  1. This is what I was thinking. Maybe the Sox are helping get Halladay out of the AL east. They probably figure if he's not gonna come to Boston, might as well help get him out of the the AL.
  2. If that's not enough for Halladay then move on.
  3. Kurt Suzuki,C
  4. If Frodo thinks it will happen, then no need to worry about it anymore. It's not.
  5. That's a fair argument. His ego is probably bruised right now. He has the "stuff" to be a quality pitcher. It's his head that gets in the way. His way of pitching doesn't work well for the long run. I don't see why he couldn't come back to form if he gets passed the shoulder issue and himself. I was suggesting a trade in case he isn't able to get past the mental hurdles, thus killing his value anymore. But it's not like I would stop watching if they don't trade him. It's only a suggestion. When he's on the mound I will root for him. If he does well I'll praise him for the effort. But when he's stinking the joint up and not following the teams guidelines, I won't feel bad about calling him out.
  6. Agree. There is no point in switching anything until they know who they have for the rest of the season and/or someone heats up enough to warrant the lineup needing to be altered.
  7. Yes I have. I think he was very good for his first 2 years. It's what he has become I don't really care for. Thus making my opinion about wanting to trade him.
  8. He really needs to be reinstated. This is becoming a joke. I understand what he did was wrong. but I think he's paid enough. Maybe Selig doesn't give in. But the next commish has to really consider it.
  9. LOL Oki- Good-Great Dice-K- Ok-Good Drew- Good Lugo- Horrible Of course a700 probably expected these guys to be perennial AS;) lol
  10.:lol: Of course man you know it. Switched to hash recently though;) Can't beat the quality!
  11. If anyone other then Jacko made this thread, Jacko would be in here killing Strickland. Stating how it's only A ball and you can't really judge anyone at that level. And that it was a combined effort. Jacko laid out the perfect bait for Jacko. Like throwing a twinkie in front of a fat kid...
  12. Yes I addressed it saying it wouldn't be a failure if they brought in someone of consequence. 2 good season from Dice-K+(player(s) you would get back for him)+WS+ Oki and Tazawa doesn't equal failure in my book. Dice-K might not be the main reason the Sox got Oki and Tazawa. But I'm sure he helped. Tazawa did take less money to play for the Sox. He might be ready to come up next season. Thus giving the Sox another player to promote in the Asian market. Yes if you looked at just his 6 year deal and not the other intangibles it would be a failure. But added all the other stuff in and it's not.
  13. You might be right about getting a pitcher/hitter. But Buchholz is only leaving if Lee and Martinez are coming back. He won't be going to Toronto because they want too much besides him. I would bet Buchholz is staying unless it's a big deal that's not being reported.
  14. Yes his value might be down. But I would bet other pitching short teams would value him(NYM comes to mind). If the return for him was of value then I don't think the overall move of paying 104M for Dice-K is all that bad. They got a WS and 2 very good seasons out of him. Plus add in the fact that they were able to get Tazawa because of there popularity in Japan. Overall it would seem to be a good not great transaction. Which is fine. If they keep him and he continues to fight them and stink up the place they risk getting nothing back for him. Some team out there will take a chance on him. I think he could go to the NL and be very good. The NL is set up so much better for his style IMO.
  15. Nice move by Giants. May not be enough. But it is a solid pickup they didn't have to sell the farm for. Sends a nice message to the players in the clubhouse if anything.
  16. After a couple seasons of Dice-K, he comes off as being kind of a diva.
  17. It's funny how he blames the FO. And not that the quality of hitters is better in the States. It has nothing to do with him, just the FO throwing program:rolleyes: Bye Dice-K, thanks for 07 & 08. Hope you bring back someone useful.
  18. Classic Crunchy:lol:
  19. I see Dice-K being dealt this off season.
  20. The fact that Jacko is pushing this so hard should raise red flags:D JE you raise some valid points. Of course the main stream media is usually way off on these things anyways. Who knows, the Red Sox could be talking a big trade with someone else. And the Cleveland talks are just a distraction:dunno:
  21. I don't see Bard going anywhere. He looks to be the possible Closer of the future IMO. Not saying he is absolutely "untouchable". Just less likely.
  22. At least until November;)
