  1. Dustin Pedroia ties it up, but opens the pressure valve
  2. you dont even need to swing
  3. I dont wanna stop drinking. I leave Hawaii today.
  4. No, no I dont. Especially since you responded
  5. He's starting to get to a concerning point with his consecutive bad outings. He's been 1 pitch from hanging an 8 in the run column in his last few starts. His ERA is 5, but he actually should be higher. His pitchability and poise is getting him through the difficult runs, but he'll get less lucky eventually. Farrell needs to pull him aside and break down his mechanics. Something isnt right
  6. 1-2-3 inning with Joba up to 97mph. Nice.
  7. 2 run error by Tejada. I'll take it after having 1st and 3rd with 0 out and not scoring. 3-1 heading into the 8th, Joba on the hill. A bit nervous
  8. Beltre is having a hell of a yr. He keeps this up, then he's bolting for a pretty nice deal after this season. The sox needed this with Pedroia and VMart hitting like they are.
  9. A WHIP of 1.30 in the AL East is pretty f***ing good. It was worse than his prior season and his K's dropped, but the WHIP was impressive.
  10. 2009 stats- 15-13, 220.1IP 214H 94ER 127K 65BB 3.84ERA 1.27WHIP. If that line above is an ass-kicking, then you sir are an idiot. Please, keep digging, I love watching you flail.
  11. Yep, the sox are winning this game
  12. Are the sox doing a Yankee impression with runners in scoring position?
  13. you will. You'll get the A's pen for 4 innings, you should win assuming Lackey holds his own
  14. AND HE WAS A 200IP 4.5ERA guy in Boston when they dealt him. Do I think he could continue that? Well, he did it, then proved he could do it over and over and over again in Cincy, so why not. You're grabbing at straws here
  15. I criticized Penny because he SUCKED in his season prior to coming to Boston in the NL and I criticized Smoltz cause he came off shoulder surgery. Seriously, can you ever question anything the team does? This deal was a complete flop, they dealt a guy they could have used for a project who didnt turn out. Just admit it, damn you're thick headed.
  16. Cmon now, I use it here and there.
  17. NOW THAT'S THE VAZQUEZ I THOUGHT WE WERE GETTING!!! 7IP, 4H 1ER 7K 1BB. And he sacks up in a jam and finishes it. 3 solid starts out of 4. ERA down to 6, and with the warmer weather comes some more heat (sitting 90-91 today). My bet is he continues this run for a little while
  18. He typically gets weak hacks and lots of weak grounders when he is going right. He's elevating too much
  19. Yeah, he declined in yr 2. What is your point? By your logic, he should have stabilized in the NL Central, then decline again into oblivion. In the AL East, he was good enough to be a middle of the rotation starter. He's been durable and effective. Would he be an ace? Absolutely not. But would he have made things a whole lot easier over the past few seasons? You betcha.
  20. and its the A's, who suck at hitting. Boy, Lackey still has good stuff, he just seems to leave it over the plate far too often
  21. He's got a WHIP in the 1.3 range this yr. Last yr, he had one under 1.3. He's thrown 5 straight seasons of 200IP +. In his 2 yrs in Boston, he threw 384IP and had a WHIP under 1.3. Yes, I do think he could be a 200IP 4.5ERA guy in the AL East. He was better than that when he was traded and aside from 1 season, he probably would have been there. Regardless, he would have been incredibly useful on the sox in 2006 and 2008. WHere's WMP now?
  22. Its almost expected. Ridiculous. Girardi should start having guys squeeze
  23. Yep, Lackey is working on his DiceK seal of approval. I think next inning, he's gonna give up a leadoff triple, walk 2 guys on 8 pitches, then strike out the side.
  24. John Lackey is learning from the DiceK school of pitching. Put a ton of runners on and figure a way out of it
