  1. 2+ pages of "I know what you are, but what am I?" Then Exp1 brings us back with a great post. I totally agree with you here.
  2. Lidge has been lights out through the playoffs so far.
  3. I think Pedro is a one half year option at this point. Which is fine. He could provide some valuable inngings in the later parts of the season. I do admit pitching in the NL is much dofferent. So it is something to consider.
  4. Pedro is going to go all out. If he pitches well he might receive offers from both NL and AL teams for next season. That and it's the Yankees. He's going to be pumped. Anyone else think a Phillies vs Yankees series is going to be more HR Derby then Pitching duels?
  5. I see Sizemore being even less available then Hanley/Felix/AG. Unless the Sox went in and said here's John Farrell, Ellsbury, and about 10 prospects of your choice bostonule25, If Sizemore is in LF and Ellsbury is in Cleveland, who plays CF for the Sox? Listen I know I am the pot calling the kettle black, but lately I'm trying to make an effort to put a little more thought and a lot less pipe into my trade proposals. And Sizemore doesn't make a lot of sense. CF isn't a position of need IMO, and the amount of prospects that it would take to get him just doesn't seem worth it. Besides it's not like he makes a ton of $. 8.5 million is the highest AAV? Ha that's nothing for a player of Sizemores ability. Atleast Hanley and Felix are going to be expensive soon. Unless the Guardians owner invests money like Frank Reynolds, he probably will be an Indian for the length of the contract.
  6. OMG Gom really?
  7. the secret to the cutter comes out
  8. I would be ok with Coco being the 4th OF. But will he be ok with it?
  9. You never know though. If Pujols isn't available, I could see them going after Halladay and Mauer. Honestly outside of Bay/Holliday, there isn't any long term situation I would like to see the Sox get themselves involved in. FA wise that is. I also agree that they do have a solid core in place and could probably afford to move some of the farm to fill in spots of need.
  10. Thanks I appreciate it. Honestly I only brought him up as a guy that might provide a little pop from the RH side off the bench(17 HR in 82 games(yes I know, I didn't really make that obvious sorry)).That's all. I mean would it be any worse then having Jed Lowrie pinch hitting late in a crucial game? I hope you didn't take it as I want him to be the full time LF and replace Bay:lol:
  11. Anyone think Andruw Jones could work off then bench?
  12. I don't see a Mauer deal this off season, maybe an extension offer from the Twins, but that's all. Maybe if the Twins are out of it around the TDL and someone offers them a high quality package they might move him. Besides that they will probably try and re-sign him or collect the picks when he goes to Boston or NY.
  13. When will you learn the market has changed? The only team offering those insane type deals right now are the Yanks. It doesn't seem like there are a lot of teams out there willing to offer up that kind of dough.
  14. No to Damon. Abreu would work for a season. Crawford, Dunn, Dejesus, Hawpe and Werth are all FA possibilities the following season in FA. There's always trade possibilities as well. So I don't see it setting them back to rebuilding mode if they miss out on Bay/Holliday this off season.
  15. Damon was signed to be the CF. Posada had one good year, and one full of injury. And let's not forget, all of these players have failed to bring back the one thing they were all signed to those big $ deals to achieve, a Championship(although I will admit, I don't see anyone beating them this season).
  16. I'm not saying they should do it, just that they could.
  17. The Sox could probably afford to trade a good portion of their upper tier prospects and still be ok IMO. Martinez has the Catchers spot for a couple years at least if he re-ups. Youk has 1B or 3B locked down, 2B is set, SS needs to be dealt with, LF is open, CF is set for 3+ years, RF is set for another 2. The pitching staff has multiple players that are locked in. There just isn't a need IMO currently for the farm system to replenish the ML roster. And they could fill any short term needs with FA on short term deals. I don't if they do it, but I just believe they could if they wanted.
  18. Is he becomes available is he worth trading for? Or if he's a FA, is he worth a multi year deal?
  19. Great post and I'm with you as usuaul. I had similar thoughts earlier this season(trading Dice-K), but when I brought these thoughts up, it wasn't to a great response(especially right after the deadline when we first read the above quotes from Theo and the first Dice-K package for Felix was brought up). But this could have been due to it was just me coming up with another "wish list" type thing. But now that the respected ex1 brought it up, maybe the idea will gain some momentum:D Dice-K/Kelly/+++ would be a very legit offer IMO.
  20. He rates about a 3 on the "DS".
  21. I think that could work if it was Tazawa+1 in place of Buchholz.
