He was kidding about having Manny join the Yanks? Didn't sound like he was joking in the article - I don't think he is smart enough to make jokes.

I think his wife had alot to do with him going to the Yanks. I am sick of wives of players thinking that they are stars themselves. (Like Anna Benson). Just because you are made of plastic and are rich doesn't make you a star.

Did you see this article in the NY Times, where Damon says that Manny would be a good fit for the Yanks. He says we would be able to "relax", unlike with the Sox or the Mets. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/01/sports/baseball/01damon.html?pagewanted=all Is he on drugs? Does he think we would ever trade Manny to the Yanks? Why don't we send them Schilling and Beckett while we are at it?

No matter how little power Youk hits for, how can he be worse than Millar last year? What did he have, like 6 or 7 homers all year?

So why do you think Youk will be one of the worst 1B in the game? He doesn't hit for much power, but gets on base alot, which is what this team needs with guys like Manny, Papi, Tek on the team. Maybe he isn't the greatest defensively (but he sure can't be worse than Millar), but since when does everyone think you need this great defensive player at first? Up until a few years ago, teams put their old, slow guys at first. I remember watching guys like Pete Rose, in his 40's, play first base for the Reds, and no one batted an eye.

I don't think Manny will ever get traded because no one wants/can afford that monster contract he has. Unless the Sox ate a big part of it, which seems kinda dumb.

So what does the Major Leager/All-Star/Single-A thing mean? How many posts? How much contributed? -
Can I just say that I think Youkilis, Loretta, Lowell will more than make up for Millar (who just plain sucked), Mueller (great defense, but lost all power after the bad knees), and Bellhorn/Graffino. Youk won't hit for much power either, but he is an OBP machine, which is what we need with all the power we do have.

If Manny was traded, Big Papi would get walked so much. He might not break BB's record, but it would kill our offense.

Hey Everyone, I am a huge Sox fan, but unfortunately live in Michigan. I lived in Worcester for awhile, that is how I got to be a Sox fan. I am in my last semester of engineering school, and served in the Navy for 6 years. I am a huge baseball fan, and frequent all the major baseball/sports websites everyday, so I consider myself pretty knowledgable. I have also been to 4 Sox games the past few years, including 2 at Fenway. Thanks for welcoming me and I look forward to contributing!
