  1. That does seem likely, besides his stuff hasn't been to bad either. Didn't he have a nice scoreless streak going? No problem not stepping on my toes at all, I don't get to see alot of the games and I fall behind a little bit sometimes, so hes not looking that great huh? That sucks but I still don't think they will give the closer job to wacky Taveras. He does allow way too many base runners and tends to lose his mind at some point as well. If they name Taveras closer, Jacko will probably lose a load in his pants and laugh until his sides burst...
  2. If we didn't do it for Pedro, then where not doing it for Schilling... We owe Schilling NOTHING, we payed him for him helping bring a WS to Boston, thats why he was under contract last year, his option was vested when they won it all. He will stay in Boston, his f***ing game company is called like Green Monster gaming or some s***, He wants to stay people. He was just trying to get a couple more years guranteed without having to proove himself. He knew the chances of that were very small and, and now him saying he will hit FA is his last bit of leverage to try and get his year extension. It didn't work and now he knows he has to proove himself. Although he could have thought the Sox would give him a yr extension because he is so popular in Boston, thats probably why he came to camp looking 8 months pregnant. As much as everyone hates to hear it, this is a buisness choice And a smart one, you don't allocate big money on a player when your not sure if he is worth it. If the f***ing Yankees won't give MO a contract before the season( this man might be the biggest part of all the championships season and division titles) then nobody should get one. His case is alot like Schillings, both had decent seasons last yr but both are injury risks and there skills could possibly see a sharp decline soon.
  3. I'll stick with my original prediction and say Pinerio. All this crap about Taveras is retarded, both Donnely and Pinerio are having better springs and Taveras plunks more guys then he gets out. I think they are still looking quietly for a trade, there saying its going to be one of these guys because they don't want other ball clubs to try and bend them over when it comes to trading for someone. If you come out and say Oh my God our BP is s***** and full of dumass's and we have no closer options at all, and we will have to trade for some one, every team out there will be drooling waiting for you to call so they can take advantage of you. If you say you think your BP is good and that you have internal options at the closer spot you feel will get the job done you don't seem nearly as desperate, the more leverage in trade talks you will have. This is the reason Theo plays everything so close to his vest.
  4. I love Wells but i'm not shocked by this really...

    Crawford

Just a general question, What would you trade for Carl Crawford? I would have to say just about anyone in the farm system would be available. Just figured this stimulate som conversation, its a slow day.
  6. Has anyone else been following the story of Josh Hamilton? For those who don't know he's a quick run down, 99' #1 pick of the Devil Rays Injuries and Drug suspensions have kept him out of baseball since like 02' I think.(Cocaine) He's a recovering addict and he started playing baseball again last summer, TB didn't protect him so in the rule 5 draft the Cubs picked him up and traded him to Cincy, and now hes tearing it up. He looks like the 5 tool prospect that was drafted in 99'. Guy is looking good and will probably break camp with the Reds. Just was wondering if anyone else thought this was a pretty amazing thing. I mean people talk of Sammy taking one yr off and having a hard time coming back, but this guy was gone for like 4 yrs and looks like he never left the game. Cincy may have found a real Gem here.
  7. Id take OAK,TOR,MIN pitching staffs over NY's. I'd also take F. Hernedez, Kazmir over anyone in NY's rotation besides Wang. Hughes does look good tho I will have to admit.
  8. 1.Detroit 2.Boston 3.Cleveland 4.LAD 5.Whitesox 6.LAA 7.Oakland 8.Minnesota( with Liriano its probably higher) 9.Florida( young but good) 10.Toronto Thats my top 10
  9. ummm ya....
  10. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070315&content_id=1844351&vkey=spt2007news&fext=.jsp Pretty much says there no chance of it getting done. If Hansen doesn't figure out something about his delivery, I wouldn't mind seeing them deal him. But he might come out of it. He needs to be in AAA this season. Last yrs pitching coach really f***ed this guy up, I mean throwing a baseball shouldn't look like your throwing a shock put, and I don't see how his new delivery is more healthy for his arm.
  11. Actually if he leaves NY without a WS, then Boston is the only other big stage out there. If he went somewhere on the West coast and won, critics would be like he couldn't win on the big stage. The only other town that I can think of if he won with and the critics would forget his NY blunders is maybe for the Cubs, but thats only because they havent won in a century.
  12. Ouch...... What about the Jewelry?

    WWE

I had Thanksgiving dinner with Batista a couple years ago, right before he left HHH and Ric Flair, hes a cool guy.
  14. Maybe, I'll be honest I don't know a whole lot about him, how good is he? Whats his stuff like? And most importantly what will he cost us?
  15. I could see them getting rid of Crisp before Pena, if not just for the fact that Ellsbury is basically the same type of player who's younger and cheaper.
  16. He's just creating a scapegoat to get out of Dodge when the season is over. If they win the WS he will leave saying he accomplished what he wanted to in NY and it is time for him to move on, and if they lose most NY fans will blame him or something along those lines and he will depart NY saying it was the fans fault. Worse case scenario for you guys if they win a WS and A-ROD is a big part of it, you guys extend him 3 or 4 yrs and he reverts back to his choking in OCT. days for the rest of his career... But atleast you would win the Series... I see this last one as the most far fetched of my scenarios too...
  17. JD's HR was a pretty nice shot...
  18. Send Kyle Snyder for him, he will probably not make the team out of camp and is out of options. I mean do this if hes not going to make the club instead of putting him on waivers and getting nothing. Maybe he will make a servicable RP tho. I'd be up for sending Abe Alvarez for him too.
  19. AK. has no buisness being in the tourney, Syracuse, Drexel and a few other deserved to be there more, Midwest- Florida West- UCLA East- Texas South- Ohio ST. Champions.... OHIO ST.! My sleeper team is Arizona...
  20. It's basically a one yr deal tho, he will be a FA or be asked to restructure the deal after this season. Hes owed like 11M for the 2nd season of the contract, so I doubt he will see it, but for next season its a great sign, Stallworth as the deep threat with Welker being the posession guy and sprinkle in Caldwell, Gaffney and Jackson and its a decent WR crew especially with Brady dishing the ball around. All in all the offseason has beenpretty good for the Pats, hopefully the lock up Samuel long term, and it will be interesting to see who they pick up in the Draft.
  21. Hey SeaBeachFred... Sounds like your Man of the Cloth has a little Envy problem, you should remind him that hes not allowed to do that and he shouldn't pass judgment on anyone or any team and that is for God to decide... I love messing with the clergy foke LOL
  22. I for one am glad matsuzaka got slapped around a little. It just gets it out of the way. The one thing I notcied is he dominated the ML guys and gave up the two bombs to nobodys. I'll take that, because whats he gonna face during the season? ML and not invitees that nobody has never heard of or knows anything about. And hes going to get knocked around every once in awhile, I mean all the stud pitchers in the league right now get knocked around from time to time, just as long as he has more quality/dominate starts then ones he gets knocked around then he will be good. As for Pedroia, my expectations of him are very miniscule. Don't get me wrong I like him, but as far as him producing big for the team i'm not concerned with it. If he plays decent D and gets on base at a decent clip then thats about all I expect out of him.
  23. Who cares about being too LH, The only pitchers you would have to worry about are, Santanna, Sabbathia, Kazmir, Buherle, BJ Ryan, Pettite. Those are really the only big lefties to worry about, add Liriano if he comes back healthy in 08, so being LH heavy isnt that bad because most pitchers you face are RH.
  24. WOW if thats a pretty good difference, not even close looking. Scaffolds what did you smoke before said game took place?LOL And did you share with the announcers?
  25. The thing that gets me is Scaffolds says hes a scout but he thinks Hansen pitched.... Weird...... But all the box scores now say Burns....
