Yeah- I agree with both of you that it is light- I guess the "one more" leaves a lot open to interpretation.

How about Ellsbury, Masterson, Kottraras and one more? i think they'd be happy with the value back plus the $$$ coming off the books. I suppose it doesn't matter since it sounds as if they are done talking.

Id much rather see Ellsbury go, see Hanley in CF, and see the extra pitching prospects that we otherwise would have traded be left in the system.

I see what you mean-particularly about the crisp trade and having two speedsters like Ells and Hanley followed by power makes a team very dangerous. I also think, though, that there are options available for a centerfielder (payton, for one). Further, it appears that Ellsbury is the guy the marlins apparently want, and being an MLB player he would significantly decrease the other talent in the deal.

Yeah- you share an outlook close to mine for next season. Right now I think we are the 3rd best of the 3 teams, but its essentially impossible to tell these things in the offseason, and I see very little space between 1st and 3rd. Anything can happen- we shall see.
