  1. How it all ended, AL East NYY BOS TB TOR BAL AL Cental MIN DET CWS CLD KC AL West LAA TEX SEA OAK NL East PHI FLO ATL NY WAS NL Central St. Louis CHC MIL CIN HOU PIT NL West LAD COL SF SD AZ
  2. Isn't there a waiting list like a mile long?
  3. Harden/Bedard > Penny/Smoltz Just because Penny and Smoltz didn't work out, it shouldn't discourage them from trying similar moves.
  4. Which is a fair gripe. I'm saying you sign Bedard for the 2nd half. Just like if you traded for a SP(which in most seasons you look to do) for the stretch run. You obviously sign someone that helps the team at the beginning of the season as well. I'm not proposing they get Bedard and no one else.
  5. Obviously being a Sox fan my picks may seem biased, but I will try and give a little background as to why I chose them. Red Sox vs LAA- Red Sox win in 4 games. History says the Sox. The only SP LA has that I don't like is Kazmir. He seems to pitch good against the Sox. Beckett/Lester> Lackey/Weaver NY Yankees vs Twins- Arod, CC both have playoff issues. Joba has fallen off. This isn't as cut and dry as it was say a couple months ago when the Yanks were steam rolling. The Twins are coming off a huge win and have great momentum, and we have all seen what that can do. So with the Yankees struggles in 5 game series, and the Twin momentum I'm going with the Twins in 5 games. Phillies vs Rockies- I was going to go Rockies, but with De La Rosa being out I think the Phillies have too much pitching. Phillies in 5 St. Louis vs LAD- St. Louis has the pitching and the lineup. St. Louis in 3. Boston vs Twins- Sox have more pitching. I expect the Twins to be some what tired from the Yankees series, but still riding the momentum bus. Red Sox in 6 games. St. Louis vs Phillies- This could be a really good series. Good pitching match ups, deep lineups. Phillies make a run, but in the end Carpenter and Wainwright are too much. St. Louis in 6 games Red Sox vs St. Louis- Beckett/Lester= Carpenter/Wainwright. Buchholz/Dice-K > Pinerio/Lohse/Smoltz. Sox BP > St. Louis. Red Sox in 7 games. I will add if that I believe the Champion will be one of St. Louis, LAA, NYY, BOS. Obviously I chose the path that leads to a Red Sox WS championship. But I fully expect the Champions to be one of the four.
  6. I'm with you mate
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4538482 Adding Crabtree can only be a good thing. Hope he takes it slow so he doesn't injure himself like a lot of hold outs do.
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4538498 Wow nice move by the Jets. He could be a huge target for Sanchez if he can hold on to the ball.
  9. There's no reason they can't work on them at the same time. Just because you work on one, doesn't mean your not working on the others.
  10. http://www.boston.com/
  11. The bigger game is when the Vikes go to GB. That game is going to be insane. That is the one Favre wants IMO.
  12. Tigers, if only they have an actual shutdown ace in Verlander.
  13. lolwut? Thank you, like I said earlier, it amounts to about 1 day a week.
  14. Thanks, your right. I's rank him last out of the 4 in likely hood of being traded. If they got Wright, I might be able to live with Lowrie being the everyday SS:D He is putting up Pedroia type numbers in that new park. Which are good, but not CIF #'s. He will never be the HR threat he once was playing at Citi field IMO. The Sox could probably make an attractive offer.
  15. Should have stuck with my initial thoughts lol
  16. Mets GM Omar Minaya and COO Jeff Wilpon spoke to reporters today. Notes from the conference, some quotes A lot of us haven been thinking they would move players because of their financial situation. This would appear not to be the case with that quote. As they intend to be major players in the FA market. Maybe it isn't for the financial aspects some of us thought, but there seemingly willing to move "core" players non the less. I find it hard to believe they would move Johan. But maybe Beltran/Reyes/Wright could be available:dunno:
  17. They both could be great, they both could stink. Just flip a coin. It will probably be Dice-k. You might not see Buchholz until the ALCS if they make it. I have to imagine Buchholz must be getting close to his innings cap.
  18. I think it's Dice-K at this point.
  19. ^ This If it's a one year stop gap/plan B, just bring Agon back IMO.
  20. I thought Theo graduated from Yale?:dunno:
  21. Aww come on, I have so been better about it. All my wish list stuff I have really kept in the off season thread. I only commented on certain available players after they were already mentioned here. I'll be really surprised if they bring in Lowrie as the starting SS next season. ^ This
  22. Drew had what seemed to be his best season in a Red Sox uniform this year. Also played in 137 GP. Which doesn't sound great, but he only missed 25 games. Which spread over the season(6 months), is like a game a week. Which doesn't seem like much. Especially knowing Drew is going to need days off.
  23. Ok I wasn't sure if he was a switchie or not. ^ This. I didn't need to look at any stat to tell me that RF at Fenway is where HR go to die. But I'm glad you found one to prove me right
  24. I like the idea of Reyes. But with his recent leg injuries, he may not be the stealing threat he once was. Even if he is 100%, he may choose to steal less often just to save his legs. At which stadium? YS? Coors? Philly? At Fenway and his current home park I would bet he's more of a 10-50-15. Just my initial thought on the matter I don't see Pedroia hitting # 7 to be honest. I think the best thing would be running 9-1-2. Whether it be Ellsbury or Reyes leading off.
