4 plus ERA, thats not too hard to replace. If he does good and wins say another 15 games and bolts, we could use the 13M to brin in another good bat, and if thats the case with a powerhouse offense any pitcher could pick up 15 wins for us.
  8. Seabeach, I love Schilling and hope he stays but I am most def. on the side saying wait to sign him, you can tell the difference in what kind of fan everyone is, the so called anti schillings are people who look at this situation from a buisness stand point, and if they sign him now it is a bad buisness decision, but the other side are the guys who like a good baseball story, and would give anything to keep the old war heros around. Not that either side is right or wrong but that seems to be the main difference.
  9. besides we already payed for what Schilling did in 04, we took a chance and gave him an exension before he ever threw a pitch during the season, we payed him to come here and win a WS. He did, now its a new ball game, so as far as us oweing him anything is BS. All we owe him is our graditude for what he did, as far as money goes we have already given it to him. Now if they win this yr and Schilling is a big part of it then yes we would owe him a 1 yr deal.
  10. I'm not dutch BTW LOL I moved here from Florida and am originally from Maine( hence why im a Sox and Pats fan:) But thanks for seeing my point...LOL
  11. Foulke was just as important as Schilling, but when he declined and couldn't hold it together for a whole season we let him go.... no one was up in arms about that tho....
  12. ....Schilling pitched good pre all star break....... he wasn't any better after the AS break then the other chumps we sent out there..... he has to proove he can do it over a hole yr........
  13. If we signed everyone for what they did in 04, we would have a very old and s***** team. There would be no Matsuzaka,Papelbon, We would have Pedro sitting on the shelf, Muehller reitired, Millar playing first( good guy, not that great of a player) bellhorn be at 2nd, and Nixon in RF falling apart infront of our eyes.
  14. ERRRRRRR.... poeple stop bringing up the 15 wins... he had 10 of the God Damn things before the AS break. We know he is good for half a season, but what we don't know is if he can continue it all year. 13M is alot for a pitcher that can only help for half a year. Let him pitch, if he does good then give him his one yr and maybe a little more then 13M, and if not let him go on his merry way. Everyone stop looking at this from a fan perpective! If that was the persepective of the FO we have a bunch of 35+ yr olds playing for us. This is a buisness, and if you run a buisness on hopes and prayers your gonna fall flat on your face. Yes Id love to see Schilling finish his career in Boston for what he did in 04, but am not willing to hand him 13M+ for and over weight pitcher who is only good for half the season.
  15. Ok guys heres my 2 cents worth... As bad is it may sound, Schilling is an un proven commodity as of right now. His 2nd half last yr was horrible, we don't know for sure whether or not he can go a whole season or not. And believe me I'm not anti-Schilling, but the way the Sox office is handling this is the correct way. It is a bad buisness decision to allocate 13M of the 08 payroll for a player you are not sure is worth it in 07. You guys that think he should get a contract extension just because of what he did in 04 need to take a step back, take a breath and think about it again. Schilling was great that yr don't get me wrong, but Pedro,Lowe,OC,Millar,Roberts,Foulke,Muellher,Damon, they all had a part in it too but were not screaming at the FO for letting them go(except for Damon, but in all honesty it wast the 3rd and 4th yrs of the contract they where worried about, so we will come back to that one maybe next yr) Pedro, people didn´t want to see him go but look at him now, won´t pitch until late 07. We would still have him under contract for 2 more years if we had given in just because of what he did in 04, and be stuck with no Pedro and the money on his contract. Lowe, his contract looks good now but in 04 it was a bit hi for a #3-#4 pitcher. OC, good SS but nothing wonderful, but did handle the pressure in Boston not bad. Millar, whoever said that all the replacements we found for these guys is wrong, Millar good 04 was enough to bring him back for 05(because he was also pretty cheap too) but he stunk to hi hell in 05 and Youk was atleast a notch better then compared to him. Muellher, can´t play anymore Damon, see above... Theres a saying( cant remeber exact phrasing) If GM´s listened or did there jobs like fans, they would soon be sitting next to them in the stands.... or along those lines, but in all honesty, this is why none of us are GM´s. We love the nastalga of things, we want to see our hero Schilling finish his career with the Sox, and Clemens too for that matter and all of the other players we have loved so much. But if we did that wed be a 3rd place team, with a bunch of over payed old players. And that is the plain truth of the matter. Thats why people like Theo and company are GM,FO people, they can seperate themselves from the fan part of the game. There Job is to put a winning team on the field, if they don´t the have to answer to the owners, the fans ect. They cant have that sentiment,or atleast show it when it comes to these decisions. Guys if schilling comes out and has a great 07 then the team will most likely give him the extension. He said he would play for 13M and he wasn´t looking for a raise, so if he files for FA and them leaves the team for more money or guranteed yrs then thats on him. We also have to consider that hes been saying his last season is 07, and in doing that, the FO might have the 13M he wants ear marked for other things. Because you know its not just this season the FO thinks about, its also the future wellfare of the club too. I for one would rather see them put the 13M towards a hitter next off season. If schilling really is declining then it wont be hard for a rookie pitcher to put up comparable numbers for a fraction of the price.
  16. Ya I see that now, the first story I read on it said it was his forearm, and it made me think back to when Detroit shut him down last yr around the trade deadline(his name was being mentioned in trade rumors), I thought then that detroit was trying to keep his injury low profile and I thought it turned back up. But I stand corrected. A Little elbow flaring isn't too bad just as long as it doesn't persist like Liriano's did last yr and turn into a TJ surgery...
  17. Matsuzaka- he hasalways been a little pudgy, if anything he looks to be in better shape. Schilling- He's the one over weight. Abreu- Jackson I can't believe you tried to pass that s*** off as logical, you come up with some head scratchers all the time but this one takes the cake. Oblique injury's can be nagging so it is wise they are keeping eye on him for the next couple weeks. Sanchez- That o so wonderful pickup you having been drueling over for the last couple of months or so is hurt. In all other reports I have seen it as a forearm strain not the elbow. Hmmmm could this be the same forearm strain that made Detroit shut him down for part of last yr? Now thats something to worry about. Pavano- Is anyone really surprised?
  18. It's not hard to bruise anything on Pavano...
  19. Well maybe I should have said nobody looks to be interested in Russell as a QB besides Oakland.
  20. They should just re-name the MRI to the Pavano... Pavano is going to have some unforseen ailment when he gets older from all the MRI's he has had to take...
  21. I think Pedroia will get passed his slow start last season when he got his call up, and be a good #9 hitter with good D. Who cares about HR from 2B, what did Loretta hit last yr like 5?
  22. I think if Oakland doesn't draft him he won't be int he top 15 as a pick. Nobody behind Oakland needs a QB really, maybe Washington, but i'd see Gibbs taking Quinn before Russell.
