I really dislike this Yankee offense. They are all amazing in 20% of their games and completely suck in the other 80%. It is a joke that we continue to look this bad against this team
I think they will learn from their mistakes and allow their manager to pick his own pitching coach. It will probably be someone we havent seen in that capacity before
Wait, so Ellsbury is the mystery, the guy who finished 2nd in the MVP in 2011, but Kalish is the leadoff hitter you have been waiting for? WTF? Kalish has shown a complete and total lack of being able to acclimate to big league life and he's taken serious steps backwards since his debut in 2010. He's one season away from a dump deal
The sox have to give him a chance, but when it comes to Sands, look at his MiLB numbers. They're fantastic with great power and patience. He cut his teeth in 2011 as a rookie and wasnt terrible (.727OPS, .340OBP) in nearly 200AB, but played in only 9 games in the bigs this yr.
If the sox go out and spend huge money to try to win next yr, Iglesias is not the answer. If they do the smart thing and get some stopgap options and effectively concede the yr, then you have to see what this kid can do
I still like our chances. We have a 3 game series in Ny with arguably our best pitcher going in game 3, and they'll have to beat CC in a game 5 if we take one of the next 2. The O's have been unimpressive so far, and if we could actually hit to situations, both games wouldn't have been close
ARod and Swisher coming up small in big spots again. Pettitte pitched his heart out, but it wasnt enough. We still go home with effectively a 3 game series, winner take all. I like our chances
The sox won 69 games, but with the team they have under contract, they're way worse than that. I think the sox get smart, short term deals and win about 75 games next yr while building for next yr. I think the Guardians win about the same
The Nats did their job. They split in StL and now have a 3 game series at home. They're sitting pretty. The A's need to sweep at home and will get Verlander at least once more. The home thing is nice, the Verlander thing, not so much. The Giants are f***ed needing to sweep the Reds at Cincy. And the Yankees are in a good spot knowing they have to lose at least twice at home to lose the series
He was dominant in 2010 for us, then hung em up in 2011. He returned this yr, was solid, broke an ankle, came back solid and put up a very nice 12 start run. He will be 41 prior to the yr, so they need to have a good contingency at #6
