  1. Try him out as a starter. If he is successful, keep him there. If he isn't, move him back to the pen.
  2. I disagree with that statement. First of all, his body would have broken down. His homerun totals would more than likely have declined with time. We will never know, but the dropoff would have started a while ago.
  3. Steroids help in every aspect. They keep the players on the field. They allow players to regenerate their strength faster. They are less worn down. They also increase strength, allowing for those warning track shots to be homeruns. ORS, steroids doesn't decrease the other skills needed to hit a homerun, so that stuff is irrelevant. If he could get around on it, great, if he couldn't, he couldn't. If anything, the increase in strength may help him get around better since he may be able to hold back that 1/10th of a second more before ripping through the zone. Just an observation.

  5. Both. You collapsed, and we played lights out. Really depends on my mood and the audience. Around Yankee fans, we played outstanding ball. Around Red Sox fans, it's because you choked. I love having my cake and eating it too. Go Marie Antoinette!
  6. Two more years, and I would have hit on her. Ok, maybe one more year.
  7. You're kidding me, right? Vernon Wells' line for the three game sweep: 0-8, 4 BB Not exactly awe-inspiring. I doubt who they were playing would matter to them. They have $126 million invested in this guy, you think they care which team, the Red Sox or Yankees win the division? Come on, riverside. Chances are whoever they bring in can do better than 0-8.
  8. At this point, I'm just happy Cano actually knows where first base is. $100 million dollar talent, 10 cent brain.
  9. If that's what you are banking on, you might as well let the Tigers in the playoffs. Oki, maybe. Gagne? If he even makes the post-season roster, Tito should be fired.
  10. Last year was a total flip-flop. The five game Boston Massacre Part II rendered our series with you guys Sept 15-17 totally meaningless for BOTH teams. What I'm saying is that either series could be huge, or meaningless, or somewhere in between. MLB is not playing favorites here. Just an oversight on their part. Plus, as long as we keep Arod [big if, I admit], I think we're going back to the double digit lead over you guys next year. This year was a fluke for us, and we still might catch you.
  11. I thought it would be nice. It would be really nice if they could make it a night game, with all the festivities before. It would be a fitting send off to the most famous ballpark in baseball history.
  12. I admit, he does look like King Hippo. Now lets get back to Joba Chamberlain.
  13. Well, sorry for the bullet remark, ORS. Maybe you can just deflect it instead of stopping it. What I took offense to was being lumped in with those people. My whole life I've distanced myself from the atrocities that go on there, this just struck a nerve with me. Keep defending our country, and for that, I salute you.
  14. LOL
  15. What did I say in this thread? That I thought you were better than the comment about Chamberlain's dad, therefore telling you how I felt, but giving you the benefit of the doubt? I said it was classless, and it was, but I gave you a way out graciously, which you didn't want. Anyway you look at it, whether you like me or my opinions, it was classless, and since you didn't know he had polio, it is understandable. Saying that ORS, your high and mighty poster, if he has something to say to me, or about me, that it should be me, and not my heritage? I've dealt with that crap in my life for too long to care to anymore. I wouldn't care if he didn't know where I was from, but he does. So yeah, I could care less about someone like that. So much for being done with this thread.
  16. Did the IQ in Boston drop when I wasn't looking? Please explain to me how a series has playoff implications in September, and not in August? The series in August has every bit of a chance as being important in August, probably more important in August, than the last week. It's not a difference in home games, just timing. There is a very good chance that the series means nothing to one of the teams in September, but the series in August is more likely to be crucial to BOTH teams.
  17. You know what's hysterical to me? YOU GUYS HAVE THE LEAD. If you read this stuff, you've all but given up the division. We have 10 games left, 6 on the road. We're also down a game to you in the loss column. It's amazing to see how the majority of you have conceded the division. Amazing.
  18. Just to you and ORS. I wouldn't be so insufferable if your team could actually keep a 14.5 game lead. You still might. Who knows? You know, it's one thing to rip on a person for the team he supports, or his baseball acumen. I just think it's wrong to go after people who have disabilities or after them personally. If you go back and read the thread, I even said I thought [as misguided as it seems now] that you were better than that comment. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. That would be like me saying I'm glad Lester got cancer, or you guys were glad Lidle got killed in a plane crash. You can say what you want about my team or my love for them, but to make a statement about someone's background is just not right. So is wishing harm on a player because your team would benefit. That's just sick, IMHO. There have been people here who have PM'd me and said that something I said was a bit of a sore spot and I hit a nerve, and would I not mention this or that since it was painful. I've abided by everyone's request because I am here to have fun, and not to maliciously hurt someone. I will taunt the Red Sox and their fan base for as long as I live. However, outside of the game, I'll help any of you guys out I can in any way I can. Which team we support does not define as as people, just as fans. Some people here can't make that distinction. P.S. Hippo was a bad ass. I agree.
  19. It has no bearing. The Yankees ended 2000 with a seven or eight game losing streak, and won it all. So did the Cards last year. So far, the evidence points to nothing. Hot, cold, makes no difference.
  20. Hey Schillingouttheks.... With guys like this on your board, how can you expect us NOT to give you grief? Anyways, I won't be giving you s***. I don't really look at your team collapsing as much as I look to my team rising to the occasion. We both make the playoffs anyways, so the difference is one potential home game, that's it. In the big scheme of things, it is not too significant. We've been taking it from you guys all season long, with a few of you being gracious about it. It is out of respect for you and the others that have been decent folks, that if we do catch you, I'll keep it down. However....in the offseason, and next year, if we catch you, I'll remind you at every opportunity. By then, you should be over it. Glad to see that the rightful owners, the ones who patented "CHOKE", are once again on the verge of reclaiming their rightful trademark. 14.5 games....jeez. About the only one I knew who believed it was my father, he said he'd lived through year after year of Red Sox collapses that he knew his Yanks would pull through. The thing I don't understand is why you guys aren't giving Manny grief. His bat could have won you a few games, but he seems content to sit and watch.
  21. You know, I have to say, I like this kid. I'm secretly rooting for this kid to have a good game, but hope the Red Sox bullpen loses it. I think he's a gamer. Either way, it looks like the playoff field is set. Yanks, Sox, Guardians, and Angels. I wonder how the seeding will all turn out.
  22. Basically, one's an idiot, the other is a racist. I'm done with this thread.
  23. That is correct Kilo. Part of the reason that the Yankees are really pushing for the division is that if we win the W.C., we will only pitch Wang in game 3. Believe it or not, as a Yankee fan, I would rather face the Angels. We may not play well against them, but I think our bullpen is better than theirs, our pitching matches up well with them, and we blow them away at the plate. Sabathia and Carmona scare me. I'd rather you guys take care of them.
