  1. Is it to early for Tito to move Youk back in the 1 hole? Personally, i think it is. Here is what I think the lineup should be: Coco Loretta Papi Manny Youk Lowell Nixon Tek Gonzalez/Cora The reason for the Youk and Lowell in the 5/6 is because if Youk gets on, which we all know he does a lot of, Lowell can drive him in with his 2B's. What do you think?
  2. LaPorta and Lars Anderson are supposed to be hard to sign because they dropped so far.
  3. big soccer fan here.
  4. If this is serious, the Cards can kiss this division good bye.
  5. David Eckstein, Craig Biggio, Reed Johnson and Marcus Giles.
  6. Yeah, he is very, very toolsy. I think of him as a lesser Hanley Ramirez.
  7. tuesday. the sox could also take: Matt LaPorta (1B Florida, rated by Baseball America as having the best power out of all college hitters, represented by Boras) and Max Sapp (High school catcher, baseball america says he has the third best power bat out of high school hitters).
  8. i think williams would be great. I think Delonte would be a great guy to come of the bench and provide a spark for us. He would start for the year or half a year and then when williams is ready we put him in as a more pure PG. I would love to see the C's get Gay, Foye or Lowry.
  9. i think Joe Kennedy would be solid as a fifth starter for us. His career numbers arent that good, but keep in my mind he was in Coors for a couple years. Also, he pitched in Tampa for a couple of years, so he is familiar with the enviroment of the AL East.
  10. As for Hernandez, the Nats would probably ask for a very good prospect. I would love for the Sox to get a guy like Williamson to streghten the pen and a guy like Matt Lawton, who was recently put on waivers buy the mariners, as a fourth outfielder until Wily Mo comes back. We should get a starter, but not if the asking price is a top prospect (Lester, Pedroia, Hansen, Ellsbury, Lowrie etc.). Maybe a Julio Lugo for SS? The Rays would definetly trade him, but in the past they have always wanted a top prospect for a player like him (over the winter they wanted Marte for him).
  11. yeah. nice to see him starting to pitch well. It will help us a lot with Timlin on the DL.
  12. hmmmm... i thought i heard that lester wasn't close to coming up "Jon Lester will not be taking David Wells' spot in the rotation; Lester's in finishing school, says Theo Epstein" according to Buster Olneys blog at ESPN.com
  13. according to baseball america, parmelee has the best plate discipline out of all high school hitters.
  14. WHo will get called up next? Hansen Lester Pedroia Choi (i know he is past prospect status, but he is young enough to still have star potential) Anyone else who is ready to get called up? I am sure there are others. Personally, I don't think Dave Murphy is ready. He was struggiling in Portland, but still got promoted. Here is how I view things: Hansen (40 %) Lester (15 %) Pedroia (20 %) Choi (25 %)
  15. oh whoops
  16. Any readers of Baseball Prospectus here? If you aren't, check it out (baseballprospectus.com). The Sox are a so called 'stat' team, so if you want to learn more about that kind of stuff, check it out.
  17. Yup. I'm here and ready to talk some SOX!
  18. I wouldn't do that. Verlander is really, really good and so is Zumaya, but Zumaya hasn't really harnessed his control yet (4.21 BB/9, not excactly great). Hansen was being considered as a top 10 pick last year, but because of Boras he dropped to us. And Paps, he is just nasty. I think Hansen is better then Zumaya, but Verlander is better then Paps, but I think the difference between Hansen and Zumaya is bigger then the diff. between Paps and Verlander. So :thumbdown
