  1. It is too bad Arroyo is so inconsistent. Last May I went to a Tigers/Red Sox game in Detroit, and Arroyo had a no hitter going until like the 7th inning, when Carlos Guillen squeaked a homer past the right field foul pole. But he pitched awesome that day.
  2. Unfortunately I don't see him finishing the season with the Sox. Although the way Arroyo has been pitching this spring, maybe we should trade him.
  3. Can a mod close this poll, since it was only a joke, and not really a necessary part of this thread any longer? Thanks!
  4. I agree, just because Wells says he will stay, I could very easily see him getting disgruntled and being a distraction. Plus he will only be around this year. With so many other starters, I think that we should still try and deal him (we don't even need to get much for him, just send him to the National League where he can't hurt us)
  5. Just a thought, but how do people think that someone like Arroyo would be as a closer? He has some pretty nasty stuff, a rubber arm, and seems like he would have the right mentality. I dunno...
  6. No problem fellas. I agree that people won't always get along, that's just a fact of life.
  7. Giving s*** is one thing, I mean it is a message board after all. But making them feel small, and that there opinion has no validity is another. :thumbdown
  8. Ya, it must suck to delete people's posts that I don't like, like some of your mods do. Anyways, since no body has figured it out, it's a joke, I don't want to be a mod of this little piece of the internet.:harhar:
  9. I agree that is the best scenario, but it may be wishful thinking.
  10. No, it's probably only a dozen. Because that is about how many people (who aren't already mods) post on this board. Because all you "long-timers" chase every new person away. (Examples: BH guys, Rivernator, the NE Patriot people, and many others who weren't made to feel welcome the first time they didn't agree with the majority)
  11. I agree that we need a great and consistent closer to win the division this year. But I am not convinced that guy has to be Foulke. I think someone like Hansen or Papelbon, or maybe even Timlin would do fine.
  12. It looks like my life's dream will never come true........
  13. Everyone thinks I'm an idiot? I'm hurt. John Damon and I are going to go cry together, since no one in Boston likes either of us.
  14. I am starting a poll to see if I can be elected a moderator for this board. Mostly I want to be one so I can delete the posts of people I don't like, or don't agree with me. Please vote in the poll and get me elected!!!
  15. I remember watching him when he was a Red, he was fun to watch and a pretty good player.
  16. Riverside, like I said, I hope that he does pitch well this season. But just because he is young, doesn't mean that he will be great. Just look at Mark Prior, and especially Kerry Wood. They both showed signs of greatness, both are young, but chances are they will not be great again (though Prior has a chance). Hammer, I am not a pessimist, nor do I bash guys like Wells, Curt, Foulke like you mentioned. I am just trying to be a realist because there are so many unknowns with Beckett. To name: It's a lot different pitching in Boston than Miami (weather, attention, media), he has had injury problems (blisters, shoulder). Maybe I am just not as optimistic about him because I haven't seen him pitch too often. Lastly, I am not trying to piss everyone off everytime I comment in a Beckett thread, I am just trying to be a devil's advocate so that all us Sox fans don't keep sucking each other off about our team constantly. Especially since we have apparently scared away most of the people that didn't agree with us (like what happened to all those BH guys, Rivernator?).
  17. HOSN, I think everyone was just so upset not because we don't agree that we was a jerk off the field, but that you posted this within minutes of the guy dying.
  18. Sorry, I can read, just not comprehend. Guess I should have been a Marine, dammit.....
  19. Personal insults will get you no where.
  20. Don't worry about it "What". Singer acts condesending to everyone.
  21. Why do all the Red Sox fans on here suck Beckett's dick constantly? He has not proven himself over a full season yet, and until he does (and I hope he does and that I am wrong) I won't be a sucker.
  22. okay, fair enough. And show the damn Yankee fan respect too!!
  23. Too early to go. RIP
  24. One Red Seat does not care about anyone but the Red Sox, so he doesn't care. Most of us are baseball fans, and appreciate what Griffey did for baseball in the prime of his career, and for the role model that he tries to be (doesn't complain about playing for the Reds, takes pay cuts/defers pay, loves his kids/wife). Show the man some respect.
