  1. Francona had a knack for using Cora effectively. Isnt it funny how we're int the middle of an offensive calamity and we go and dump 1 of 2 guys who are hitting .300 as his replacement hits .073? I take it we're eating Lugo's contract too, correct?
  2. So is this Hideki""the fat toad""Irabu circa 2009? Reading between the lines John Farrell is essentially calling him out. This guy does have a lot of innings under his belt for a young guy and we own his ass till Obama's 2nd term. Lets hope that the brass and this guy can come to a happy medium and we can get his 5 2/3 ip of mind numbing, cautious and excruciatingly painful s*** back on the field
  3. DiceK costs us 20M a year,Lugo 9M and Drew 14M I count 43,000,000.00 between the 3 guys per year or just about the entire payrolls of 6 teams. What pisses me off is not only are these men dragging the team down competetively but due to their costs I cant afford to bring my kids to a f***ing ballgame anymore and that my friends is sinful.
  4. I hate the fact that ****s like Gerry Callahan and weasels like Bud Selig have the oppurtunity to judge who is or who isnt eligible for the most sacred honor given in the game. Can you imagine the fun baseball scribes wouldve had following Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb around or interviewing a ********** like commisionar Mountain Landis or Rogers Hornsby, a guy who hit .424 and won 2 triple crowns while hitting .400 3xs and averaging .400 over a 5 year span in the 20s. Horsby is arguably the greatest hitter ever but if he had to live thru todays scrutiny he never wouldve made it out of the Oklahoma league, check out these career #s for a 140lb 2nd baseman. BA G AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI SB .358 2,259 8,173 1,579 2,930 541 169 301 1,584 135 I never saw this guy play, never heard a word he spoke and couldnt identify him in a lineup full of chinamen but would anyone dare argue his baseball credentials to gain entry? Well with his attitude the NAACP would boycott the Hall and maybe even the State of Ny if they heard him speak his mind so again, would yesterdays players be capable of surviving todays scrutiny? Im not to be confused with Martin Luther King but if we are speaking of ethical requirements to gain entry in the hall of fame shouldnt we also revisit the games sordid past players and reevaluate their careers, attitudes and behavioral patterns like we do todays players? I hate Pete Rose and honestly speaking I dont think he was in the top 3 players on those Reds teams from the 70s but longevitiy being what it is,someone had those 4200 hits and if you do the math its amazing...4200 hits = 21x200, simply amazing...He was a ********** but he won and he hit and he scored and he played the game like we want all the guys to play it. In the name of God let him in.
  5. Has any pitcher looked worse winning 18 games with a sub 3 era than Dice K did last year? He still struggled to get 7innings in inspite of his gaudy #s and as Kilo pointed out he is from another culture and that culture is based on pride and honor...Which makes his statement to the press somewhat confusing...If he was effective he would be pitching, he isnt effective, he has sucked this year. Courage honor and pride arent mutually exclusive to the orient either. I saw Luis Tiant throw 165 pitches in a world series game and Id bet he was over 40 when he did it and then we have Schillings effort in 2004 which was as courageous as anything we've witnessed. Jack Morris 10 inning shutout in game 7 vs Atlanta was spectacular as was Kevin McHale playing an entire playoff with a 1/2 inch stress fracture in his foot. I saw Jack Youngblood play a superbowl after shattering his tibia and I saw Drew Bledsoe win a game with a finger that was nearly amputated and Ronnie Lott did in fact have his pinky amputated rather than miss a game....Duk Koo Kim was on the business end of a 62 punch combination thrown by Ray Mancini, was clinically dead on his feet yet was still throwing punches and Cornelius Boza-Edwards got hit so hard by Alexis Arguello that he s*** his pants in the ring yet got up and finished the fight. Huge Balls come with the territory for most of these guys which makes todays article rather sad. I would venture to say that the Redsox and their huge monetarial investment have this guys long term health as a primary concern and if this guy cant see this then someone should kick his ass till his eyes open...This is a 1st, a Japanese ball player blaming the team for his shortcomings and I suspect in Japan there are disappointed DiceK fans who will see this as excuse making and a copout. Japanese men are refreshing compared to the prima donna's of our culture, its shocking to see one of their men behave ala Roger Clemens.
  6. BSN, hard to find the good Lebanese Hash thats plentiful in Canada yet rarely makes its way down here. Time to make peace in the valley if for no other reason than to open up the Becca for us burners. Nothing like getting a bar of the black that has Arabic lettering on it, last time I paid it was running upwards of 25.00 a gram here in Boston, in Jamaica and in other spots its infinetley cheaper. Ya anyways The photo above gives Epstein a pass on Drew, DiceK Lugo and the other assorted f***ups made. Of course if we were still looking at 86-90 years of emptiness I would consider physical violence on our young GM..By most expert accounts DiceK was THE best available arm in the market when we signed him and I still to this day believe that JD Drew was signed as part of this deal. What has happened since we signed these guys is 1 title, 1 pennant appearance that we got nipped in a game 7 on and a current pennant race that we look very capable of winning. 2.5years with these guys and 2.5 years the team has had what we all can agree on is successful baseball. the future is what concerns us and I do believe that the West Coast has a market for DiceK and if indeed he needs to be moved we will find willing partners in a trade.
  7. If we are going to have a hall of fame that currently houses a convicted murderer, a racist commisionar who prevented an entire race of men from playing the game, avowed racists like Cobb and Horsby, complete degenerate alcoholic scumbags like mantle ruth and cochrane and yet we intend to keep out the guy who has the most hits and the guy who has the most homeruns? what is the purpose of having this building to begin with?? When asswipes like Gerry Callahan and GeorgeKing have votes on this issue while continuing to show how little they know about the game I in turn feel like burning the f***ing building down. Joe Jackson got caught doing exactly what? Pete Rose agreed to the lifetime ban with a deal worked out with Giamatti that wouldve allowed him in eventually then Giamatti died. This used car dealer named Bud Selig is the only fence between Rose and the Hall and the used car salesman oversaw the greatest amount of cheating this game ever witnessed in these roid scandals....Who the f*** is he to prevent a guy with 4200 hits from gaining entrance? At least Jim Rice made it in. too bad it took an entire decade of Roid exposure to show how great Rice really was.
  8. Are you still puffin on that hi test BSN? i had a z of some rather fresh bud i had to drop off with a friend who lives in a large apt complex in Jamaica Plain and as we were walking into his unit the security guard held the door for us, I in turn held the door for him so he could walk in front of me as the thing i was carrying stunk like a dead bastard rat baking in the heat of July....an hour later as I left the apartment the Boston Animal Control officer was outside the door looking confused, bewildered and quite pissed off. the guy asked me if I had seen a skunk walking nearby and I sheepishly replied Ne parle pas anglais monsieur Gend'arme as I held my nose in mock disgust. True story
  9. Well the boy did win a lot of games in his 1st 2 years in Boston including game 7 of the 07 pennant but lets face it, hes never ever looked dominant in the majors and his record this year speaks for itself. Good to see the honorable Japanese taking pages from the Roger Clemens book of excuses. How does blow me comma you sushi eating touchole translate in Japanese?
  10. Ive always liked arroyo, the boy eats up innings, is completely oblivious to pressure and has had some playoff success in meaningful innings. Is he the answer? Well the way we've been hitting 2 rookie faggots from Texas can stick it up our ass..He would provide Ny with some depth at the starting rotation which they definetly will need with a pimped out Sabbathia, an injury prone Joba and the biggest question mark in Burnett, who i think is the key to the entire Ny playoff agenda.
  11. Lots of sexual tension on board here. I suggest that the warring parties just ask each other out. Theres nothing like a lil sodomy to cure all these bad vibes y'all are sharing. who knows, you may find yourself a friend for life.
  12. All we got to do is get to October, are Texas Anaheim and the Drays as prepared as this team is to get there in front of us? I like our chances against all of these teams. In July the team b/a is what .220?? I suspect that will improve enough for the sox to get to the playoffs. Its July 28th and inspite of the calamaty this month has been and as well as NY is playing we're only 2.5-3 out and have the confidence of being 8-0 against NY so far this season. Id like another bat that brings some power and would be very confident going with beckett lester wake buckholz penny and the best bullpen in baseball down the stretch.
  13. Production from the outfield has been non existant in July, if Jason Bay doesnt sign soon he may work hit his way into the unemployment line, hes been God awful and speaking of Gods... JD Drew?...Ya well his .233 average maybe due to the mood swings all this rainy weather brings onto those who are run by the Goddess of the moon, maybe he isnt feeling fresh, has someone called Dr Pappas or perhaps the head OBGYN at Brigham and Womens and give this guy a pap smear or a mammogram....JD Drew the God, hitting .233 what the f*** happened to this guy? Well Mr Epstein we have Dicek at 20M per on the shelf cause his arms tired. we got Drew at 14M hitting like a kansas city faggot. Lowell is running like Barbaro at Pimlico and lost 1.5 steps at 3rd. our mvp is on pace for 6 hrs, our mashers in the middle are hitting 228 and 252 respectively and our leadoff guy is hitting 8th or 9th half the time and the bench guys have done nothing to earn them new contracts next year. What are your plans for the end of the month, we need legitimate offense today. The good news is pitching rarely slumps and we will be in the hunt no matter what happens to the offense. the bad news is our offense was weak in the playoffs last year and is getting exposed this year. Too many sucky pitchers have stuck it up our ass with ease and Im coming down with another painful bout of Tourette's Syndrome...When the f*** does NY come back, its been our only cure?
  14. This was on the Mets team page and I found it appropiate. The 2009 Mets: Proving that sometimes the most relevant Beckett in baseball is Samuel, not Josh.
  15. Is it shocking to see Miami LA and NY flood their rosters with latins while playing in the biggest latin markets in Baseball?...Ya,Minaya has gone balls out for the biggest Latin names in the market and hasnt gotten the end results but is it his fault that the team laid down like dying dogs the last 2 years? He fired Willie Randolph but Jerry Manuel ran into the same year end malaise last year. Theyre loaded with ****s failures and gaggers and they are latins whites and blacks. The Wilpons gave Minaya the blank check and the Mets have been in the hunt pretty much 4 years running with this year being the exception.. This is what GM's are supposed to do.They get the parts to the floor, the manager assembles the parts into a machine and the machine functions accordingly. Laying the Mets failures on Minaya's obvious love of Latins isnt entirely fair and they arent going anywhere even if they do pick up Halliday. When the ancient Gary Sheffield,a waiver wire pick up 2 months ago, leads your team in HR's then you got no power at all..What happened to White David Wright,5hrs this year?Puerto Rican Carlo Beltran with 8,Luis Castillo is hitting .290 but slugging .330 which is nearly impossible, they come in all shapes colors and sizes and they all are under achieving...Minaya put together good talent but this talent is now aging underachieving and if theres disharmony in their clubhouse Id bet it has more to do with good players playing like s*** and being frustrated than racial discord....Winning solves all this s***. when you're winning you dont notice skin color or language, all you see are teamates that you want to fight and die for and vice versa...Jason Veritek would be leading them in Hr's if he played in Queens, this is the problem in NY, not language, not skin color or Minaya's obvious taste for Latin kids. Theyre underachieving, they aint hitting and they now have to look at each other loss after pathetic loss with internal frustration and rage....This makes sense in the business world. the Mets are looking to pick up a share of the Manhatten market and what better way to do this than by signing Latins cause they got 4-5million of them between the GW bridge and Westchester County. The problem they do have is these guys have choked away 2 huge division leads and a pennant in the last 3 years and this year theyre in 4th in a league that isnt that good.
  16. They need a spark, perhaps an internal brawl is appropriate, they have all the fire of a 60 yr old heroin addicted hooker.
  17. Tied for 1st 4 games after the break in the AL East isnt all that bad. Prospects up the ass, the best rotation in the game and although the pen has been somewhat shaky the past few weeks its still amongst the best in the game. Panic? no dont panic but if the right bat comes along we need to make a move. we continue to get results from Beck Wake and Lester, we need Penny and Smoltz to step it up a bit or put Bucholz in the mix for the rest of the year, nobody has what we have as far as pitching goes. Our offense is in a funk, a bad funk and theres too many good hitters who arent hitting and it seems the power has been shut off completley..The lineup they had on the field Saturday was weak and theres no shame in losing to Roy H as we did on Sunday but to get handcuffed by Kevin Millwood in such a way isnt good sign...Smoltz gave us 5 good ones yesterday, the 6th inning was an abomination and I dont know if Francona played the over but he certainly left him in the game too long as far as Im concerned. Beckett tonight and I predict a strong showing on his end, hes gotta play stopper now.
  18. Minaya is either the worst GM in the game or the unluckiest, I'll leave that open to debate due to the injured ballplayers hes made multi millionaires. Theyre built very much like the Yankees. they have the 2001 allstar team playing for them in 2009.Theyve been competetive but have collapsed in the last 2 summers after bending over against the Cardinals in the 06 pennant...Collapses happen, we know that better than anyone but for chrissakes they werent chasing the 27 Yankees... Theyre paying too many people too much money do nothing and although i like their idea of getting their much needed bullpen help by signing Putz and Krod their offense has just quit on them this year. I hate the Mets yet I feel bad for them because theyre so pathetic... Watching them play is like taking in a Babe Ruth league game, they dont play fundamental baseball, they dont field well at all, they never seem to get a bit hit when it matters and if they have a shot to f*** a game up it seems they always get it done... Good thing Washington is in their league. In fairness to Minaya they were close but we know the seasons arent decided on paper in January...Reyes Delgado and Wright were all hurt by June and the rest of the team isnt capable of putting up the needed offense to keep them competetive..They shouldnt bother with Halliday unless he can hit .285 with some power.
  19. I tend to prefer a known commodity who can stand the heat in Boston vs a guy who plays in AAAA ball and hasnt had to deal with the bright lights of broadway and the fans sitting on his face like the do here in Boston....This is all speculation of course and we do have a couple weeks before the deadline. I like things as they are today and my only concern is Halladay ending up in the Bronx but that seems rather unlikely...Good night kids, play nice with the Ny crew, they are rather sensitive these days.
  20. Whatever the Yanks want to offer him to replace Matsui
  21. Joba was supposed to be the reliever, Hughes the starter who came with more anticipation. Where is IanKennedy?
  22. Can Matt Holiday perform in the late innings like Bay has? The man has been nothing short of miraculous from the 7th inning on and he's leading the free world in RBI since we got him.
  23. I love this guy but the last time I saw him pitch was in a crucial game against Pittsburgh and he didnt survive 3innings...He has the fire in his belly but his arms and legs havent been there in years. I also think he was a user, the 99 allstar game hurt him forever and inspite of having some of the best years in pitching history immediately following his velocity never approached pre all star game status. Why Philly? I wouldve thought LA wouldve been a better fit for him with the bigger park and a the huge latino fan base they have out there, this cant be about the money.
  24. It took many of you a long time to figure this out. I only wish I had his predictions from the 04 offseason to show y'all. Johnson was to win 30 games, Pavano was to win 26 and Jarret Wright was to win 18. Arod had the triple crown wrapped up and his only threat was going to be fighting Jeter and Posada for the batting title...Oh the memories we share just make my eyes mist in pure joy. Time to call out the dogs, 3 up and we got 10 weeks to go
