  1. I see where you coming from. But they did just trade Manny Ramirez at the TDL last season. Traded Nomah during the TDL when he had refused an extension. It's not unheard of.
  2. From what I read he has an absolute cannon for an arm behind the plate. I mean he is 16. I'm sure he has time to develop into a good receiver. In fact I haven't read anything that would suggest teams wouldn't want him as a Catcher. I'm no expert on him though:dunno:. There may be a lot of stuff on him I haven't read yet.
  3. Sweet Christ I'm not even sure how to respond to this. You were the one that suggested going for the worst record so that you could draft Harper.... But I'll try, 2009 Tony Sanchez 2010 Bryce Harper
  4. NY doesn't want to see the Sox heat up!
  5. Game. Don't think they will be showing the HOF inductions here... Means no Eck.... more Gordan Edes:rolleyes: Edes is ok, but I have become an Eck fan:lol:
  6. I say we have a lotto for his players:D Dibs on 1st pick:lol:
  7. I took Jonathan Sanchez. Figured he has potential as a SP. Or he could pitch out of my pen.
  8. Jonathan Sanchez, SP
  9. Why do you want Harper? I mean obviously he's a great talent. But the Pirates using their 1st rounders on Catchers 2 consecutive years? I mean it's not unheard of but you would think they would want to try at other positions first. Anyways, the Nationals aren't going on any winning streaks any time soon. So they will be building their franchise around Strasburg and Harper. And when they eventually trade Zimmerman, they should be able to pull in a decent haul. Of course this is the Nationals. So they might fall into the delusions of competing and sign veterans instead of building the farm system. On that note, if the Nationals were smart() they would sell off Dunn, Johnson and anyone else of note at this hitter light TDL. They could really set the franchise up well for the future.
  10. Teams being smart and keeping young cost controlled high potential players. I'm glad Theo passed. Don't care to se Buchholz pitching in Toronto after Roy leaves town after 1.5 years. Too early to tell with Kelly. But he has shown a lot to be excited about.
  11. Would have worked out better the what the Sox gave them. But at the time that deal probably didn't look so good.
  12. Brewers are at 80M this season. The Pirates a shade below 50M. So they will have 30M extra over the next three years to spend. Your advocate 1/2 of that new payroll be tied up in Bay? Time to turn off the snooze and head back to reality.
  13. Toronto is trying to dump salary. He has a better chance at getting an offer from the Maple Leafs.
  14. http://www.listal.com/image/products/220/0060521228/books/the-whipping-boy-478.jpg Continuing with Lester's "Whipping boy" theme:D
  15. Thank you Captain Obvious... I guess I could have said "the Pirates have 0% chance to sign Bay"...
  16. Not huge news. But a year or two ago this kid was a big time prospect. With a big bat and power potential. He has since fizzled and the Mariners don't have room for him. I know he's going to catch on somewhere. He has the upside. Think the Sox should get him and stick him in AAA and see if they can rejuvenate his bat?
  17. And by the time they all have ML time under their belts, get the team competitive and start to cost money, it will be rebuilding time again.
  18. The Expos have a better chance at signing him then the Pirates do.
  19. Everything that I read on him says he sits around 90MPH.
  20. Look at it like this. The Pirates seem to follow your views of MiLB players the same. Thats why they fight for the bottom of the NL Central every season;)
  21. Just in case anyone was wondering. Laroche is about 5 points behind the last spot for a "B" type status FA. Not that I would expect them to offer arb anyways. http://www.scribd.com/doc/17675287/Rankings-072509
