  1. Pwndroia is a tool. :Thread Closed:
  2. Who would still want that deal? I was reading an article the other day and it mentioned Lowell having "No trade protection." I'll be honest it was the first time I could remember seeing this. Of course I admit to breezing through some threads, so I could have just missed it if someone has already brought it up.
  3. Let's play a little "Who hangs up first?" 4/80 with no clauses
  4. 4 years with 1 or 2 vesting options @ 17-20M annually would be a good offer that I bet Beckett would be tempted to take.
  5. Marlins
  6. I don't see them snubbing Beckett as the "Opening day" Starter. Especially while they are trying to extend him. I agree the title is a touch overrated.
  7. So who does everyone think is the Opening day starter? I think it will be Beckett.
  8. Let me start by saying I have no issue with Youk at all and am not advocating a trade. But I have always had a concern about how well he will age. Not a major concern, but noteworthy. I mean the man stands in the absolute limits of the batters box to give himself extra time. What happens when he looses a little reaction time? I mean he can't go any further back in the box to make up for lost bat speed. I'm not saying he will become completely inadequate at the plate. But if he regress's even some he will be an average 1B as far as offense goes. And many might feel different about trading him. I don't believe any player to be "untouchable". But with Youks current production and contract, I don't see a trade happening at the moment. As far as down the road? I could see to some scenario's leading to him being traded I suppose.
  9. I had similar feelings about the subject as well. I wouldn't have shed any tears if he was in Boston. But the best case scenario IMO was for him to remain in Minnesota.
  10. Good for Baseball. Good for the Twins. And especially good for Joe Mauer
  11. Why bother doing the leg work for him? Just point and laugh as I do.
  12. If I'm the Pats and he's there in the 2nd round I grab him. Then groom him over the next 4-5 seasons(like the Packers did with Rodgers), and when Brady retires, let him take over.
  13. I've seen much worse
  14. About .5 seconds after the ink is dry on the contract.
