  1. You dumbass. I admit readily that the Yankees have a financial advantage. Show me one time I ever said differently. What I am saying is that you benefit as well. Not as much as we do..but you benefit as well. Over the last decade, you've had the second highest payroll in baseball. Guess what? You're the second most successful team in baseball. It's not really hard to figure out. I get it...when the Yankees win, it's all about payroll. When the Red Sox win, it's smarts and guts and Theo and ********. Tell that to the other 28 teams. Idiot.
  2. Yes. My bad. Corrected.
  3. We both bought Championships. Keep in mind...we also took off a ton of payroll as well. It was simply a reallocation of funds. With the signings....our payroll actually went DOWN from the season before. The same thing will probably happen this year even if we get Holliday or Lackey....or both. We are shedding bad contracts and getting good players for the same/less money.
  4. You had the 4th highest payroll and finished 5th at best. We had the highest and finished 1st. I know which one I would choose. If you're not sure, look for me at the parade tomorrow.
  5. Of course we used our money to win a championship. I have no qualms about this. Apparently, Red Sox fans can't face the fact that they are in the same boat. The fact remains that you spent in one off-season more than the entire payroll of all but one team. As for the argument on the posting fee...that money may not count towards payroll, but it's still money. Like any other team could throw $50 million and say it doesn't count. Wake up. What you fail to see is that at the time, your off-season spending binge was the highest at the time. Our spending binge this year topped YOUR previous record. Any Yankee fan who doesn't see that money helped us win a championship is clueless. Any Red Sox fan who doesn't believe they did the same in 2007 is nearly as clueless as well being a hypocrite.
  6. Oh you didn't? As a Yankee fan, I can't complain. Just ask the OTHER 28 teams in baseball. However, that would involve you being objective...
  7. Funny...you were singing a different tune when you bought your championship in 2007 after blowing away everyone by 20 million on Dice-K's posting fee, had a side deal worked out with Drew, and tried to fix your shortstop hole with Lugo. $192 million in one shot...not counting the posting fee either [i'm not sure if I've got the math perfect, too lazy to check]. I don't remember too many people complaining here about the Sox buying their championship.
  8. A marginal player that will get eaten alive by AL East pitching. Next....
  9. I love the Yankees Banner at the bottom. Priceless.
  10. YES Network, dumbass. Just like the Red Sox have NESN. Both teams make money hand over foot. Don't kid yourself.
  11. Even though I'm a Yankee fan, this article made me laugh my ass off. Here is the direct link if you want to see the picture of the Cubs fan. Taken from Midwest Sports Fan.
  12. Are you being sarcastic or serious?
  13. This makes RSN's [and the rest of baseball combined] argument about payroll disparity less valid. The Yankees were the only team to run at a loss. If the Red Sox broke even, they could have spent an extra 20+ million this year. As always...the CHOICE is there. Not the DESIRE to WIN.
  14. To tell Jacko to enjoy this one.
  15. Can we enjoy being World Champions for a couple of days at least?
  16. I wouldn't expect a Red Sox fan to understand.
  17. Yankees team of the decade in baseball. Same amount of wins as the Red Sox, more playoff appearances. Pretty simple math, actually. Let's face it...the Yankees had the best winning percentage in baseball in the 1980's and won the most games. Team of the decade? No. Why? Zero championships. It's all about the rings, stupid.
  18. Why not, SOTK? Matsui, Damon, and Pettitte cost about 36 million this year. Personally, I like the versatility of having both Matsui and Damon. Injuries are a part of the game, and you can mix and match. Pettitte showed he is a big game pitcher again. I wouldn't mind seeing Lackey come in. Interesting off-season, that's for sure.
