  1. Its a baseball message board for a team predicted to suck and it is February. Fights will break out. Blow off steam and go from there. If you want to fight, make a fight thread and hash it out
  2. https://www.justbaseball.com/betting/2023-mlb-win-total-projections-early-over-under-picks/ Some under overs for wins and losses. Red sox at 76.5 and the lean is under. Yanks at 95 with an over lean I am sorry sox fans, this sox team just don't hunt. Maybe, just maybe, all the broken parts fit together and they contend for the final WC slot, but it looks like the season is gonna be a total loss. As a Yankee fan, I do not like it when Boston is just s*** from day 1. I like the rivalry, I want to look at a Yanks Sox game and be excited for it, not think of it as a steamroller game
  3. Machado will get enormous money. He's playing in a massive park and still smashing bombs. He will also hit FA 9 months older than Aaron Judge and he just got $40 mil per.
  4. What do they see in the guy they got for German? Strange
  5. He's the classic buy down candidate with a short rehab year and then options for years thereafter. And he's coming back from TJS and has been one of the most consistent relievers in the game the last 5 years.
  6. I’m actually pretty surprised the socks didn’t sign Chad Green.
  7. I honestly don’t understand that move. He developed how they hoped and cut him after a 4 inning cameo?
  8. He’s still rehabbing and may not be ready for opening day
  9. Matt isn’t eligible for the Rule V. He’d have to be cut
  10. They must have found a taker
  11. He is never, ever healthy. His greatest asset (speed) just got hammered with an ACL injury. This is turning a known ball of s*** and trading it for another ball of s*** who might improve if he can stay healthy. It isn't a bad deal for what you gave up, but relying on this guy is a fools errand
  12. IKF was the real target, the Yanks took on Donaldson to add upgrade on Gio offensively and balance the money. Gio plus Sanchez were costing $17mil. IKF was $6 mil. So the Twins didn't want to add $11 mil to payroll, so the Yanks took a "still prime" producer in Donaldson who could play 3b
  13. He’s gonna bring back more than that if they move him. The Dodgers would have been an intriguing spot before they took the guy from Miami. My wonder is if the Yanks just aren’t sold on the kids to take over the position right now and want IKF there as a transition type guy
  14. I could see an IKF move to the Sox. I know Yanks-Sox trades aren’t always popular, but it fits a need for you and removes an obstacle for us. I would think we could get more than a AAAA player in Duran, though. And Peralta too? Lol. You couldn’t get either of those players for Duran in a single deal, let alone both
  15. Yanks unwilling to go past the final financial hurdle. This is annoying. You spent all this money and left a gaping hole in the OF/lineup. Cash better hope Cabrera can handle the job.
  16. You thought the same thing last year until a stiff wind broke Sale's ribs while throwing
  17. Cora said plan is to start Arroyo at 2b and Kike at SS to start the year. There will be a race to the IL with those two
  18. I am still curious as to who the sox SS will be. I know Iglesias and Andrus are out there, but thus far no bites apparently
  19. Doesn't really matter. You know the sox are gonna be suspect at best in 2023.
  20. Tapia made a lot of sense after signing Duvall. Duvall, if healthy, should mash in Fenway. Tapia is Duvall insurance and can be a PR/4th OFer if needed. I honestly think Duvall is going to have a good season and be prime trade bait at the deadline. He is the new Renfroe
  21. Duvall is a good signing for the money, but you’re gonna count on him as a middle of the order bat. We shall see if he stays healthy enough to earn a second contract
  22. Yanks need a replacement for King. I think German profiles better as a starter as he’s got a deep arsenal without a lights out pitch. Schmidt has a deep arsenal, but his slider is nasty. He profiles better as a multi inning reliever than German does
  23. Not so bad, lol. Interestingly, all those injuries minus Green were at the ASB or later
  24. My thoughts on the Story case are that the Sox knew there was some damage. Story probably chose rest and rehab. It rarely works (see Tanaka) but it’s the patient’s decision. My bet is Bloom is staying quiet to protect Story from Boston’s ire. A good exec takes the heat even when it may not be warranted
