  1. Youk is actually the kind of 1 yr stop gap player you'd be looking for at 1b, IMO. But with his feelings hurt the way they were, I doubt he'd even consider it
  2. Owens is a big lefty with huge stuff. Even though he couldnt hit the side of a barn this yr, he had to make the list
  3. Not for a team with a protected pick and not for a team looking for one last push to go over the edge. I think the Orioles are a sleeper here and would probably think that his offense could put them over the top next yr
  4. I think Hunter is ending up in the Bronx
  5. Per rotoworld, Ortiz is expected to reach free agency
  6. Looks like the Yankees are giving strong consideration towards signing Torii Hunter. He had a good offensive season last yr, would clearly upgrade the defense in RF and would probably come on a 1-2 yr deal. He also won't cost draft pick compensation. I also think the Yankees will be looking hard at Joakim Soria. He'd likely be signing a 1 yr deal with an option and escalators, but he'd be the kind of guy who could fill Soriano's shoes while netting us another pick
  7. Johnson will get dealt this off-season. Whomever trades for him will want to secure an extension before he moves. In doing so, the sox would need to secure him for Lackey money for more yrs. If you don't sign him and he dominates, then you're gonna have to fight against 29 other teams to sign him in the off-season. If you do the deal, and sign him or no, he has an injury filled season, was the price worth it?
  8. Sanchez has consistently shown good stuff and #3 level production with the potential to eat innings. He is a real success story for guys coming back from labral tears. 195IP for 3 straight yrs should keep teams from worrying. Seeing as he starts next yr at age 29, I would say he could net the second longest deal for a pitcher this off-season, behind Greinke. I'd say a 5-7 yr deal is going to be what he would demand. And for his production, I think a 6yr $90-$100 mil deal is in his future
  9. Jung, this is just a standard ebb and flow of the game. We just aren't seeing the ridiculous offensive numbers we started seeing 15 yrs ago since these players cannot be so obviously on roids
  10. He is definitely not a product of YS. He is most definitely a guy who can easily be pitched to and struggles in the clutch or the postseason. He is the worst postseason player in Yankee history, and they've been in a lot of postseasons
  11. I think that is exactly the deal he gets, 5/75.
  12. Giants back on top! 4 innings away from the offseason. Potentially 5 more days until free agency!
  13. 2 young kids. My days are filled with Barney and Super Why.
  14. Sounds like you are enjoying watching your son play, you must be and should be proud. But goddamn man, can you please teach him better spelling, grammar and punctuation? Your post was almost unreadable, lol. Welcome to the site
  15. Swisher is going to get $15 mil a season from some sucker. He's a stat padder who sucks in the clutch.
  16. That's stupid and you know it. Achilles injuries can be career threatening, and we all know this. We also know that the guy had to get sono therapy after missing 3 months of the season, ie it wasnt healing. This is something that has the potential to become chronic or outright rupture. It is not something to blow off, it is a real concern. Then again, the guy doesnt play defense and showed he can hit, so it is a chance you take. But it isnt a given that he will be a 130 game player next yr, just like there is no guarantee Jeter is either
  17. I just want it to end tonight, so we can move into the offseason
  18. Chronic Achilles injuries in 35+ yr olds are big problems. If they don't heal, then surgery might be a necessary means to fix the ratty tendon
  19. I am okay with Soriano leaving. I think we need one more yr to be able to groom a pen strong enough to survive on their own. Mo would give us that
  20. That's a pretty cool thing for a pro ball player to do. If he blows up like you think he will, I doubt he does that again. 2,000 people would show up
  21. Rivera is currently unsure about whether he will pitch again next yr. That would throw a monkey wrench in plans
  22. They need to continue letting Farrell fill his staff
  23. Bobby V should have kept his mouth shut about his coaches, though. He just killed their careers
  24. They need to let Farrell fill out the rest of his staff. Cherington et al should have no bearing on who comes in since it is now Farrell's team and he needs guys he can trust
  25. Went over my head a bit, can you explain?
