  1. No worries Kilo:lol: :lol:I wasn't trying to make you out to be the villian either, more of the stern voice of reasoning keeping my wild imagination in check:thumbsup:
  2. I like the idea of Martinez, he would probably cost less in prospect then some of the names we have been kicking around.
  3. Hehehe I thought you where mocking me, I've been getting it alot lately for my "out of the Box" ideas. Now that I know your not, I do find the humor in your post. I apologize for assuming you where being a dick:D
  4. Like I said this is for fun, if you, like Kilo, feel this is beneath your standards, feel free to ignore the thread and move on.
  5. :dunno: Well obviously it would hinder my other deals. But it would depend on St. Louis's interest in bringing in 2 1B. Who would the pitcher be?
  6. Damn, I forgot about how hard it is to find a league average #5 pitcher is....
  7. Here's a dousy LOL Dice-K, Lowell, Reddick for Wright Buchholz, Anderson(Youk), Hadagone,+1 for Pujols Youk(Anderson), Bowden, Almanzar+2 to Seattle for Felix and Clement. Bay could be used to bring in more prospects for the other deals and Sign Dunn, or just keep Bay 2009 Lineup CF Ellsbury 2B Pedroia DH Ortiz 1B Pujols 3B Wright RF Drew LF Dunn/Bay C Clement SS Lowrie Beckett Lester Felix Wake Penny Muuuuahhhh I have done it, the ultimate pipedream!
  8. Yes for entertainment sake, this is what this thread is at the moment:D Buchholz/Anderson(he will be an absolute in a trade)/OF prospect/+2 other upper prospects.
  9. This one is for you Kilo, Buchholz/Hadagone/Bay/Bard/Almanzar For Hamilton and Salty/Teagarden
  10. I don't think they will either, but it was a different angle then anything mentioned. Something that was out of the box thinking.
  11. http://blogs.nypost.com/sports/st/archives/2009/01/3_up_bosox_hitt.html It's being discussed in about 3 different threads at this moment, so let's bring it all together. Take the article for what you will, but assuming it's reasonable, the Sox are looking for a bat to sure up the lineup. And that there looking for a young star player. One of: For Matsuzaka+ hmmmm:dunno: Sign Lowe to replace Dice-K in the rotation? I see where he's coming from. And if Matsuzaka could bring in someone like Wright, you have to consider it. I like the thought of Hamilton, but can he handle Boston:dunno: Who does everyone on here see the Sox targeting? What do you think of the suggestions Sherman makes?
  12. I never said I take my ideas for trade literally. There for more conversation sake. You may live and die by everything you choose to post, but that doesn't mean I have to do the same. But, if you feel that these suggestions are not up to or beneath your standards, by all means feel free to ignore and not respond to them.
  13. Well maybe not Bay to the Twins directly, but he could be used to send to another team to pick up someone whi the Twins would want. I was just trying to show using Bay for a Catcher.
  14. I could see Bay getting moved if he won't sign long term for what the Sox want him at. Sign Dunn, trade Bay for a Catcher? Bay+Bowden+Esposito for Mauer? CF Ellsbury 2B Pedroia C Mauer DH Papi 1B Youk LF Dunn 3B Lowell RF Drew SS Lowrie :dunno:
  15. Help help I can't breathe, get off me!!!!!!!!!! LOL Sorry bought that guys, I was reading threw everything at warp speed to catch up on everything from last night. And obviously I have failed at reading and comprehending the complete post.
  16. BAA is about the worst stat to use for any argument. And with some work he can be passable at 1B.
  17. Why because his Batting Average isn't good? He plays 150+ games a year. Hits 40 HR on a consistant basis. He's a career .381 OBP, .899 OPS. Yes he strikes out alot, and his Glove isn't superb, but he's no push over either. He's just a suggestion anyways. He's 29 and might be able to had on a short term deal. 2/24?
  18. LOL @ Grienke being higher the Cole Hamels, who might have the best change up in baseball. Carpenter was good, but we haven't seen what he can do in awhile.
  19. I'll admit, I read the post very quickly, and didn't see the names of Buchholz, Bowden, Ellsbury or Anderson, so I thought of it as a good thought. Now that I look at it closer, it's completely unreasonable. Houston would need atleast 1 top prospect coming from somewhere. I still wouldn't rule out the Sox moving Lowell and signing Dunn to a 2 or 3 year deal and put him at 1B. I know this lowers the Defensive side of things, but I think we are all looking for ideas to beef the Offensive side.
  20. I like your idea. If the Sox could get Berkman without giving up any top prospects, you atleast have to consider it. But he is 32, I know that's not old, but I'm not sure what he has left on his current contract either. But like in any deal, it all comes down to who the Sox have to give up IMO.
  21. I'm trying to find the article, but am having trouble. If I come across it again i'll post the link. It was a side note to the Sox going after Hanley. It said that since Hanley wasn't available for what they want to trade, that they could shift there forcus to mauer of Peavy. Assuming they really want to make a splash on the trade market. Buchholz/Kottraras/OF prospect/ Low level prospect for Mauer? This is assuming there will be an extension for Mauer too.
  22. When Burnett is on, he does have some of the best stuff in baseball. The ? that come with him is not about his stuff, more his durability, competitve drive.
