  1. Last year, everything was clicking until we lost DJ and some of the older guys sputtered to the end. We had a chance to add impact players and we chose to go second tier and it bit us in the ass. This year, the old guys are still sputtering, we lost our ace and our pitching staff has been decimated by injury. There’s no fixing it for this year. I implore Cashman not to go for one year fixes. If he’s gonna get guys who are impactful, get them for 2024.
  2. Pitiful stay alert Yankees have been shutout by the Colorado bullpen over 9.2IP in the last two games. 9.2IP 4H 2BB 10K. This is the 4th worst bullpen in baseball playing in coors field.
  3. This might be just what the doctor ordered. Fire Cash and Boone. The pitching staff has real good bones for next year. Cole-Rodon-Schmidt-Cortes-German. Roll with them. The pen is deep as hell. Judge slots into a split RF/DH role. You roll with Volpe at SS. Every other position gets revamped. Donaldson is gone. DJ goes to super sub and maybe he can find his swing again. Maybe you re-sign Bader. You’re stuck with Stanton, he can be the other half of the RF/DH combo with Judge. You get 2 legit middle of the order hitters around Judge. Maybe one other kid hits it off and you roll. Right now, the only guy worth watching on offense is Volpe because you hope he starts to show his talent. The rest of the lineup is trash. I’d deal Torres for anything and promote Peraza for 2b. f***, this offense is broken. It was broken going into the season and they did nothing to address it
  4. They all aged overnight. Every veteran slugger minus Judge turned into a pumpkin overnight. They can’t hit. Pitchers try to be perfect and can’t. They’re about to implode
  5. Casey celebrating the fact that the game started with two runs. Then we went 5 innings of shutout ball against a guy with a 6+ ERA in Colorado. This team sucks
  6. Rodon struggling to locate the slider. Fastball is good, but not when the hitters know it's coming
  7. They’re not a .500 team without Aaron Judge. They’re 11 games over with him, 4 games under without him. If Judge needs surgery, just fix it now and affix him as the DH next year. His bat is legendary and we cannot afford to lose it. I honestly hope the yanks don’t go apeshit at the deadline. They need too much to contend.
  8. It was a roster built on pitching who’s seen the pitching go down. It was an offense built around former stars and Judge with the hope the vets could get it done. They haven’t. Judge gets hurt and the entire offensive landscape has changed. A torn toe ligament sounds like a nothing, but it’s gonna take some time to heal and might need surgery. I wouldn’t be surprised if Judge is out for all of 2023
  9. This is on Cashman and that hack Hal. He wants to just go get big stars but doesn't want to pay for them. He has a $293 mil investment and leaves it exposed. Awful management. While Boone needs to go, I feel for him right now. The guy has no other option other than s*** and more s***.
  10. They all fell off the cliff at the same time. They also have no major protector in their lineup. Judge was the straw that stirred the drink. Guys after him got pitches to hit with him on base, guys before him would see pitches so they didn't put them on for Judge.
  11. Stupid f***ing team. We are Judge dependent because our GM felt the need to add an injury prone starter vs offensive depth even though our offense has been the reason for losing the last 4 years. Now Judge is out for god knows how long and we cannot beat the hapless Red Sox. Figures. Hal finally came out and said that the Yanks need to target stars, but he won’t finance it, so who cares
  12. A joke of a game. The Yanks are a middling team without Judge. If he’s out for much longer, they’ll be dead and gone. Fire Boone, fire Cashman
  13. Cashman tried to buy cheap on a guy who was trending upward. $10 mil per annum for a 4WAR CFer is a cheap deal. But the guy ended up having a career year and parlayed it into that contract. Now, he will be a balance sheet error for a couple more years
  14. At the quarter pole, Volpe is on pace for a 3WAR rookie season. That’s not bad Judge has not been the issue. 10 days on the IL and still swinging a good, just not legendary, bat. The problem with this Yankee squad again is offense and health. Stanton and Donaldson go down. Judge went down for 10 days. That pushed utility guys into starting roles they have no business being in. Cabrera getting off to a slow start hasn’t helped either and Hicks literally should be cut. He’s been the worst player in baseball not named Miguel Cabrera. It’s good Schmidt had a great game two days ago, but he went up against an awful team. Maybe he turns a corner, who knows. But this team desperately needs Rodon and Sevy back. That’ll push Brito back to AAA for more seasoning and Schmidt to a swing role he’s better at. That’ll move King out of a swing role and into potentially the closers role and the best pen in baseball would get better. The Yanks problem this year is they’re in a division of world beaters. I don’t believe the Sox have staying power because they won’t be able to pitch well forever. The Jays and Rays do have staying power. The Os are tough. And the Yanks are not at 100% and won’t get there. This is why they may need to look at trading some of their expiring pieces (German, Sevy) if they start to fade
  15. It’s not their current standing. They’re injured and not getting better anytime soon. They just lost Bader again. Rodon had another setback. Trivino just had TJS.
  16. It might be time to consider selling. This team is too hurt to continue
  17. Peraza sprained an ankle
  18. Bader just got concussed
  19. Judge is also going to be a legacy Yankee, someone who's number will be retired. The Yanks couldn't hit last year. They retained Judge and Rizzo and added s*** else to the roster. Now Judge, Stanton, Donaldson, etc are out. Bader just got back. The kids might be fine, but you cannot thrust them into roles where they are counted on yet. Too early in their careers.
  20. You’re not wrong. My biggest critique of Cashman was not adding offense. And now we cannot hit at all
  21. Time for a lawnmower
  22. This is what happens when you field a team full of fragile flowers. You then spend big on another fragile flower. You don’t address the biggest issue on the team. You trade for a shitload of fragile flowers and deplete your farm. And then all the fragile flowers get hurt. Cashman has to go. He took a front running, top of the line team at the deadline and went “all-in” on second rate guys who were either hurt on arrival (Bader, Montas) or got hurt right away. He has to go
  23. I think we are approaching the time where Brian Cashman needs to be let go. Take Boone with him
  24. Judge to the IL Boone forcing Holmes again This team sucks to watch
