  1. Hello BOY. 25 posts and you already know who I am? DOUCHE BAG! DOUCHE BAG! DOUCHE BAG! DOUCHE BAG! DOUCHE BAG! DOUCHE BAG! DOUCHE BAG! DOUCHE BAG! DOUCHE BAG! DOUCHE BAG! DOUCHE BAG! DOUCHE BAG! I loved it! It was funny...come on, half of you got wood when you read it, and the other half can't get wood anyways.
  2. I LOVE IT!!!! What I would do is change the title. Say Yankees, and watch everyone get a heart attack.
  3. Jacko...you're like 0-478 this off-season. I am loving it more than you know. Next time...wait until the trade is actually made before you start the thread. [i wonder if he'll call me an idiot again....considering the deal still isn't done.] Jacko and credibility don't fit in the same sentence.
  4. This is priceless. You can't make this s*** up. "Ramirez told a friend that he spends most of his time working out, watching cartoons and playing video games."
  5. Ok..I'm confused. Is this a done deal or not yet?
  6. Hey a700, ORS...remember when it was the norm for pitchers to throw 200 IP? I remember Nolan Ryan going over 300 IP a few times. I love how the guy has no history of breaking down, but everyone is talking like its a certainty. Out of Beckett, Lester, Joba, and Wang...he's the one LEAST likely to have an issue next year. Him and Dice are about a wash. Wow...look at the sour grapes here. He'll break down, he had a bad post season....wow. Right now, the Yankees have secured the best pitcher in the AL East after Halladay. The Red Sox still have a better lineup and rotation, and the pens are a wash. All the Yankees did was replace Mussina's production.
  7. Fair enough. However, the fact that Wang doesn't even have a secondary pitch, Lowe wins by default. I think the team that signs Lowe is going to be highly disappointed unless he stays in the NL West.
  8. You actually think Lowe is better than Wang? Doesn't matter. My prediction is that Burnett will be a Yankee within 72 hours. Probably a lot less. Why? Jacko is advocating Lowe. Really quite simple formula actually.
  9. I'm still not sold on Lowe. The way I see it: Burnett >>> Lowe Sheets >>> Pettitte I think, the money being close, in both cases, it's a no-brainer. What you guys are not seeing is the age difference. I think Lowe is just as likely to break down over time as Burnett. Pettite missed nearly half a season once with an elbow injury. Why are people treating Lowe as something special? He is at best the 4th starter on the Yankees, Red Sox or Rays. Burnett and Sheets have stuff as good as anyone in baseball. Lowe and Pettitte are not in their class.
  10. Doesn't make a lot of sense. If the Yankees get Burnett, I expect them to end it with Manny. Hey Jacko...that youth movement really took off didn't it? I love it!
  11. This is why I love your posts. A breath of fresh air, I swear.
  12. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20081210&content_id=3712317&vkey=news_nym&fext=.jsp&c_id=nym&partnerId=rss_nym Wow...Omar is on fire. If we only had Omar...
  13. Ok...nothing wrong with what you wrote here...but all you're saying is he's durable. Fine. It's not that he sucked in his last year. Lets take a look at Lowe in his last four years in Boston and four years in LA. Boston 2001: 3.53 ERA 1.44 WHIP 28 YO 2002: 2.58 ERA 0.97 WHIP 29 YO 2003: 4.47 ERA 1.42 WHIP 30 YO 2004: 5.42 ERA 1.62 WHIP 31 YO LA 2005: 4.10 ERA 1.25 WHIP 32 YO 2006: 3.61 ERA 1.27 WHIP 33 YO 2007: 3.63 ERA 1.27 WHIP 34 YO 2008: 3.88 ERA 1.13 WHIP 35 YO So..with this in mind...you're predicting he comes back to the AL East, which is vastly improved over when he left it with the emergence of the Rays, and do better than he's ever done, with the exception of 2002? When he's four years older? After pitching in a weaker hitting league, in the weakest hitting division in all of baseball? I'm not saying it's not possible. However..it is highly unlikely. I'd much rather take Sheets, injury risk and all for FOUR million a year less than an inferior pitcher with a better health record. Keep in mind...he's also OLDER. Older pitchers tend to break down more frequently. I think the big red flag is Lowe. You know you're risking things with Burnett and Sheets, and the value comes down a bit. Those guys can dominate any team they face. The best Lowe will give you is that he will keep you in the game.
  14. Beckett has a much worse injury track record. If I had to bet, I'd bet on Beckett breaking down before CC. I don't see where anyone is writing about Lowe going to the Yankees imminently. Any links?
  15. Please explain this one to me. Anyone...my only explanation is this is what happens when you graduate at the bottom of your class in an foreign medical school.
  16. Not long actually. I never really think about what I'm going to write when having fun. I just start typing, whatever comes out, comes out.
  17. Dude I know. Just listen to Jacko, quote the opposite, and you're a genuis. This couldn't have played out any better.
  18. Ok...I'm here for some insight on this. 1) The Yankees are still behind last year's pace. For one season only, I consider CC and Moose a wash. That still leaves us with one starting pitchers, two injured pitchers in Wang and Chamberlain, and two gaping holes in the rotation. Two more pitchers are going to be looked at, with at least one more being signed. 2) We still have a net loss offensively. Giambi and Abreu are gone, being replaced in production by Swisher. Don't be surprised to see Giambi come back if ball player salaries really come down. Giambi on a 1-2 year deal at 8 million per? Don't be too surprised if you see this, or rather, that AAV. 3) CC's post-season success means nothing. Look at Beckett this year. Post-season success or clutch, is a myth that's been exposed time and time again. Except in Arod's case. 4) The opt-out is a good thing for both sides. The Yankees are on the hook for 3 years, 69 million. I can take that a lot easier than 7 years 160 mil. If Sabathia likes NY, he stays. If not, fine. Hopefully, the Yankees will have developed a few good starters by then. Hopefully. I'm still holding out for Jessica Alba as my girlfriend. I think that's just as likely with Cashman running the team. 5. I still hate Cashman, but he did a great job in being aggressive, and pushing the issue. Three meetings in three days, flying out to meet him, etc. I tip my hat to him on this one, and the Swisher deal. I still think not offering Abreu arbitration was a mistake, but the jury is still out on that one. So relax everyone, from both sides. All this has done so far is tread water with last year's pitching staff. We replace Mussina with CC. Now we have to replace Pettitte, and fill one more hole.
  19. I actually never looked.
  20. I did not know you were in Europe.
  21. Turn on ESPN or ESPNEWS. Jeez...
  22. It's true. It's on WFAN, ESPN, CNNSI...as long as he passes the physical it's done.
  23. I'm not saying they would. The coaches might decide to give the rookies a shot. I don't know. I'm just looking forward to Sunday.
  24. This deserves a bump.
