  1. I don't think he is worth it either, but if they get desperate they might offer it. They might. But I doubt it. Even if they did I think the Mets will go 5/75 to get him.
  2. I believe they go 4/70 max.
  3. When did being fiscally responsible become "crying poverty"?
  4. http://www.askmen.com/sports/business_200/225_sports_business.html I believe this was around the pinnacle of their spending. I did say with the new stadium this is likely to change. So yea...
  5. They Yankees are one of the least profitable teams(although now with the new stadium it will change obviously). The red sox are run by business men who want to make a profit. And until people stop showing up or tuning in they will continue to operate this way. So you really have 2 choices to choose from, A) Tune out and save your $ B ) Go cheer for the drunken sailors
  6. I know, God forbid the Patriots have an "off" year. Que the idiots who will say " but they didn't make the playoffs last year either".
  7. In all honesty. Isn't Max Ramirez about the most you could hope for prospect potential wise in return for 1 year of Lowell? Even if it does cost 9M?
  8. So many good choices Alan Rickman with a hint of slyness(occasionally )?
  9. Shaugnassey's an Fing tool. He's writing articles to drag in the meat-headed mouth breathers to boost his numbers @ ESPNBoston. They run rampant this time of year. Especially when the Yankees make "flashy" moves. His article probably got decent numbers. Which in the end, is his job.
  10. Maybe not the exact article, but I believe quotes from that interview have been discussed. It may be new and he is just reiterating what he said previously.
  11. Jeremy Irons, something with a touch of an accent
  12. Did I miss something? I thought the deal wasn't finalized? You never know what snags this thing might hit before the ink is dry. And Lowell could still be manning 3B come opening day. Which is fine(I never said I wanted him out anyways, just could see the reasoning and could get behind certain moves).
  13. I was thinking the same thing! LOL I don't use it, but was it being used a lot last off season? Or is this the big boom for it so far in baseball?
  14. Umm they didn't raise ticket prices last off season. This is the 1st time in 2 years. I would wager there aren't many clubs who did this. http://www.titletowntix.com/red-sox-will-not-raise-ticket-prices-in-2009 And if people want to keep Fenway around, they are going to have to pay for it. Hence not backing prices down. And in what other business would the supplier back off on his prices when he's selling out all the time? That view is just absurd and a good way to run your business in the ground. The only way the will drop prices is if no one shows up. And guess what, it's not happening.
  15. Sometimes cutting off the oxygen supply to the brain, is the only real way to make someone see the light
