  1. http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/ For all your contract and upcoming FA info. I think they have 2011's FA class projected. The site is straight cash homie
  2. 3rd What are the odd Felipe Lopez takes a super utility role?
  3. I'm not overly thrilled or upset about the deal. If Scutaro can do anything close to what he did last season, it'll be far better then what the Sox have had recently. I would have preferred 1 year with an option, but 2 isn't bad. He might stick around for the 3rd in a utility role. 5M a year is also very tolerable. If another SS becomes an option, he's not that expensive of a bench option to be honest. I also think like others think this is leading to another FA signing of player ranked higher the Scutaro. Keeping Toronto from gaining a 1st round pick for Scutaro is an advantage for the Sox or more then one level. Over all it fills the hole with what seems to be a competent player. If Theo adds Hermida, Scutatro, Holliday + it will be a good off season for the Sox IMO.
  4. All seemingly better the BA
  5. That would be a serious commitment. Harden would be an interesting option. But I think it be hard to count on him ass a #2. Which is what they need. Add in the need for a 1B and 3B and that could really add up. I know seattle has $ to spend, not sure if they have that much though.
  6. I like this move for TB BTW.
  7. Hmmm I said Seattle would be a player for Bay, and was highly ridiculed for it by some here. Bay makes a lot of sense for Seattle. Maybe they give Bay that 5th year at maybe a little less AAV and he might bite, 5/70 seems like a good offer. Seattle has a DH opening as well, so Bay could see time in LF and DH.

  9. Interesting thought. Does he have the arm? Honest question, I really haven't a clue.
  10. I feel this way also. I wonder if putting Lester #1 would light a fire under Beckett? Being a contract year and having Lester pushing him for #1 status could result in huge seasons for both.
  11. Wow that's a fairly large deal. I would have passed on the price alone. I hope this an attempt at humor.
  12. The plot thickens! A new mystery to unfold here at TalkSox!
  13. How big a deal is this?
  14. A ball and gag come to mind...
  15. The Yankees are always in "win mode now"... I can See NY throwing away the young players to get him, but I still think he ends up in the NL. I don't see the Angels forking over the prospects for one year of Halladay. I don't see them giving him in extension for more money then it probably would have cost to just bring Lackey back. Unless Lackey they believe like I do that Lackey is not the pitcher he was and is not worth the money he will likely command:dunno: If it's really just two prospects then you really have to consider it. But I wouldn't imagine the price being that low. It's more likely to be 3 of them plus a couple other lower guys. I really think some NL team is going to offer them enough of an excuse to trade him out of the division though.
  16. I think I'm more for Hudson myself as well. Can Lopez field 2B adequately? I know he can hit pretty good.
  17. Co-signed That s*** was funny
  18. They might be more inclined to trade off some young talent knowing they have a couple 1st rounders likely heading to them.
  19. Nice attempt at turning another thread into a "Gom" bashing s*** storm...
