  1. You're an idiot. Did you just list those 3 players to try and impress us that you met them, or that you really think they are the "ideal HOF?". Anyways, you really need to check yourself. :thumbdown
  2. hopefully he doesn't start using the "blister" excuse again
  3. Even if it stinks up the joint? Or gets hurt again? I don't think that teams normally play hurt players.
  4. That's a little harsh. I think he was just wondering why, not that it was a big deal. I don't think Griffey tried to make it a big deal either - The only reason I knew is because I follow the Reds, and read it on their website a couple months ago.
  5. didn't he get pissed off too when a reporter asked if he still wanted to be traded?
  6. he looks like a convict in that photo
  7. I agree and I don't think it takes away from him. Its just that we sometimes do look at everything through rose-colored glasses. I just like to play devil's advocate, so that we don't all suck each other's wee-wee's too much.
  8. I know everyone makes errors, but Tony G. did flub up that play in the White Sox series, that probably lost one of those games for them. (I'm sure the White Sox would have still won the series, though, so probably not a big deal.)
  9. I hope for the Red Sox and our sake that he does play well (outstanding), and has no injury problems. Let's talk in September.
  10. Okay, you convinced me. Josh Beckett is the next Nolan Ryan.
  11. Stop getting so defensive about it. I am just saying that if a blister stops him from pitching (and he has had shoulder problems too, right), then: 1) he is an outstanding pitcher, when he isn't injured (a blister is an injury) 2) Until he proves he doesn't get blisters in the arctic climate of boston (I hear it is really cold, especially in July and August), then I don't consider him outstanding.
  12. so why was he the only Florida pitcher to get blisters?
  13. Does Boston have special, magic blister medication?
  14. Unfortunately though he has never pitched more than a 180 (and most of the time less) innings in a season. My definition of an outstanding pitcher includes one that can hold up and pitch the whole season.
  15. I never said they didn't want value for him, but you are never going to get equal value for him. The reason it has been so hard to trade him is that salary. No one wanted him when he was put on waivers a couple years ago, but maybe you don't remember that?!
  16. I think it is just far too early to call any of them outstanding.
  17. I am not sure that the Sox have been trying to get equal value for him (because that is nearly impossible), but just get rid of him and that big salary that Duquette gave him. However, I do think this would be a dumb trade and I don't want Sheffield anywhere near a Red Sox uniform.
  18. I agree that they will probably be outstanding, my none of them has proven anything yet, except for maybe Beckett for a couple games in the World Series.
  19. There is an article in Newsday, saying that the Yanks and Sox should trade Manny and Sheffield straight up. It would give the Sox salary relief that they want, get Manny out of town, and maybe make Sheffield happy, especially if the Sox picked up his option. Right now it is just some columnists dumb idea, but what do you guys think? http://www.newsday.com/sports/printedition/ny-sphey274643492feb27,0,6660677.column?coll=ny-sports-print
  20. God I hate Soriano! He is such a baby.
  21. I'll give you credit for coming up with all that. But the Red Sox are big spenders, so the chances that in the next couple years we will sign a big free agent name to take the place of Nixon, Ortiz, or Lowell. Unfortunately, some of those prospects will never reach potential or will be traded.
  22. welcome aboard
  23. I don't see trading Wells to someone other than a West Coast team. Though he doesn't have a no-trade, no one will take a chance trading for him and then he doesn't go because its not West Coast. Also, we should keep Clement until we get into the season, see how he does (hope he increases his value) and then trade him.
  24. welcome, hopefully we will have some more transplants!
  25. Is the reason Wells hasn't been traded because no one want him, or because we haven't got an offer we liked??
