  1. At the earliest 2010. Maybe a September call up or something. But by 2011 we should see him at least get a shot. Granted he keeps up/improves upon his current level of play. Who knows really? This guy could explode and force his way onto the team. Or he could become a K machine and not even get a shot with the Red Sox.
  2. I know some about the kid but not much. Has he been DHing all season? What kind of shoulder injury did he have? Looks like a very solid line. And a great start to his pro career. Hope he keeps it up.
  3. If he ends up being any good he'll be traded to the Red Sox for for Aaron Bates and Bryce Cox:rolleyes:
  4. Not a surprising move here. Someone had to go. Thanks for your hard effort and all around team mentality Mark. I hope you catch on somewhere. And as the Mets are one of the safe havens for former Red Sox players, you might get a chance there;)
  5. I think he is going to Philly.
  6. Could be worse. We could have AJ Pierzynski behind the dish:lol: 9% runner thrown out...... Besides it wasn't like we all were expecting Tek to be rifling runners out anyway. Another topic that gets overblown when the team is struggling.
  7. I've advocated trading him now. Although now that Holliday has already been traded(going 4-5 in his debut:rolleyes:) I don't see much of an upgrade right now. As far as after the season goes, if he won't take what the Sox offer him, let him go. He's not someone I would hope they overpay for.
  8. I believe it's two. But I'm not spelling champ either. The fact you call the prospects "average" shows you know nothing about them. There two full time minor leaguers that would have trouble breaking into the big leagues for the Nationals. but go ahead and celebrate. You won't be laughing when the Bucs sell of Wilson and Sanchez for the 7 rings of suck you are sure to get back.
  9. LOL @ RSR:lol: Sox definitely got the better end of the deal. A slick field ing noodle bat SS's are a dime a dozen. And the pitcher sits around 90MPH with very very average secondary pitches. You may bot like Laroche. Bet he fits well here. Nice back up. Can step in if Lowell goes down for any extended period of time.
  10. LOL Not too many beer bellies in our league. Couple leagues down it becomes beer league softball. I don't think there are any Barroid guys around though. I'm sure there is some. But no obvious abusers.
  11. Actually it was the Matt Holliday bandwagon topic that started this whole thread.
  12. Must be something in the water down there LOL I've never heard of anyone throwing that hard. The two guys who I mentioned earlier are the hardest throwers on the Dutch national team. And they are usually the hardest or close to the hardest throwing in any European tournament that I have witnessed. Not to say your claim isn't true. I would honestly really like too see that. That hard from that distance would be disgusting:D
  13. I wasn't using my coaching background as a dick measuring contests. I was just trying to show that there is another side to BSN07 that you may not be aware. More to the madness, as it were.
  14. Now I haven't been able to swing any big deals like that:lol: I coach in the top class here in Holland. A couple of our guys currently play for the Dutch National team that played in the WBC(albeit one is injured at the moment). I'm not the manager, but I'm an assistant coach. I work with the younger pitchers we having coming up, and the OF of the current squad. I also play for the top division mens fast pitch softball. Which if you haven't played before is really good. We have guys pitching mid to high 70's(under hand obviously), with 2 guys in the league that reach low 80-85MPH. And from that distance it's a total frickin blurr LOL It's actually really good play and competition. I also play in the 3rd class for our local Baseball club for fun. I'm a better coach, but still love to get out there and play.
  15. weak I can name a dozen guys that are around 40 that were better the Drew in their prime. We are talking today, in the now!
  16. We always think it will cost 3 or 4 top guys. But when deals actually go through, they seem to always be less then what everyone discussed here. Leaving some of us scratching our heads at how the deal got done. But that's why we post on a message board and don't actually run a franchise. If SD asks for Buchholz it won't happen. But there is enough talent in the system to where it might not need too. I see 2 scenarios playing out. Either 1. The Sox don't get AG. 2. The Sox get AG for a package of prospects not including Buchholz, but a combo of position players, and maybe Bowden.
  17. Easy Tan toe. I know my fantasy trades get a little out there. I fully admit to thinking way our of the box. And not using the common sense with a lot of them. But there more for entertainment purposes then anything else. When you get right down to the nuts and bolts of the game I consider myself as having a "clue". The team that I coach also seems to think I have a clue as well;)
  18. Anderson/Reddick/Kalish is a nice start at rebuilding the core of their franchise. If the manage to get Bowden as well even better for them. They may not require Buchholz to be part of an AG deal. I would assume they expect to get 1 or 2 top pitching prospects whenever they get around to trading Peavy.
  19. I'd say that's a likely scenario. I could see the Yanks getting in on Harang or Garland. I think Harang will garner some decent prospects. While Garland is closer to a salary dump then a "rebuilding chip" IMO. But neither should cost anyone of significant importance. A La Montero, Joba, Hughes to name a couple. Jackson could be part of some deal. But I would think the Yanks would want to hold onto him.
  20. And what's Magglio make?
  21. I don't see Buchholz as part of the deal. The Sox FO knows they have a spot opening up in the rotation after this season. I'm sure the plan is to have him fill one. The fact the Sox won't include Buchholz is probably why they are being "rebuffed". They could offer something along the lines of, Bowden/Reddick/Anderson/Navarro(Tejada)/Bryan Price,( Kyle Weiland, Stolmy Pimentel, Stephen Fife) Which is a solid package. Bowden probably would rank as the top pitching prospect on a lot of other teams systems. The Sox just happen to have Buchholz as well. So it's not not crazy to think a deal can be structured around Bowden. The could always sub Hadagone for someone to sweeten the deal. SD would have to consider it at that point. Even with him coming off of TJ.
