    He had a guy warming in the 3rd inning. Schmidt was already over 60 pitches when he gave up the HR to Joc. Boone's issue is he has a pretty good idea of when a pitcher is cooked. He just gets greedy and tries to get "one more out". It's April. This kid is not has not been a starter for 2 years now. He got above 60 pitches and was clearly running out of gas. Forget the outcome of the game. If his goal is to keep this kid's confidence and ensure he isn't going to break down, you pull him when he starts to show signs of fatigue. Maybe next turn through the rotation the kid gets tired at 70 or 80 pitches. Whatevever. But he clearly lost something in the 3rd inning, Boone saw it enough to get the pen warm. He just didn't act on it when he came out in the 4th and had nothing

    That's what they are doing. He's on the shelf with a "shoulder strain". Kid will get rehabbed, spend the entire 30 days in the minors, come up and then go back on the shelf. This will be more a development year than anything else and he gets to collect a big league paycheck

    I am sorry, the sox team doesn't hunt. You do not let a generational talent walk and replace him with nobody. You do not let a durable generational talent walk while your internal replacement holds an IL reservation on the yearly. You build a suspect, injury prone rotation and back it up with a terrible, washed up pen. This team is so poorly constructed it makes me wonder if Bloom is actively tanking to await the Yanks pulling back a bit

    It's better than that. They discarded Florial for discarded RS trash Franchy Cordero. Then, instead of giving one of their high upside arms a shot at the beginning of the year, they go with Brewer. Although the Brewer move is mostly placeholder status. He will get DFAd when one pitcher comes back, be it Rodon, Trivino, Kahnle or Sevy

    Also, I don't see the allure of Kluber and have zero f***ing idea why Kluber was the OD starter. Kluber is elderly in terms of a pitcher. Not just in age but in stuff. He cannot break 90 anymore. Plus, he absolutely imploded in the back half of the season last year. Era first half, mid 3's, ERA back half over 5. This was a stupid signing

    You won't have the luxury of facing the Orioles god awful pitching every game. Gibson as opening day starter is embarrassing for them. Sox pitching is gonna hold them back. Hitting will take a step back without Xander.
