  1. Interesting how you included callups for the sox and not the Yanks, lol. Yanks will improve and will spend this offseason, I guarantee you this. Red Sox, who knows?
  2. Judge, Rizzo, Volpe, Torres are all average or better if they’re healthy. We’ve got 5 positions in the lineup set to be a minus without growth from a minor leaguer or resurgence from a vet. It can happen, but we need to add a couple impact bats Cortes in the red is ridiculous. The guys been nails for two seasons until he got hurt this year. Red maybe for health, but when he’s on he’s one of the best in the AL. Schmidt has proven to eat innings and limit runs. Not a front liner, but a solid back ended for now. If healthy, this rotation and pen will be really good. If no, so be it. I’m not worried about the arms. The bats are the issue
  3. He’s a Trea Turner type, IMO. He’s a keeper. Judge is a keeper. Gleyber is quietly having a good year. Everyone else in that lineup sucks
  4. It is irrelevant what they should do. It is what they will do. They aren't gonna tear it down.
  5. A total makeover is trading off all major pieces. As long as Cole and Judge wear the pinstripes, they won't go into a total makeover
  6. I disagree on the total makeover. Give me a team that can pitch and I will show you a team in contention. The Yanks were in a WC spot or near it until their rotation came apart at the seams. Cortes hasnt been right since ST. Groin strain then arm issues. They rushed him back to throw for a sinking ship and hurt him again. If he doesn't have a structural issue, he should be good come next year. Same thing with Rodon, the guy got hurt in ST and they rushed him back. Schmidt has been a revelation since April. German, for all his s***, is pretty good. Add in the fact that the Yanks look like the favorite to sign the Yamamoto and the rotation should be deep and strong. The pen is deep and strong and will have some arms returning as well as internal reinforcements coming up the ranks. Their issue is offense, and they've got the best offensive player in baseball on the team. Volpe is a piece to build around. He has been a 2WAR player to this point with a ridiculously low BABIP and a very high K rate well above his minor league norms. He will improve and could be a Trea Turner style disruptive player on the diamond as soon as next year. His August has been really good as well. Gotta remember, he just turned 22. Torres is a solid plus second basemen. Rizzo, when not concussed, is an above average 1b. Other than that, they've got hot garbage outside of the kids for the other 5 positions in the lineup. You have to add someone to Judge, preferably a left handed hitter with power that will make teams pitch to Judge. You almost have to keep Stanton and DJ, but Stanton would be a DH/RF platoonmate. The guy still obliterates lefties, but he no longer can hit against RHP. Lemahieu, if not pressed into daily duty might find something again. Father time sneaks up on good players and it is biting him. Recovery is an issue at 36. Should be looking to use him as a super sub and NEVER use him as a regular. Bader will hit FA and it's fine to let him walk. IKF, good riddance. Donaldson, f*** you. Our needs are many. DH vs RHP, CF, LF, 3B, C. Bottom line is, they have to add a LHH to be the Robin to Judge. That would allow you to slot Torres at the top of the order, see if Volpe takes that next step, Rizzo for veteran leadership and roll with the kids thereafter. Lineup would be a lot better. Maybe not WS worthy, but contention for sure
  7. There is no way they truly rebuild. They’re not gonna waste the prime years of Judge and Cole trotting our dogshit. Hal is gonna have to open the wallet, but in the end, they need to can the guy who got them into this mess. Rodon’s deal after year 1 looks bad. He may bounce back and probably should, but adding an injury prone starter to an injury prone team was a poor choice. Stanton’s trade went south almost immediately. Lemahieu’s parlayed his last great season into an albatross contract. The Donaldson deal went to s*** as well as Urshela would have been a capable 3b and the guy they got to play SS got the yips
  8. Someone will take a swing at Stanton if his cost is bought down. I’m wondering what that number is. $5 mil a year? Yanks farm is good and near prospects are ready. Dominguez, Pereira, Volpe, Wells, Peraza. Volpe is taking his lumps, but he’s proven he belongs. What they need is a robin to Judge’s Batman. They will need to spend there but also replace some of the old, injured detritus on the cheap. They need a catcher badly. Trevino was a flash in the pan and Higgy isn’t a C1. Rizzo was lights out til he got his lights knocked out. He’s a good piece. The Yanks pitching is set to be good. Health was the issue. Pen will be solid and adds Effross again. Cole will return. Cortes and Rodon should be healthy. Schmidt has been really good. German will return. Yanks also in on the Japanese phenom as well. Their issue has been offense. Add a big piece and then add in some youth and they should contend. But when Stanton, Donaldson and Lemahieu are expected to be middle or top of the order bats and they disappear, you’re not gonna contend.
  9. Pereira and Peraza coming up and starting. Should be starting Wells at 1b too. No reason to trot out the detritus
  10. Who knows. I can tell you this, the Yanks cannot tolerate being this bad. This offseason, they almost have to get Ohtani now
  11. Craziest thing now is that there is so much parity, the Yanks may sneak into a top 10 pick. These are protected from dropping back 10 spots. They are currently 12th. Mets, SD, Cleveland and Washington are within 4 games and they all look to be doing better than this shitshow team.
  12. Please close this out. Drive us down. Get Boone and Cash fired. Please
  13. Offensive woes were definitely predictable, but the drop off from last year to this one is stunning
  14. They showed cracks after the ASB last year but they also started resting players and coasted most of the second half. Hard to look at that and consider it a trend
  15. Just sweep us. Time to get a better draft spot for next year. This team is cooked
  16. Yankees injuries have destroyed their chances of sneaking into the playoffs, but their core issue is rot. The team got old in a season. Every producer who was killing it during the 99 win 02 campaign has taken a step back. We added a rookie who probably needed a half season in AAA. We did not add anyone of impact on offense and once Judge got hurt, the house of cards collapsed. The icing on the cake is losing Montas, Cortes, Rodon and having Sevy turn into a pinata. Their fall will be big. They will likely finish well under .500 for the first time in 31 years. They can jettison some cash this offseason with Sevy, Donaldson, Montas, Bader, and IKF all pretty easy candidates to walk. That puts $55 mil back into the coffers. They have some young kids who for some reason have gotten zero run with the big league club. I would have Wells at 1b and Pereira in LF ASAP. Why not. I would find a way to work Cabrera in more to try and see if he can shake off a horrible 2023. I would start Peraza every day as well. I'd moth ball Cole by mid September and get him ready for next year. Don't even both bringing back Rodon this year. Make sure he is ready for 24. We will need him. Same with Cortes. You still have Stanton and DJ. I said at the beginning of the year that DJ cannot be leaned on to be a full time player and that turned out to be correct. He has been pressed into daily duty with Donaldson being hurt and he just can't do it anymore. He goes into the super sub role. Stanton is a candidate for DFA or a heavily financed trade to see if a change of scenery would help. Either way, this has been a complete and utter unmitigated disaster of a season and it should teach Hal a lesson. The Yankees cannot become irrelevant. The fans will stop coming. The cash cow will not continue to roll out millions in revenue if the team isn't good
  17. I’ve said before and I’ll say again. Cashman messed up and it should cost him his job
  18. Wells threw his hungover
  19. Seems German just couldn’t watch this team anymore. Many rehabs are full of die hard Yankee fans this year
  20. Sox should sell as should the Yanks
  21. They’re still trying to bring Judge back. Have his surgery and make sure he’s right for 24. This season is lost.
  22. This team is unwatchable. I hope they sell off
  23. Trevino out for the year.
  24. Has Jack McDowell written all over it
