  1. It looks like Boston will be very busy at the winter meetings.
  2. Moderator on a Yankee board...born and raised in NY, but a Sox fan...hmm. Something fishy here.... I love it!
  3. No. As much as I respect him as a player, he is on the quick decline typical for catchers.
  4. Damon? That was all him. Money talks, example1. Recruiting is a part of it too, but New York kinda sells itself these days.
  5. Ok, ok, so just for fun, make a fair trade that involves Cashman and Theo. I was just trying to lighten things up a bit.
  6. Good point. So if you were the Marlins GM, would you pull the trigger on the trade rumor I heard on WFAN? Why or why not?
  7. So if you were the Marlins, you would rather take Milledge instead of the package I proposed? Don't forget, Willis will stay in your division. Interesting.
  8. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0006VTMVQ.01-A189WN3T5ROVH._AA280_SCLZZZZZZZ_V65718625_.jpg I'd never seen this. That's funny. It does show one thing...even with a World Series parade, you guys are still thinking about us. Funny pic.
  9. Comparing Papi's heart to Manny isn't fair to Manny. Papi is like Jeter. A consummate professional [with only one example of idiocy that I remember]. Papi is what I would call the lunch pail guys [after Parcells coined it with the Giants in the 80's]. That guy would play ball for free on cement just to play ball. Question for you, since the only time I ever went to Boston was to visit my girlfriend at the time, and we didn't do too much sightseeing...why do so many stars want out of Boston relative to NY? For the most part, when they come here, or come up through here, they stay here.
  10. The Yankees won't include both Sanchez and Hughes. Shillingouttheks...if you were the Marlins...would you trade Willis for Melky, Proctor, Sanchez, and Duncan? I'm biased, I would make the trade for the Yankees. I think if Sanchez and Duncan live up to the hype, this is a great deal for the Marlins. What would you do if you were the Marlins GM?
  11. Umm...none. Wow, one championship in 88 years really makes you uptight. Let me make it very clear. If you don't like my posts, go f*** yourself. Is that clear enough? I was attempting to have fun, not take things seriously. I expected Sox fans to come back and make some fun trade ideas like Cashman and Jean Alterman for Theo, etc. Just good-natured fun. If you don't like Yankee fans joining your board, then you should simply make it a private board. I come here because with the exception of you two *******s, I pretty much like everyone else on the board. Try this. Stop posting for a week or two. Watch how much better the board gets. I can't remember anyone complimenting you on your posts here. Why? Because you are both a bunch of arrogant, pompous know-it-alls who don't know a thing about what you are talking about. I started this thread in fun, after being so bored with kicking the crap out of ORS's logic about Matsuzaka and finances. Now you go and ruin what I was trying to make a fun thread. Figures. Talk about the Sox? Go ahead. I don't partake in every thread...nor do I want to. When I see something that generally affects my team and yours, I post. Trust me, I don't post to hear your opinions. Sometimes I ask people about things about their own team. [Ex. I asked for a scouting report on Pedrioia since I haven't seen him play outside of an inning or two]. Plus, to take a gentler tone, going to Yankee boards where the talk all day is about how we should give up Andy Phillips and Melky Cabrera for Roy Oswalt and how it is a good deal for the Astros bores me. If I put up something here, people will automatically try to rip it to shreds. If it stands up, then it's a good deal. We all have a bias for our teams. I come here to minimize it. You come here to increase it. To each his own. P.S. Don't let up ORS. Please don't. If you took off your Red Sox blinders, you would realize how much of an ass-kicking you've been receiving. Here's another thing for you Example1. Try not responding to my posts. Guess you guys don't like it when someone plays devils advocate. Must be awesome to talk with people who agree with you all the time. By the way...is "Elf" funny?
  12. I wonder if the Marlins would do all four. Proctor, Sanchez, Melky, and Duncan. I love the deal from the Yanks standpoint...but it was on a NY sports radio station.
  13. I realize that Manny is a pain in the ass sometimes, and he quit on the Sox last season. That was after you guys were out of it anyways. The guy came to play when you had a chance anyways. Pretty much like every other Hall of Famer you've had in the last twenty years, you will run this guy out of town as well.
  14. Taken from Foxsports: Since 1998, Manny Ramirez has averaged 40 home runs and 127 RBI and been an annual participant in the All-Star Game. His career slugging percentage of .600 exceeds those of Hank Aaron, Joe DiMaggio and Willie Mays. In the whole history of the game, only six players have driven in more runs at age 34 than Ramirez, and all of them are in the Hall of Fame: Jimmie Foxx, Lou Gehrig, Mel Ott, Aaron, Al Simmons and Babe Ruth. Why would you guys even entertain trading this guy?
  15. New rumor on the WFAN. The Yankees have offered Melky, Humberto Sanchez, and Duncan for Willis. The rumor also said that the Yankees may include Proctor instead of Sanchez or Duncan. If this is true...wow...may really twist the Marlins.
  16. Sure do. Do you remember 2003? 1986? 1978? One of the biggest perennial loser franchises in sports gets lucky once in eighty six years, and we have to hear about it, lol. As if the four championships we won in the last ten years don't mean anything. As if the Red Sox not even having won a playoff game in two years doesn't mean anything...lol.... Back to the subject...if you had to trade Cashman for Theo, how would you even out the deal. Let's have some fun with this..no players allowed, just front office personnel.
  17. I would shoot him in the back like the dog that he is. So come one...who would you trade for either. Remember, no players allowed. How about Cashman for Theo and Voros?
  18. Relatively speaking...it may be decent considering what Lilly and Meche are asking for. Do I like it? No. It could turn out ok, though. I still think it is a bad move, though.
  19. Would you trade Theo for Cashman? Personally, I think Cashman is better, but if you had to trade the two GMs for each other, what would be a fair deal? To play this fun game...you can include anyone from either front office. In fact, you can trade anything but players and money. Personally....I would trade Cashman for Bill James and Theo Epstein. I would then release Theo Epstein and shoot him while he was running away [in the back, like the dog he is]. I would then elevate Gene Michael to GM with James as his caddy. What are your scenarios?
  20. Mulder is a low risk, low cost investment with a potential of a high return. I think any team in contention should go for it, including the Yankees and Sox.
  21. I can't believe that some guys are worried about a first round pick when you can get Lugo. Are you guys serious? Do you know how many picks are in a draft? Do you know how many players are drafted who actually make the big leagues? We have now left the sublime and gone to the ridiculous.
  22. As immature as that was, I laughed for two minutes. I think we can all agree that both Wang and Willis are top tier pitchers. I think we can both agree that it makes little sense to trade them for each other. That being said... Do you think the Marlins would accept the package the Yankees got for Sheffield [sanchez and the other guys, lol] and Melky for Willis? You guys probably know more about the pitchers the Yankees got in the Sheffield deal than I do. Do you think that is a fair deal?
