I thought it was insane of them. Theo wasted his time at the trade deadline and let Lee go to the Phillies. I cannot understand how a team will take the best pitcher on the planet, without question, under 25 years old, and NOT build around him. It made no sense. You could sign Felix to a 10 year contract RIGHT NOW..and he'd be a year older than Halladay when the contract would be finished [i didn't check the ages, I'm too lazy, but I presume I can't be more than a year off]. I would rather go bankrupt as a team than trade Felix if I was the Mariners GM. f*** that. If I was the Mariners, and I absolutely had to trade him...I'd START by asking for Youkilis AND Buchholz with maybe a little Pedroia thrown in. From the Yankees, Hughes, Joba, Jackson and Montero MIGHT keep me from hanging up on you. He's that good.

I'm still pissed Egypt didn't make it. That would have been heaven for me. Egypt and USA in the same group? f***ing pandemonium [i work four blocks from the largest Egyptian community in NYC...and they all hate me because they think I'm a traitor rooting for the USA over Egypt]. You have no idea the mileage I got when the USA beat Egypt in the FIFA Champions Cup. The World Cup? Four years of telling them that they are all my bitches would have been f***ing priceless. Oh well...

I think that if Figgins signs with the Mariners, Red Sox fans can forget about trading for Felix. This is a great deal for the Mariners, IMO. With Ichiro and Figgins at the top of the lineup, this team will run all day in spacious Safeco. The Mariners finished 12 games behind the Angels. If they sign Figgins, I'd say they Mariners gained three games on them. Signing Bay or Holliday, or...just imagine if they turned around and got Lackey...the West could get very interesting.

I really don't understand why you guys are all upset about Scutaro. First of all, he came cheap. $5 million...you guys are complaining here? Second of all, he IS better than what you had at SS the last few years. Now, I don't think he'll have the year he had last year, but even if he regresses to his norm...is he really that bad?

You're really comparing Pedroia to Jeter? Really? Seriously? I know Pedroia was kidding, I read the whole quote. Pedroia is a decent player, but he's not in Jeter's class as a player. As a competitor, yes. As a player, no.

You really think Pedroia could have challenged him for SS? Gold Glove maybe, if he could reach first base from the hole. Silver Slugger? Merry Christmas. He can't out Jeter OR Cano.

Halladay will end up in New York of the NL. You'll see. The Yankees are definitely in win-now mode. With Jeter, Rivera, Posada, and Arod on the wrong side of 32, the Yankees will go into a rebuilding mode after 2012. The addition of Halladay gives the Yankees the best shot at winning it all for the next three years. After that...we shall see.

The Mets won't trade Reyes because his value is at an all-time low. You'd have to start with Buchholz and it would take more than that.

I think the Yankees will end up with Halladay. Reason being... The Yankees core has three years left. After three years, Jeter, Posada, Mo, Pettitte, and Arod will be retired or diminished, some probably severely. Win now, and start replacing the players down the road and they can stay very competitive.

Jacko, Swisher hit like an MVP on the road. This year was an aberration. He'll probably hit better at home, and worse on the road. Personally...I think his trade value is at an all-time high. I'd see what I can get for him.
