  1. This is a solid deal for AZ IMO. Jackson has some ?, but pitching in the NL West can't be bad for him. This deal is probably best of Ian Kennedy. He desperately needed to go to the NL to have a chance at pitching full time. Detroit seems to be getting a decent package back as well. The Yanks, well it's a nice move. But this seems more like one of their "Shiny new toy" acquisitions. But Granderson is a solid replacement for Damon IMO.
  2. I would guess that's the deal. Maybe a lower level player has been substituted for one of Coke/Dunn. I'm really surprised they are trading Jackson before even seeing what he might be able to do in the Bigs.
  3. Granderson is an over rated player IMO. Although playing in Coors East will give him the oppurtunity to put up monster numbers. I also agree to an extent with Dipre. Granderson is probably better off in LF with Melky/Gardner in CF. His bat will be no worse then Damons was in LF.
  4. Would be an interesting trade. Davis is definitely the SP prospect the Jays seek in return. TB would probably have to offer up Brignac also. But that would not be a bad return, especially if Upton rebounds, or they flip him in another deal.
  5. Fernando Martinez(OF) and Jon Niese(LHP) could be players the Tigers have interest in. Ike Davis(1B ) looks to be a solid prospect but give Detroit has Miggy at 1B I don't see them having much interest in him. The Mets system might just have enough to get Granderson.
  6. This guy is a 1 out 5 on the "Dojjita" scale...
  7. Nothing more then just personal view I guess. But I haven't really claimed it to be anything else
  8. That be a big move for NY. Takes them out on just about every other trade candidate though. Could be a good think. Jackson is due a regression IMO, not sure how much though. Granderson might hit 40 HR @ Coors East lol
  9. It's already in the minor league forum
  10. Well duh, no one else can sign him. Of course they have the upper hand Again I am not saying Seattle is incapable of signing him long term. It's more of I see Felix wanting to pitch elsewhere. But who knows? It should be an interesting topic to keep an eye on.
  11. I think he would do very well there. The Mets are probably to dumb to work this out. They could go after both Granderson and Jackson. They could slide Beltran to LF, hopefully cutting the wear and tear on his body. Not sure The Mets have the prospects thought to pull it off. Their farm is crap.
  12. I thought it was Fabio Castro and Kason Gabbard?
  13. I'm not saying he won't sign long term like the players you listed. I'm just saying he might not. Just like a lot of other players have choosen not to. Obviously I think it is possible to sign him before he hits the FA market. Or I wouldn't be advocating for the Sox to trade for him. If I thought it impossible to sign him to an extension, I'd rather they keep the prospects and make their bid for him in 2 years. And if Seattle feels they can't sign him for whatever reason(s), They should capitalize on his trade value now. His trade value will never be higher then it is right now, even if he wins the Cy Young next year(then he will only be under team control for 1 season).
  14. It's the smart choice. I'm sure his lack luster hitting performance helped in making the final choice.
  15. Seriously? It's the organization that drafted him? Do you have the flu and just aren't into it today bro? Yes they have the money, and so will about 15 other teams if he decides to make himself available. They are a good organization, I personally have nothing against them. But it's not like there aren't any other teams that can't offer him the same chance to win, some probably even more. Are you just BSing with me for the sake of Bsing? I don't mind conversating or anything like that, but these seem like pretty weak attempts at refuting my opinions on Felix's availability. I'm accustomed to a stronger view from you! These seem flimzy:lol:
  16. I think they cut a deal with the Nats. The Yanks will tell them who to select and then that player will be traded to NY. So is it the first pick in the Rule 5 Draft?
  17. Like exp1 pointed out, what if he doesn't want to be in Seattle? That would be a fairly good reason for not being able to extend him. Any deal they offer he knows he can get on the open market. It comes down to where he wants to play. That's something that should be made apparent in these discussions there going to have.
  18. I'll answer with a question of my own Why would they wait any longer?
  19. Like exp1 said just because they are starting talks, doesn't mean he will sign. I'm glad talks have started, all the sooner Seattle figures out if they have a shot at signing him or not. I've maintained that Felix would only be dealt if Seattle felt they could not sign him long term. These talks are one of the things I've been waiting to happen. I don't know why you think I would be discouraged by this move?
  20. It does seem like an odd move. Especially with the rumor of Soriano thinking of excepting arbitration. Of course couldn't ATL cut Soriano even if he does except? Anyone know ?
  21. I really thought this was a very obvious fit with all things considered. I only wonder why it took so long to gather steam in the media.
