I'm a little weary of Lee. He has come back down to Earth this year. Not sure Lee is the right kind of pitcher for Fenway. But out of what's available he's near the top. He should cost lest the Halladay. Buchholz should not even be mentioned though.

I'd be more convinced if he was maybe "Rollercoasting" instead if a steady downfall in production. His career numbers obviously show that he should hit better eventually. But maybe he's just having an off year, who knows? I'm not saying it will be impossible for him to bounce back. But how long should they wait? And how much will it cost the team? C is what it is for the season. I don't see the Sox getting V-Mart, not with them just getting Laroche. I don't believe any other Catcher of consequence is available. unless The Twins want Buchholz really badly. RF? C'mon. Drew is here for at least the season. And probably the better part if not all of his contract. They may get a RF, but Drew will be going to LF. The Sox would have to take on some money or send money with Drew to trade him. ATL and maybe SF could be desperate enough for a Bat. But that's a long shot. 3B has been taken care of it would seem. The acquisition of Laroche takes care of it. With Laroche playing 1B and Youk playing 3B. A dominant pitcher is always a possibility. I will give you that. Outside of that your looking at SS and LF as the only viable spots to improve the offense with an everyday player.

Bay has been a hole since May. Look st the stats. He's fallen off in every major category since the start of the season. They could be. But someone in the OF will be heading out of town if they do. Dye isn't going to be a bench player. Some called me crazy for it, but I think Bay could really be heading out soon. Don't get me wrong if he stays, ok. He just better start hitting. But we will call it a " hunch" for now:D

Not sure what else there gonna do. Laroche keeps them from getting V-Mart IMO. But maybe they trade Bay like I suggested earlier. I don't see them giving up on Lowrie too quick. And Tek is the Catcher for at least the rest of this year. So Bay seems to be the only one left on the offensive side that could feasibly be traded. I guess they could be going after a Pitcher. They could move Saito or Penny too.

Me neither. The fact they got back a player with any kind of MLB service time is an accomplishment in itself. They were going to have to pick up all his contract anyways.

Great great move the Sox. Who knew when I went to practice I'd come back to 13 pages of Laroche? Add in trading Lugo and getting a competent player in return, and it's not a bad day for the Sox.

This I believe the above statement would be the main cause of all your previous grievances in the post. That simple fact alone has cause you to over react. Bay is a better fielder then Manny, in almost every way(Manny did play the Monster well though). How do you hate him for no "guts or passion" in the same post you praise your love for Manny? "Refusing to attack flyballs? How about "refusing to play the game"? And this is coming from me, a guy advocating a trade of Bay.
