The difference between Arod and team ball was on display last night. Yanks down 4-1, bases loaded for Arod on a 3-1 count and Arod 7 irons ball 4 into a 5-4-3 inning ending dp and the guys who have been riding the yankees for the last month were going out of their minds because that ball was so low i swear it bounced before Arod swung at it.

Good morning ms lynda. how are you and the good folks on Jefferson Davis Hwy this morning? Its been an awfully long time since we chatted, hope all is well with Rico, Nick and your charming Sister in Law who keeps emailing nude photos of herself. Kidding of course, we're all well here in the valley of the mighty blackstone, are you coming to boston this summer?

Joe Foy, Reggie#7 and the Hawk were my boyhood heros. Over the years I had the pleasure of seeing the most dominant pitching season in history when Pedro was here and then some incredible individual seasons by Rice, Mo Vaugh and Manny. I saw Carney Lansford win the batting title and lose his job to Wade Boggs who was a machine with the bat...Boggs was a cock when he played here but he was unreal as a hitter. Dwight Evans had the best arm in baseball for 15 years and he used to air it out every 10 games or so just to remind the other guys he still had it and was a better hitter at 35 than he was at 25. Too many names, not enuff time or bandwith.

Yankees are playing their best baseball in 10 f***ing years and you guys cant play nice together? What does it take to have harmony in your lives?

And suck it does for the wings fans..Pitt had 0 2nd period scoring chances and i think they managed 4 shots on net...The 3rd period had been owned by Detroit till last evening and Pitt was staring at an 0-3 series if they lost last night...They came out swinging and stole 1. Great effort to hang in there but it seems clear to me that Detroit is better and will win this thing in the end.

The Yanks are clicking on all cylinders now and their defense has gone an amazing 18 games without commiting an error,i find that simply amazing..Got to give credit where credit is due and this surge started with the return of the long eyelashed and short horned Arod, when do we see them again? We are the only team that beats them like a 10.00 bronx whore the night before rent is due...Nice avatar with the pink hat there #21,are those little watermellons on the hat?

The wings depth is coming into play here. Pitts frustration is showing and when detroit tied it in the 2nd you could almost see pitt wither away. once detroit took the lead Pitt went into the fetal position or ""the assball"" and were essentially saying ""not in the face, please not in the face"". I wouldve thought on back to back nights that the older team wouldve had a harder time keeping up but again, heres where 4 lines and 6 good defensemen make all the difference.

Baldelli is too fragile at this stage to handle any kind of full time roll,we have 2 guys playing regularly that cant break .200 and the guy who was hitting the ball well in florida isnt hitting well enough for the brass to take a chance on,especially since he's got 1 option left.' Chris Carter Team LeaAVG G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG OPS PAW INT .267 33 135 11 36 10 0 2 13 52 9 22 0 0 .317 .385 .702 slugging .385 with 2hrs as we get into June is sad for a hitter of his capability.

Thats why you're a Baseball guru Jack, the State is right but the team isnt.

Pin the date: When does Papi break out/get benched

Until Nick Johnson goes JD Drew on us. With our staff shaping up with the addition of Smoltz and Bucholz pitching lights out in RI and our other young arms pitching well we have the material to bring in a power lefty hitter for the run. We got off to a suck start but when Ells started getting on base our offense was invigorated accordingly. I still like him at leadoff and think he will develop the needed patience to be a premier leadoff guy in this league but i also think the front office dropped the ball this offseason by failing to revamp our offense. Consider the fact that Lowell Tek Lugo and Bay all have done better than expected and had they not we would be sitting behind toronto and ny and screaming for Ortiz and Francona's head. Winning hides a lot of problems, losing exposes them dramatically. 1st place keeps us passively optimistic. -
NHL PLAYOFFS - STANLEY CUP SERIES PRICE (BEST OF SEVEN) May 30 81 PENGUINS SERIES +125 5:05 PM 82 RED WINGS SERIES -155 Detroit beat em 4-2 last year and this price on the underdog is small. Is this like the 80s when the Islanders,at the end of their run beat up Edmonton only to get dumped like a prom night baby the following year which began Edmontons dominance? I wish the price was higher on Pitt or Id take a pop at them,Detroit being too deep wins a couple of OT games and the series in 7.

May 30 1 PIT PENGUINS +1½-200 o5½-125 +140 5:05 PM 2 DET RED WINGS -1½+170 u5½+105 -160 This is for game 1, not the series but its telling me that Detroit is the favorite.
-
I like the wings here if Nick Lindstrom is playing, they are deeper too but those 2 studs in Pitt are playing like Ratelle and Gilbert...HA, lets see if anyone under 35 can tell me who they played for.

Today was awful,he got a hit but K'd miserably in the clutch. f***, i saw people fall before but never this bad this quickly, either he and manny were lovers or he shared another thing that manny was involved in. f*** hes terrible and when your DH has 1hr and is hitting .200 as we approach June somebobdy needs to make a decision for the benefit of the team, everyones saying the right things in the clubhouse but eventually someone needs to tell him how bad he sucks... Is Chris Carter alive in RI?If hes ever going to be anything nows the time to see it. -
Ya and more to the point, I love wakefield and hes been an incredibly serviceable guy for us over the years but hes a knuckleball pitcher, they are .500 pitchers for the most part. 4.31 184 159 the above #s dont get you into the hall of fame, not even a remote chance.
-
Give out the physical IP addresses and we'll burn down their houses as they sleep.

I still like the wings to win it all with their 4 lines but they dont have 1 guy as good as crosby or the other stud..Its obvious the Bruins arent in that calibre yet and need at least 1 stud who they can count on to score religously, this has been and always has been the problem in Boston since Orr went off Bill Barbers knee back in early 75 and then off to Chicago...Ray Bourque was great, Neely was great but they werent superstars like these kids in Pitt are.
-
Good to see the yanks bounce back Good to see the sox sweep toronto and as ive said before, its not who you play as much as when you play them
-
Why dont you 2 just meet up with straight razors and settle this up? Its like watching the 2 kids on the short blue bus going at it, you know you should stop it, you know its wrong but you just have to keep looking. I dunno Gom, I been reading jacko and battling with him for 7-10 years now and although I suspect hes a flaming homosexual and addicted to masturbating to Derek Jeter highlights I'd have to take him in this battle inspite of your wit and ability to battle with the best of em. Keep it up kids, i love this s*** and im going to have to beat the head of IS when we go out tonight because i am locked out of here most of the time.

Failure?...You're calling this team a failure? What kind of expectations did you actually have for this club when Garnett and Powe went down? In the 2009 version of the NBA its difficult to advance in the playoffs when your 1st options off the bench are Dante Scalabrine and Eddie House, 2 men who may not be in the league next year. The reality is they shouldve been ko'd in 5 and when you score 75 points in a game 6 you really have no business winning, the fact that Glen Davis was able to make a 16 footer with no time on the clock was a miracle.. These guys after 7 games and overtimes up the ass against chicago had no business beating Orlando. Consider this. Paul Pierce, who someone here refered to as a better offensive option than Larry Bird not too long ago pulled a playoff houdini and had the quietest 21ppg in celtic history. Ray Allen shot like s***, Rondo out rebounded the forwards with the exception of Perkins and inspite of his youth, his erratice shot selection and the turnovers, he carried these guys. In game 7 they had nothing, nothing at all and for the 1st time in my life they were a home underdog in game 7...The only guy on the starting 5 who shot over 50% was Perkins. Ray Allen shot a putrid .394 in the playoffs... After 20 years in the desert these guys have given us a championship and something to hang our hats on this year, theyve already called the celts bulls series as 1 of the greatest 7 game sets in sports history... Dont get me wrong, I am used to seeing the Celts win these game 7s as if it were our birth right. It sucks losing but this wasnt like in 85 when the Lakers won it all on our floor or in 82 when we came back from 3-1 to have another game 7 at home but philly beat us by 20 or in 83 when Milwaukee swept us or in 73 when the celts won 67? games and lost at home in game 7 to the f***ing knicks.. Nothing to be ashamed of here, we played on mere heart and soul and with absolutley no help from the bench, our gunners flatter than plywood, a 6'1 guard as our muscle under the glass and the best player on the club out for the last 100 days... Want to define disappointment? look at the other Boston team that got beat in 7 at home after posting the best record in the league.

He left an entire division of base runners on yesterday. his last 90 games could be summed up by that screaming 10 footer he hit in the 12th. Lugo gets 4 hits pedroia gets 4 hits elsbury had 3 i think and the big man...0-7 with 11Lob. Hes embarrasing himself and is killing this team in crucial situations. Slumps are slumps, this guy is just simply terrible and in the 3hole with a contending team that wont cut it. They need to either move him down in the order or put his ass on the pine. -
Seems to me that the team that had been there and done that won last night. The Bruins were tentative and not aggressive enough, they have a ton of balance but nobody to take over the game when needed. Thomas was human, that f***in badmitton shot that beat him was the result of a cheesedick rebound..The Bruins had a great shot to do it this year, Detroit looked human and their goalie is garbage and i think they couldve gotten by Pitt. This Carolina team is good, no excuses here, our guys got beat in their 1st meaningul playoff appearance. i think they will be back next year and should be better but they pissed away a great chance.

Wings have a game 7 too I had them the other night when they were 800/500, they get shut out for 58 f***ing minutes. a quick 800 down the shitter on a tuesday really sets the stage for one of those weeks where you gotta call the shylock and make arrangements with fidelity for a quick 5 figures. Got both Detroits in a parlay today, tigers up 5-0,1 out bottom 7 and verlander had at least 12Ks go back to check the score and its 5-4, 2out in the 7th and bobby f***ing seay is in for Detroit. good its 6-5 minnesota now, f*** me. Lost 300 on a 5.00 dice table last night when i met up with the local firemen for a fund raiser for a guy who died of cancer, i figured the 25.00 dollar ticket wouldve been my part, i didnt count on half the f***ing town getting boozed up on my dime last night when i couldnt make a f***ing 8 and crapped out on 4 throws in a row. Bruins are a 2-1 favorites the wings are 250-100 I think the wings are a surer bet but if i know anything its that i know nothing. I'll give y'all my pix before i leave, whatever you do make sure it isnt what i pick cause im suckin moose dick in the handicapping game.

Xanax, the recomended snack for Boston sports fans since October 86. They're a 210/185 favorite this evening. If i had any courage at all I'd play the dog with the puck line but Ive gotten jammed badly by too many empty netters this year to go that route.

5/13 @ LA of Anaheim
Mr Crunchy replied to chakes17's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
His overall consistancy seems off and the long ball has killed him. Longoria is hitting everything these days so you can make a pass on that guy beating you but its more than that. Hes gone from the top lefty in the a.l to a very mediocre pitcher and it started in florida back in march. I have heard and read everything from delivery issues to him trying to break in a new pitch yet he hasnt figured it out yet, his velocity seems fine, his command is off. Hes young and if theres no arm trouble ya got to figure he will settle in and be himself soon. The reality. if he never wins another game in Boston he will still be a lifelong Icon and worthy of a statue just for his balls and his humble approach to everything he has accomplished,Christ what a story this guy is. In this town where the Jimmy Fund was invented and had its noble beginings Jon Lester is an example that thousands and thousands of kids can look to for hope. In the game of life that trumps being the best lefty in the american league. Sox players will come and go as long as we live but Jon Lester is 1 of those guys we will never forget.
