  1. I will try to find one of the links. One of the New York papers [i get the Daily News and NY Post delivered] said that Chamberlain has had a positive effect on Hughes by putting in extra work and coming early to the park. Infer what you want from that, but this kid reads his press clippings. I don't know if Chamberlain can read.
  2. I am not sold on this guy at all. According to what I've heard, he's got a poor work ethic, like this game owes him something. I'm excited about Kennedy though from what I've heard. It takes me a while to get on the bandwagon with young players. The Yankees, probably better than any team in baseball. overhype their prospects. If you can do it for two years, I'm sold. Until then, you're not much in my book.
  3. Thank you, but were not a lock to get in just yet. Guardians leading 3-0....we can finally catch them in the loss column today.
  4. Hughes sucks. f*** him. Another thing about Pedroia I realized....man, does that guy have a glove. Best fielding secondbaseman you have had in a long, long time. What a glove on that guy. However, what the hell was he thinking with that bunt last night?
  5. Truth be told, we did win 3 out of 4 from Detroit at home. So we split with Detroit 8 games over 2 weeks. We should have won 2 out of 3 from the Angels anyways, so I'm not concerned. Pissed, because the lead could have 2 or 3 games instead of 5, but dems da breaks....
  6. Go f*** yourself.
  7. Only until the Mariners play.... YANKEES LEAD THE WILD CARD RACE!!!!!
  8. I agree. She is a tool. Some notes on the game [God, I love seeing every game of a Red Sox sweep]. It didn't look like Youk went out of the baseline. I think the Yanks caught a break there. Jeter blew the nohitter. The next groundball that went through for a single would have been an easy out for Cano. They bunched up the infield for the double play. f*** Jeter, at least for that one play. Schilling pitched well, except to Cano. This was a close game until we blew it open late. You guys still win the division unless you melt down against the Orioles. The magic number, for lack of a term, is 2 games. If we can shave three games off of your lead, bring it to two games by the time we get to Boston, we have a chance. This Orioles series is key for you, since they play well against you and unfortunately against us as well.
  9. I LOVE IT!!! Anyways, I was at both games and going to the finale tomorrow. I definitely see the game better at the stadium than on TV. Some observations: 1) Arod's homerun was tattooed. There was no doubt about it the second he hit it. It didn't have a lot of height, but he hit it so hard, you knew it was gone. 2) The Red Sox were completely lucky to stay in game 2. Clemens made one mistake, but he definitely didn't have his good stuff. He was consistently high in the zone, but the ump definitely had a high strike zone for both sides. 3) Rivera has shifted away from the inside half of the strike zone. This is extremely impressive. For his entire career, he lived on the inside part of the plate with his cutter. Now he is backdooring his cutter, and the Sox haven't adjusted. If you have to cover both sides of the plate against Rivera, you're f***ed, plain and simple. 4) Ortiz is the Anti-Christ. Everyone was holding their breath that we could get out Pedroia, and leave Ortiz on deck to end the game. 5) Torre was right to bring in Farnsworth when he did. A three run lead is when you can trust Farnsworth. If he gets you through the inning, great. If not, you had Rivera to give you a four out+ save if needed, which it was. 6) Francona is absolutely horrible in managing the pen. He actually may be as bad as Torre. He stays with your guys WAY TOO LONG. Beckett was getting hammered in the sixth, everything was smoked, and he got lucky. Matsui crushed it right at Drew. Posada hammered him, and Giambi did too. The fact that he got out of the inning without the Yankees scoring is inconsequential. He was running on fumes, his velocity was down 3 MPH from the beginning, and Tito kept him in. The next inning, Arod destroyed his pitch. Blame this game on Tito, you almost stole it. He kept Matsuzaka in too long, and Damon killed him. You have a good pen, why the f*** isn't he using it? I, for one, am extremely glad he doesn't. 7) If we see you in the playoffs, you are done. You match up very bad against us. Beckett may look like a Cy Young candidate against the rest of baseball, but against us, he looks like s***. Matsuzaka and Wakefield are your best chances against us. 8) You will still win the division, and we will get the Angels. f***. LOL!
  10. AL WILD CARD Team GB Yankees - Mariners - Tigers 3 Blue Jays 7 Twins 7 After a horrendous road trip, the Yankees most resilient team in years, has caught the Mariners yet again. All in all, I am enjoying this season more than any since 1998. You gotta love how this team just never quits. Tomorrow, Wang faces the Red Sox, who counter with the Red Sox's Mussina, Curt Schilling.
  11. If you think they would have brought in Joba, you need to check in to a place where they don't allow zippers.
  12. It's about time. The only good thing about this is that if the Yankees make the playoffs, no way that he makes the playoff rotation.
  13. It's over. I'm a Yankee fan, and the division race is over. The Wild Card is still in play, and we are the only thing that can derail your trip to the World Series, and you know it.
  14. Well, tomorrow is the big game. If we win, then the pressure shift a bit, Boston doesn't want to get swept. If the Sox win, then it's ok no matter what happens on Wednesday. Either way, these games are a shitload more important for us then you. I'm at every game this series, so I'll try to pipe in when I get home.
  15. Hughes f***ing sucks. I hate that guy. He hasn't done s*** for the Yankees. Great prospect. Emphasis on prospect.
  16. What an defensive inning for Guillen. f*** Hughes. Now we can't get anything worthwhile for this piece of s***.
  17. This kid is going to be an average pitcher, at best a number three. We should have traded him when he had some value. I'm watching him, he's just not good.
  18. Hey Jacko....still thinks this Hughes idiot is a good pitcher? He's not even the best rookie on the staff. That goes to Chamberlain. This guy is pathetic. s***** location, slightly above average fastball, nearly zero control on his breaking pitches. I have not seen anything about this kid that impresses me so far.
  19. If they get swept, see ya next season!
  20. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2983121 Enjoy prison, *******. Put those words in order you want.
  21. Yes, it was a nice shot. But I think the one he hit off of Proctor is still in orbit.
  22. Look, I just like the game played without hotdogging, or showboating. I didn't like Henderson's snatch catch. I didn't buy Arod watching his homerun and thinking it was a pop up. I didn't like players watching their homers, or pitchers with the fist pump after a strikeout. I'm old school in the way I like the game. Nothing wrong with celebrating at the plate like the Sox do when they get a game winner. Nothing wrong with a curtain call at home [even though the Yankees over do it BIG TIME]. For the unofficial record, I never condone injuring a player at all. It's one thing to go in hard, another to try to injure the player. These people have careers and families, and that wasn't what I was implying. However, Manny should have been brushed back, that's my opinion. When Krod or Chamberlain fist pump, I would bunt down to first and spike him. That's the way the game, or at least used to, should be played. This is just the way I was taught to play, and how I teach my little league team to play. Act like you've been there before. What do you expect someone to say when they got caught admiring? Arod called it a pop up, Ortiz said he hit it hard, etc. I've seen him hit the ball a lot harder, unfortunately, off of my team's pitchers.
  23. It hurts to say this, but I think ORS's last post is a very good one.
  24. This is the Mariners wet dream. The Yankees at the Angels. If they win, they gain ground no matter what.
