  1. Jones used to be such a good defender. Now he is a dog out there.
  2. I wonder if E-Rod comes back similar to Price last year. He is throwing, but he hasn't built up his innings. We are 7 weeks from the playoffs. If he is to get back to being a starter, he would need to be ready to pitch within the next 4 weeks to give him 3 weeks to build up to 100 pitches again
  3. Don't worry. Mancini has mouse balls. He's awful with the bases loaded
  4. Dalbec will be dealt this off-season, bet on it. He's a boom or bust offensive player who likely ends up being a poor man's defensive 3b or a 1b. His stock will never be higher. My bet is he ends up going somewhere for relief pitching
  5. One thing I noticed about Stanton is that he’s still closed in his stance, but not as pronounced. He’s still crushing the ball to the opposite field, but this is allowing him to turn on balls inside without getting twisted up
  6. This is my prediction. Sox stay too far ahead of Yanks for Yanks to press hard late into september. Yanks will pull away from 1st WC and be able to coast into setting up their rotation. This leaves the Sox to rest and play the Pawsox. I think this is the only reason why 106 is my prediction.
  7. A chip fracture is literally a tiny piece of bone that chips off. With the MRI, they were able to determine that there wasn’t a crack going through the rest of the bone. So no, this isn’t structural and it’s all about pain control.
  8. The young Baltimore shitbags will lose by 8 in this one.
  9. Like I said from the beginning, this isn’t structural. The hematoma has to resolve. Once it does, his pain will relent. That usually takes 3 weeks. He’ll be back soon
  10. Britton will get his s*** together. We are gonna develop a hierarchy against these s***** teams. Lynn was good today, not amazing but good. The offense came through. Surprisingly, Lynn has been nails since May 1. He and Happ may slide into the playoff rotation behind Sevy and Tanaka if CC continues to be hit or miss. I’d also consider re-signing either in the offseason
  11. Liriano has a .441 OPS against lefties this year. He’d be a clear upgrade as a pen only situational lefty
  12. Sheff goes another 5 scoreless. That brings his total up to 107IP. The kid hasn’t gone past 130 IP his MILB career. My bet is they’ll let him go 5-6IP per start for his next 3 starts then get him a start or two in the playoffs which should get him over 130IP. Then he’ll head to the AFL where he’ll get another 20-30 IP which should allow him to get up to the 150-160 mark on the year. This would put him in the 180-190 category for next season, which should squarely put him into our rotation plans. With Lynn and Happ in the rotation and the rest of the guys seeming healthy, I think they’re sticking with Sheff’s development
  13. The Yanks are something like 50-4 when they get a quality start. Crazy that we’ve only gotten QS’s in well less than half our games. Thus far, Happ and Lynn have given us QS’s in all 3 of their starts and we’ve gotten 3 in the last 4 games (CC missed by one out). This will really be an off-season priority, to sure up the rotation
  14. Chapman is in one of his funks again
  15. You’ve got an 8 game lead on Houston in the L column for home field. Barring an extraordinary collapse, you can clinch the 1 seed and then rest your guys for a whole week. I do wonder if the Sox plan to skip Sale a couple more times down the stretch or pull him after 5 a few times.
  16. Yankees are best in baseball vs LH pitchers with a .828 OPS. The Stros are 4th and CLE is 5th. Seattle and Oakland are 15th and 16th respectively. Now, vs RHers, the Guardians are 3rd in OPS, the Yanks 6th, Oakland 7th and Houston 9th. Seattle is 18th.
  17. Herrera just went down with a shoulder injury. Never a good thing to have as a season draws to a close. The highest paid closer is Davis at $17.3 mil AAV. Kimbrel has been far better than Davis over the 3 seasons he has been in Boston. Also, he will be 2 years younger than Davis was when he signed his contract. Kimbrel turns 31 in May. Chances are, he sees the first relief pitcher contract exceeding $100 mil total value. He is gonna get PAID
  18. I don't think you're reading this right. I was saying people will look past it if he is crushing bombs in Boston just like us Yankee fans did when ARod was sending them out of the Stadium. If the player is allowed to play in the league, then you root for the laundry.
  19. He has dominated the Yankees a couple times now. He is in your playoff rotation if you clinch the 1 seed and we win the play in game. I'd be willing to bet my sig on it
  20. I will tell you this right now. If ERod makes it back and is stretched out, you'll see Brian Johnson shut down and essentially used as a mop-up guy. Johnson is getting by on smoke and mirrors and you all know it. He gave up 5 runs vs us and that was with us missing 2 HR power bats and letting him off the hook too many times. He reminds me of Shawn Chacon from years past. Stuff isn't passable beyond a single good breaking ball. Far too many batters reach against him. He has the uncanny ability to wriggle out of jams (ie good luck). This is what DD needs to do. Once he has the depth, he needs to moth ball him then introduce him to the market next year as a trade chip. This is how DD will tighten the bridge to whichever closer he signs without having to shell out big bucks beyond a single closer.
  21. If the sox play the Yanks in the first round, then I think you'll see a rotation of Sale, Porcello, Eovaldi and E-Rod assuming E-Rod is healthy. If he isn't, then Price sneaks in there. Either Price or E-Rod will be the bridge reliever. The sox will need to use Eovaldi due to the Yankees RH power. Same goes if the sox face the Astros as they're mostly righty power bats as well. If the sox face the M's, it wont matter since the M's hitting isn't special so they can go hottest hand or best pitcher. If the sox face the A's, they will probably go RH heavy as most of their bashers are RH as well
  22. He has, but he is also streaky. He could hit 15 homers in a month or hit 1. When he gets hot, he carries the squad. He's not a .190 hitter, and all of you know it
  23. yoy, relax there yankee friend. These are good posters on a sox site. They got the upper hand last tilt. It wasn't the playoffs. We are righting the ship and should have our guys ready come playoffs. If we see them in the ALDS, I think we will see a 2001 repeat. Team that sets record or nearly sets record for wins in a season goes out when they face us
  24. Wishing cancer on someone. Clearly this is emotional for you, but what I said remains absolutely true. Early detection is key and you’re a moron
