  1. It was on rotoworld. I may have jumped the gun. Knowing the disease course of coxsackie, I anticipated Happ going on the DL
  2. Now we know why they got Lance Lynn. Sonny Gray will be removed from the rotation, barring a DL stint for Happ.
  3. Gray had been on a roll. Didn’t help that Gleyber took the day off defensively, but every ball hit was a missile. Gray’s ERA on the road is 3.58. His ERA at home is over 6. With Lynn in the fold, I’d seriously consider letting Lynn start, especially at home. Gray cannot be on this squad in 2019
  4. Duran was absolutely awful in June. He’s been holding his own in July. I thought he’d break out a bit, but he just turned 19, so he has time to develop.
  5. It’s not chatter, it clearly happened
  6. Cobb is pitching like he did last year
  7. The funny thing is that he’ll get dealt in the offseason and return to being an ace
  8. Lol. He’s abysmal at home. He’s such a head case. Hey, Lynn at home when Sonny’s turn comes up and Sonny on the road. Dynamite!
  9. You just don’t know. Even if they MRI him and it’s clean, you just don’t know. Shoulders are tricky. I’d take far more stock in his next start and the velocity he shows than any speculation. If he comes off the DL at 10 days and is topping out at 91, I’d say he’s got something bad in there. If he returns and is hitting 100, then I’d say it was precautionary
  10. Hey bkz, take a look at the GCL West squad and look at Cabello, Rosario, Chirinos, and Garcia. Cabello is killing it, but theyre all holding their own at 17 stateside. Maybe the best of them all, Salinas, is on the shelf with a hand injury. The INTL market will bring the position players back to prominence in this system
  11. The Yanks have to make hay this month. Aside from facing the sox, this month is a joke. Home vs Bal for 1 Away vs BOS for 4 Away vs CWS for 3 Home vs TEX for 4 Home vs NYM for 1 Home vs TB for 3 Home vs TOR for 3 Away for 2 vs MIA Away for 4 (in 3 days) vs BAL Home for 3 vs CWS Home for 4 vs DET After this run, we go on a west coast trip against the A's and Mariners which is never a sure bet and we finish the year with 4 in TB (our house of horrors) and 3 at Fenway. If we don't have a lead or are within a game or so by Labor Day, then the division is the sox to lose as the sox have the Phillies in Philly for 2 and a 4 gamer vs CLE mixed in with standard foes around it for August. The sox do have some tough opponents in Sept too with 3 at Atlanta, 3 at CLE and 3 home vs HOU.
  12. That's when they started using McCullers in the pen and he was nails. Also, their starters were handing the ball to the closer. I don't think you have that kind of rotation depth to expect your starters to go 7-8 innings in the playoffs
  13. 4 walks, 4 hits, 2HBP in 5IP is not very good. Clearly this is sarcasm. He's meat the next time he pitches
  14. Yankees signed Alex Vargas, the 16 yr old Cuban SS, for $2.5 mil yesterday. He’s got an advanced hit tool with 60 speed and elite defensive skills. He brings the total to 5 on the MLB.com top 30 list that the Yanks signed. 8, 10, 11, 12, and 30 http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2018/?list=int
  15. Pom had more velocity. When he was able to change the eye level, the breaking ball was deadly. For a guy without top end velocity, he was able to pitch 4 seamer up and curve down and really baffle hitters. Now, he cannot go up with his garbage heater or he’ll get wrecked. He doesn’t have the fastball command to stay down in the zone and without the high low plane change, he just cannot put away hitters with regularity. He’s done as is. He needs to sign a low guarantee deal with a non contender in the offseason and see if he can pitch with his new found loss of power. He reminds me of Masterson. A two pitch starter who was able to dominate hitters with high end stuff. Once the stuff faded, he wasn’t good enough to locate and win
  16. He’ll be DL’d. Lynn will start vs you guys
  17. Not hoping for the worst at all. If we beat you guys, I want to beat you with Sale
  18. Lynn will be starting in Happ’s place, most likely
  19. Not TJS. You don’t see shoulder pain associated with it. But you can see cuff issues as well as labrum issues
  20. They don’t know what he’s got.
  21. The Sox will win over 100. Thing is, the playoffs have become a pen game and the Sox pen doesn’t have enough in it to win on their own.
  22. I don’t know how DD doesnt upgrade the pen. Some of these guys are going for peanuts.
  23. I had heard some buzz about Stammen and Yates earlier, but silence now.
  24. Maybin brings them the ability to steal bases. Added speed doesn't hurt. Then again, Wade gives them that as well
