  1. Jeez, the White Sox are on pace for 103 losses as well
  2. Do you love David Ortiz? Don't be a hypocrite
  3. This sox team came along at the right time in the landscape of the AL to challenge the Mariner's 116 win mark. The AL has 6 teams well above .500, two teams at .500 and then a bunch of s*** after that. Look at the projections for the AL The cream Sox- 114-48 Yanks- 101-61 Guardians 90-72 Astros 103-59 A's 95-67 Mariners 92-70 The meh LAA 80-82 Rays- 82-80 The bad Twins 77-85 Jays 74-88 The awful Tigers 67-95 Rangers 70-92 The abysmal KC 49-113 O's 49-113 Last year, we had no 100 game losers in the AL. There were only 2 90 loss teams in baseball but 10 teams finishing under .500. Of those 10, 7 had 75-81 wins In 2016, there was one 100 loss team and 2 90 loss teams and only 5 teams under .500 In 2015, we didn't have a 100 loss team and only had one 90 loss team. 6 teams were under .500 with 4 of them having 75-80 wins In 2014, we didn't have a single 100 loss team, but had 4 90 loss teams. You see the trend. We have 2 epically bad teams in KC and BAL. We have 2 awful teams in the Tigers and the Rangers. The Jays and Twins project to be well below .500 but around the range of mediocrity. The Rays and Angels are the definition of mediocrity. The rest are the cream. The sox loaded up at the same time as a few teams crashed, opening up the ability to sweep the bad teams almost every series. The Jays, Rays and Twins have since gutted their teams which could see them fall from grace in dramatic fashion into the 90 loss realm. That would secure a mind boggling 7 teams at the 90 loss plateau. That's crazy. This sox team is a great team in an era of as big a disparity of haves and have nots as I have ever seen. I think the sox could challenge the record for wins in this setting. The question is, should they? The Mariners went for 116 and got it, and got a swift boot out in the playoffs. I anticipate that would be quite the failure on the sox end. If the sox keep ripping the s*** out of the bad teams and hold their own down the stretch vs ATL, PHI, HOU, CLE, and NYY, then they should comfortably win the division. Rather than chase meaningless regular season titles, my expectation is you'll see the PawSox make a few starts down the stretch and see the sox fall into the 105-110 win range
  4. Closers are overvalued. Elite closers are not. The problem is there are a few elite closers yet all the guys on the second tier want to be paid like the best, and that second tier is where you see a lot of flameouts
  5. He will continue to reap the benefits in terms of muscle mass assuming he keeps working out, although the heavy roid users do start losing their ill gained muscle mass after stopping entirely. Chavis will forever have a black stain on his career, but if he starts popping bombs and lights up fenway, most people wont care
  6. This is the weak part of the schedule. We need to make our hay. With the Sox winning every game, we need to play what’s ahead of us and if the Sox fall then we’ll be there to push them. If the Sox continue their ridiculous pace then we clinch the top WC early and set our team up for the play in game
  7. He’s our hottest hitter. There’s no way he’s going down
  8. Mo pitched the reliever equivalent of two full seasons in the post season. More men have walked on the moon than have scored an earned run against Mo in the post season. The meltdowns were rare, but they’re magnified in the playoffs
  9. This is getting scary. We got off on the wrong foot, but I do agree. Andujar’s latest defensive gaffes have him spending time at DH rather than working on his craft at 3b. The frustrating thing about Andujar is the tools are there. He’s quick laterally. He’s got a cannon. His hands are smooth. He just makes stupid decisions. He backs up on a ball he should charge. He lolly gags a throw with 2 outs in the 9th from the 3b line. He just seems like a defensive moron rather than a kid who can’t cut it. Some teams can wait for his glove. We can’t. In terms of what to do with him, there’s an even more obvious spot to put him. Gardner is done with us as a starter after the season. His option will be declined and that’ll allow Stanton to move to LF. That opens DH. Machado to 3b, Andujar plays 3b when Machado rests but otherwise plays 1B vs lefties and DH’s otherwise. Or, we deal him for pitching.
  10. Sonny Gray our savior tonight. Britton gave up the ghost but we hung in and held on. Good to see us picking up the pieces after the Sox sweep
  11. They insure all their long term contracts. Is that better? I figured I didn’t need to specify that Ronny Torreyes’ contract wasn’t insured but maybe in dealing with you, I should?
  12. Depends on how long Judge and Sanchez take to come back. Our offense really missed them.
  13. Not true at all. Early detection is key with all cancer. New treatments are out there, but there’s no better treatment than catching it early and cutting it out before it can spread.
  14. That sucks. Godspeed Jerry
  15. Because he will miss the entire season, his contract will be fully reimbursed as the Yanks insure all their contracts. Ellsbury just gave the Yanks $22 mil back in their pockets
  16. Deivi Garcia, Clarke Schmidt and Roansy Contreras are jumping up prospect lists. They made Tate and the other pitchers expendable.
  17. Lance Lynn rights the ship and stops the bleeding. Big win for the good guys
  18. Glad I couldn’t stay up for this one. Here is what I can fault Boone for. Chap has been erratic of late. You let him walk the bases loaded with 2 outs and think it’s a good idea to let him face Martinez? You have Green ready fresh, you go to him at some point. You don’t go to Holder who needs to be worked up to pitching against Boston. I understand not walking Beni from the simple point that he’d have no margin for error and had just thrown a wild pitch. You don’t want to move the winning run up 90 feet then let them score on a wild pitch. We needed to get out of Fenway. This team isn’t ready for prime time as is. Once our guys get back and we get our confidence back, we’ll be ready
  19. You cannot call strike three on a ball that far off the plate. You just can’t
  20. Another garbage home plate call
  21. I was up at a wedding last night. The Sox have just been better. Our offense has caved. Our team is showing it’s youth.
  22. Our offense has sucked the moosecock of danish kings
  23. Our offense is sucking a gaggle of dicks of late
  24. It absolutely could be the preceding clubs. All have a history of shelling out big contracts. Betts is a generational talent. Anyone who wants an identity for their club will start with him. I think the Orioles would be a prime candidate. Heck, Stanton’s opt out is after Mookie’s final arb season. The Yanks could be in on Mookie too
