  1. 1. Kolbrin Vitek 2. Bryce Brentz 3. Anthonyt Ranaudo Hell of a pick. Tough sign, Boras client. Throws ched, has some serious injury concerns. He could be a f***ing steal here and their draft looks very, very solid again. The first 2 picks are just solid, solid players and this one is your high upside, high risk guy. Just great drafting thus far for the sox.
  2. I agree. Don't like this one at all. Hope I eat a lot of crow here, but not impressed. There was a rumor that NY wasnt going over slot in this draft, and this does nothing to defray that idea
  3. 1. Kolbrin Vitek 2. Bryce Brentz Brentz out of Middle Tennessee St University, he is a hell of a pick. He's gonna cost a pretty penny. Kid has some serious power AND is another guy who fits into the "ball player" mold.
  4. Looks like Ranaudo and Allie are falling to the sox. I dont care if the kid injects buckets of roids into his pitching arm. If he doesnt get suspended, and can play, then put him in pinstripes.
  5. Apparently he has shot up draft boards lately due to his arm, which ranks 65 on the 20-80 scale. Piliere says "don't kill the pick" as he has had good showings. But he is a project and "might" stick at SS. I dont want to see "might". This kid's value is as a SS, if he moves off SS (a black hole after Nunez in our system) then his worth plummets.
  6. Certainly was not a high profile guy. Definitely a reach. SS/RHP, Switch hitter, solid athlete, throws 94mph as a right handed pitcher. Athletic pick, but really? Must have thought Allie et al were unsignable. This reaks of CJ Henry all over again. Hope I am wrong
  7. Cito Culver SS out of NY. WTF??
  8. Yankees on the board. Lots of possibilities, Vettleson, Allie, Wilson, Wojo. Who will it be. Surprised so much talent fell to them
  9. Thank GOD O'Connor is off the board. I would lose it if they drafted another f***ing catcher
  10. My hope is actually that we draft Stetson Allie. Throws f***ing smoke
  11. He's a top 15 talent, and some draft people consider him a top 10 talent. With our resources and our draft spot, it isnt a bad decision. But he could be wrong and we could go for another HS arm
  12. These Guardians suck
  13. If we can sign him, then it is a great pick.
  14. y228, hearing from Piliere that it will be Austin Wilson
  15. Have now read a few sites and have seen some analysis on this pick from the scout.com site as well as a few others. Sounds like a ball player. A hard nosed, all purpose ball player. Good bat with upside, will steal some bases, has a good arm. Not a guy slated to hit 30 homers, but just a good bat with good tools. A solid, unspectacular pick who should rise the ranks fast.
  16. Biddle was another name on our board. Gone-sky
  17. If he at least listens to the Yankees, then it might be breakable. Cole didnt even listen
  18. BTW, must say that Donald really looks like a smooth SS. His bat will get better too.
  19. But I would rather see Cox here. He sounds like a f***ing beast
  20. The teams hope they change their approach. Giambi tried to change his approach for one season and then got into a funk.
  21. I heard about him as the next viable option. Assuming no major drops, I think Vettleson has to be the most logical option here
