  1. They have trouble vs Leftys with decent stuff, Igawa has very mediocre stuff, I don't think Papi or Drew would have too much difficulty with him.
  2. It just never made much sense to me. I think they were going to put him in RF and platoon with Nixon and be his replacement this year, but then they saw what a crappy RF he made in Fenway, they then realized he couldnt be the future RF so they went and got Drew. Now with no options they can't stick him in AAA or AA were he belongs, because someone is desperate enough to claim him off waivers. Now he has to wait until someone needs a day off to get any AB's and that won't usually help your swing. So he looks like a tool on most night which has killed his trade value. So if they trade him it will be $.50 on the $1 at best, so they will ride it out and keep as the 4th OF until maybe the TDL and send him off for maybe a MR if they need it, or he will continue to ride the pine until Manny departs and then they will probaly try to hide his Defensives woes in LF...
  3. I don't see him getting back to the majors this year, maybe some starts or appearences in the minors, or if our MR situation is horrid, I wish they could dump him in a trade as an add on, but I doubt anyone would take him before he throws... I dont think the Yankees are even that desperate for pitching...
  4. Ya and Igawa won't fool anyone either. Igawa should never start against the Red Sox, or Blue Jays, or anyone with a decent line up, he sucks and should on be in the BP or spot start against horrible offensive teams like LAA...
  5. I heard on the radio this morning Hughes might only be up for 1 start, not sure if it is BS or not... Edit: Igawa sucks... The minors won't cure the fact that all he has is off speed stuff... Cashman paid half the price for Igawa that we did for Dice-K, the only problem he is about an 1/8 of the pitcher...
  6. So who misses out Igawa? Or will he go for Kartsens in game 1?
  7. I think he will be packaged for a BP arm around the deadline honestly... Im not really sure I were I stand on Cerrano, I see the potential that alot of people talk about, but then again there is a reason I calm him Pedro Cerrano...
  8. Looks like Pettite will be pitching in the Boston series...
  9. If your Starting rotation only give you 6 innings every single night your BP will be burned out by August. Every now and then they need a night off, so you need a starter to get 8+ innings occasionally...
  10. Of course everyone be ripping Theo. Then you would get the people in the argument that would say the NL East is far easier then the AL East. Of course then he would probably regress the following year and everyone would think it was a smart move to waive him. If he did well people would be all pissed we let him go, if he stunk it up and was out of baseball byt the time he turned 28 everyone would rave about how much of a great move it was.
  11. Whatever he is able to do, he will likely never dawn a Red Sox uniform again, hes a FA at the end of the year and I doubt the FO will want to keep him around...
  12. Game 1- Dice-K vs Kartsens Game 2- Wakefield vs Igawa Game 3- Tavarez vs Wang I think these games could go either way, Id take Dice K in game one, a wash in game 2 and Wang game three. I hope after JT got slapped around last night that they will consider throwing someone else in that game. I doubt Lester would be ready in time, and thats a tough debut @ NYY. Maybe Hansack, or they will just throw JT again and down a bottle of Malox and see what happens.
  13. If he is looking for a ring then Boston is his best chance right now. Yes you may have a better offense but your team has prooven that just Offense can't win it all by itself. Boston has the better pitching by far, and are way better set up for a 5 and 7 game series at this point...
  14. Jacko weren't you preaching all winter that it was better for Hughes to stay in the minors all year and polish his Change up? I'm interested in seeing how he will do as well, just think if he fails he might be the biggest let down in Yankees history after all the press this kid has had. I don't think he will flat out suck, I means he can't be any worse then the garbage that has been taking the mound for you guys lately...
  15. Did anyone just consider ignoring Gom's thread instead of validating it by responding? Anyways Go Sox! Bust out the brooms!!!!!!!!
  16. Lets go sox!!!!!!!!
  17. Your BP has been about as impenetrable as Paris Hilton...
  18. LT made right move and denyed being the man, its not worth it LOL NFL MVP Tomlinson turns down Madden '08 cover? LaDainian Tomlinson's business manager confirmed yesterday that the Chargers running back turned down the opportunity to grace the cover of the John Madden '08 video game, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. LaMar Andrews said EA Sports, which makes the popular Madden series game, wanted Tomlinson on the cover. An EA Sports spokesman had said Tuesday that Vince Young was the company's choice all along. The Madden cover athlete is generally paid $100,000 to $200,000 and is required to make numerous promotional appearances. Tomlinson's status (and compensation) as an endorser continues to rise. He was the NFL MVP and set the league scoring record in 2006, and he is to be featured in numerous national ad campaigns this year.
