  1. Like exp1, I'm willing to give him a pass, and see how he responds next season. Just like Buchholz last season. Not sure Theo trades him. His value may have taken a hit. But who knows, other GM's, especially in the NL may really value him. He's got a similar ERA to what Penny had here, now look at Penny lol Bowden maybe in contention for the NL Cy Young next year
  2.
  3. Congrats on the division. I guess the Yankees fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Would have been embarrassing if they didn't make the playoffs. Still have to win in October though. Which has been the issue.
  4. I choked on a piece of bacon while reading this This is a really good and valid point. One could argue he could be the DH post Papi. But I agree, he only has a couple years left in the OF. Although Fenway does help to mask a lot of his inabilities.
  5. Ellsbury's steal was great. His full out diving catch on the warning track was nice too. And FNG's DP was something spectacular:thumbsup:
  6. After reading this thread I understand your frustrations with me;) Tulo is going nowhere. Buchholz is going nowhere. That proverbial ship has sailed. Hanley could be dealt considering the history of his current Organization. Hardy is most likely to be available. He's down, so his price should be more palatable. Like I have said before, He's a 25+ HR threat that plays good defense. I think he would fit well in this lineup. I read recently an article saying Stephen Drew might be available. Depending on the asking price, I could get on board with him being the SS. You would get the added bonus of some sibling rivalry:D There are some more names out there like Escobar(sp) in ATL. They might make him available. FA you got, Orlando Cabrera MIN (A) Bobby Crosby OAK Adam Everett DET Khalil Greene STL John McDonald TOR Marco Scutaro TOR (A) Miguel Tejada HOU B Jack Wilson * SEA B Truly uninspiring. I'd rather have Agon back on a 1 year deal. And re evaluate at the TDL.
  7. There is a big difference between 21 and 26 years old( two ages I have read the most). If he is 21, he's worth the 40M figure I've heard out there. If he's 26, he's probably more likely to be a RP with his lack of secondary pitches IMO. Thus lowering his value. It should be interesting though. IMO he is a Red Sox or Yankee next season.
  8. Thats was right on the ball of his knee on the inside
  9. He's hurt...
  10. Thats the season if hes hurt
  11. DP be nice here
  12. Joba's pumped. Hopefully he flames out...
  13. These guys on TBS are tools of epic proportions...
  14. Am I the only one that saw a 3-2 slider coming? How does he swing at that?
  15. Nice play by Agon!
  16. Gonzo is fine for this season. But there are better options to look into this off season before bringing him back.
  17. Hardy>Lowrie Lowrie is destined to be a super sub(2B,SS,3B) IMO.
  18. Bowden is somewhere else next season IMO. If he is in Boston though, I would imagine he will start in AAA like Buchholz did this season, and be the 7th option for a SP for the Sox. And again probably would get dangled at the TDL.
  19. Ortiz would have Pena type numbers if he hadn't gone blind for 2 months. He has the most HR in the league since early June. So I don't see the Red Sox "dropping him". Maybe the Sox trade him. But I think he will be back for the last year of his contract. If he had continued to not hit, I could see the Sox releasing him. But since he turned it around and became very productive it wouldn't make sense.
  20. I'll take Casey and Ecks over any other replacement.
  21. I agree But just playing devil's advocate, What are some options if Bay and Holliday sign elsewhere? Vlad? Dye? Reddick getting the full time job? Some trade?
  22. I bring this up because Dojji mentioned trying to get Greinke. Like I said before I'm sold on his stuff, not sold on how he would handle the pressure. I find it odd he singled out NY as a place he wouldn't want to pitch. I wonder what he has against it? I know it's a big city, but would it be that much harder to pitch there then say Boston, Chicago, Philly or St. Louis(big market clubs/cities)? All that aside I guess I would be on board for a Greinke in Boston experiment. But I'm not sure the Sox have the SP it would take to get him. Also I guess it would depend on what type of package the Royals would want(assuming he is available, which has yet to be proven). Would they want close to ML ready package, or maybe a package of blue chip prospects that are a few years out. Not sure, thought it make for a good discussion with it being a bit slow around here:D And just incase anyone was curious, this is what's left on Greinke's current deal, 10:$7.25M, 11:$13.5M, 12:$13.5M
