  1. It felt strange to root for Jeter and Arod when watching the game. I agree though, this game wasn't just Arod's fault. Everyone except the Braves (Chipper and Francour) didn't do anything.
  2. Better watch that heresey! Seabeachfred will be after you for that!
  3. Ya, I have been to Oakland Coliseum (or whatever its called) before and it is a dump. It's not like there is a ton of history there either, so I say demo that bad boy!
  4. Now we just need to get Papi back safe and sound!
  5. velcome aboard
  6. Are the semi-finals and finals going to be shown live, or delayed? I am worried since the games will be played on the West Coast.
  7. as long as he doesn't come to the Red Sox I am happy.
  8. I think intangibles are overrated. People look for that person on teams that win (like the 04 Sox), but plenty of non-championship winning teams have those players on them as well, but no one makes a big deal about it. I'm glad Millar is on the O's, so he can suck for them this year.
  9. I never watch college basketball, EXCEPT for March Madness. I will admit it is fun to watch, even though I don't really like basketball.
  10. For speed we do have Crisp and Stern (at least for the first 18 games)
  11. I agree with some of that. I just think that he was a defensive liability and proved last year that he couldn't hit. (9 hr, .272 BA).
  12. You'd rather have Millar? Why? That guy was horrible last year (probably because they started testing for 'roids last year, so he had to stop them).
  13. You took the words right out of my mouth. That guy is sooo bad on defense, and really doesn't do much on offense. I'd much rather have Loretta.
  14. Right, but my point was that one reason that committee didn't work was that we had such a loser as the chairman. We have much better options this year than we did then.
  15. True, but didn't we use Byung Kim as one member of that committee??
  16. I'm aware. But him and Pedro are Dominican and RSN owes them alot.
  17. I agree. It seems like the Latin countries are much more into it and I think they deserve to win. Plus we owe so many of our players to the Domincan (Papi, Pedro, Manny), so I kinda hope they win it.
  18. i agree that we should give Foulke a chance, he has earned that. We have enough good pitchers that even if Foulke sucks and we can't trade for anyone, we will be able to find someone to do a good job, whether that is Hansen, Timlin, Arroyo, whoever. i don't know if I agree with it or not, but in Moneyball, Bill Beane feels that you can make anyone a closer, and that many teams overpay for "closers". I know the commitee thing didn't work for us a couple years ago, but I think the whole "closer" thing is a little overrated.
  19. ya, i don't think a bad outing will make the FO give up on him. I think they figured he was a year or more out from the majors anyways. he'll get better.
  20. The only problem with saying that "we can trade for someone at the deadline" is that so many teams are looking for relief pitching in July, and less teams are out of the race in July also so the seller's market is very small.
  21. I thought USA/Japan was tomorrow?
  22. he could be in the pen even if clement or wells is traded.
  23. Holy crap!! 17-0 in 5 innings? So did they actually call a forfeit?
  24. How has Farnsworth done so far? I haven't heard anything about him yet.
