  1. Oh, I know it is moot. I just caught heat for pontificating that Hall might be worth more than Hermida.
  2. CC has good velocity. He just has no fastball location tonight.
  3. Prior was run into the ground by an idiot manager. Strasburg has very good mechanics. Yes, his arm-whip has a correlation (be it real or mythical) with increased injury. But I like his mechanics. Not too herky-jerky and ends up in a straight plane to the plate, which IMO is the best way to prevent injury. IE, throwing across your body stresses tendons in your cuff in more ways than throwing downhill, like SS does. If he is handled properly, his stuff equates to a Cy Young/HOF caliber pitcher. He has three generational pitches. IE, the best pitches in a generation. He reminds me of a bigger Pedro. Locates precisely, throws incredibly hard, has run to his FB, sink to his 2 seamer, sharp, late bite to the curve and serious deception and run to his changeup. If this guy stays healthy, he is gonna be dominant, and probably a Yankee in 6 yrs on a contract unseen by a pitcher in history.
  4. Guys, how many times do I have to tell you, MY dick is bigger
  5. I stand by my initial prediction that Hermida gets DFA'd before Hall
  6. $1.6 million is a tough sign Dojji. That's mid 1st round money
  7. It was inside, but it wouldnt have changed the outcome. Suns, your team sucks like Jenna Jameson . Long, and hard
  8. Not surprised. They probably had an agreement prior to the draft. I will be surprised if the sox sign Ranaudo or Workman et al early.
  9. Yeah, they made their picks count. I love the athleticism and the fact that they went so young. Means that a lot of their arms and bats in SI are gonna get a chance to graduate into long season next yr while the kids groom in the short season
  10. 14th round: Travis Dean, RHP, Newton South HS, MA Another big framed pitcher from the prep ranks
  11. 13th Round pick: Chris (Tyler) Austin- C/OFer from Heritage HS in Georgia
  12. 12th Round pick: Daniel Burawa, RHP, St John's U He's big, he throws hard (95mph). He sounds pretty raw for a college draftee, but out of the pen he could be something. Not a bad pick at 12
  13. 11th Round pick: Zachary Varce, RHP, Portland University
  14. Cecchini was a first round talent prior to tearing his ACL. I doubt the sox sign him, seeing as he is still rehabbing and is probably at his low point in terms of stock. But if the sox were to offer him late 1st round money (like $1.2 mil) he might bite. Also, remember, the commish is cracking down on teams who break the bank in the first 10 rounds, I expect the next 10 to have their share of signability guys
  15. I knew exactly what you were doing since I remember that post well. Hence why I didnt bite nor fight with you
  16. From RAB on Gamel Another athlete with a hard working attitude and a good skillset.
  17. Taylor Morton is a big framed HS righty from Tennessee who has seen his velocity top out in the mid 90s, although he was all over the map this yr. Apparently has a plus changeup and a work in progress curve. Regardless, big, young, HS arms capable of running it up into the mid 90s are exactly what the Yankee system loves.
  18. Taylor Anderson, our 6th round pick, was dynamite in LA, hitting .625 with 70% of his hits going for extra bases. Had a recent growth spurt, that took him up to 6'1" and is starting to fill out. Listed as an OFer, Taylor may profile best as a 2b. Kyle Roller is a masher. Smashed 10 homers in the cape league last yr, then walked 61 times and smacked another 12 for the East Carolina Pirates. Complete lack of athleticism, though, as he was a DH for most of his career at ECU. Profiles as an above average bat, but a serious liability at 1B
  19. 10th Round: Benjamin Gamel- CF, Bishop Kenny HS, FL. Another athletic player
  20. Dipre, keep trying to dig up something that isnt there. Spin those wheels. SPIN THEM!!
  21. Thus far the sox are going with another shock and awe approach. They wont sign them all, but boy do they have some talent. The Yankees and Sox couldnt be taking more different approaches. The sox are going for the higher signability guys early, knowing they wont get them all. The Yankees are going a bit over slot on some guys, but all have significant athleticism, leaving them free to grab some low hanging fruit later on. Different models, but I like this Yankee draft thus far and I think sox fans should be very pleased with theirs thus far
